It's not really for smog. Smaller engines don't burn any cleaner or produce a significantly less emissions, it's really fuel economy thats driving the smaller engines with turbos. Because that is a huge factor in what car people decide to buy. And government incentives
I did some training with a large company that made and tested components and emissions for GM. They disclosed to me that they tune one car to pass the tests and the cars sold are tuned differently and would fail. Nothing new.
150 deaths for all of Europe from NOX??!!! What's the total population of Europe and what percentage is that??!!! How do we know these 150 deaths came from NOX and not something else??!!! Maybe the French should cut back smoking cigarettes instead of blaming the deaths on diesel engines!!!
When the Boss said that little 2.0 liter engine is emitting more than 40 times a tractor rig I knew this video was a scam. Even without any emissions treatment there is no way that a 2.0 liter diesel engine could out emit NOX an 8 liter diesel engine.
Yes this is true. Im a mechanic to have my own company in 50cc scooters. Its the same scam. Euro 5 engines now, but i can convert a euro 1/2 to 5 just bolting on parts. The gasses have to come out of the tailpipe anyhow even how many things you try. If governments really listened to technicians they could have reached far better results with cleaner fuels, like aspen on a mass production scale. Instead they went to e10 making the pollution even worse. Destroying engines making them pollute even more
Overlooking the fact that when you live in high density populated areas, yes, your gonna smell/breathe more contaminants, Regulating an entire country from testing in a highly saturated locale is disingenuous at best. If you want clean air stop living on top of one another, simple.
You are right but general public don't accept it. There's only one solution to climate change and pollution, reduce the total population, we all live, eat, use water, waste food and resources, with half of the population we would go back 50 years in emissions.
Auto mayhem? Maybe. But with swell robotics everywhere, Ai jobloss is the only thing I worry about anymore. Anyone else feel the same? Should we cease Ai?
Go back to 2015 and stop these idiots from ruining diesel life, those diesels were so much cleaner than cars from the beginning g of existence and just because they changed what and how they measure emissions doesn’t mean gas engines are any better plus they waste loads more fuel for no reason,I’ve owned 15 diesels including many vw and Audi, somehow cigarettes are still legal as well as high fructose corn syrup,go figure that out and ban all that
Not to mention in the states without emissions checks like Florida where I live, people delete all emissions equipment from their diesel trucks and purposely make them smoke like a locomotive. Cuz somehow that's cool...
It's all about the bottom line,.... profit! To design, tool up, train, test and repeat to meet new emissions targets and have suitable performance eat into profits., I understand what is involved in trying to reach these emissions targets, it is extremely difficult. However lying to the public is not on and ALL manufacturers involved should be held accountable.
Is it? I wouldn't be so sure of it, most of the people don't have a place to recover the vehicle at home hence are not buying EV, it will be a slow transition with lots of hybrid motors sold in between.
I have a euro 4 Crafter now which is getting replaced by an ev. From the scam era. It has a dpf filter... But when the filter is full it regenerates blasting all the particles etc back in the air, untill it repeats again. Basically its a euro 2 with a filter...😂
I don't understand why the powers that be seem to overlook the noxious fumes from air cooled motorbikes, running very rich mixtures and belching hydrocarbons.
Go sleep with your nose at the exhaust and see how you like it! It pollutes more with more NOx! Not to mention it is far more expensive to make than petrol engines.
For the last few years, strict smog regulations have taken away our V eights, and given us tiny TwinTurbo with reliability issues

Great vid 👍🏼
Don’t kid yourself there are more companies out there than just VW, look at Cummins Diesel case the was in the news briefly a month ago.
The BS .... how to push electric cars ... destroy the competition

Well there is, depending on the air / fuel ratio tuning it's definitely possible.
NOX is produced at ultra high combustion temperatures. Low revving low efficiency big diesels don’t run so hot so less NOX. Plenty more soot though!!!
Show us your investigation.

As a cyclist I feel strongly that diesel is a hazard to human life. ☠
No diesel, no country wide food transport. Definitely a hazard to human life
Don't go cycling then! Or would you rather we all not eat so you can bicycle around??!!!
Do you have any opinions on the combustion products from motorbikes in comparison to vehicles with Euro 6 exhaust gas treatment?

What doea the US do, sell large cars that are exempt from emissions. They are worse.
Not to mention in the states without emissions checks like Florida where I live, people delete all emissions equipment from their diesel trucks and purposely make them smoke like a locomotive. Cuz somehow that's cool...
@ianriggs I never understood US obsession with rolling coal. It's just wasted power, poor tuning, and a lack of intelligence.

The biggest scammer: The EPA
In us drive big v8 but small i4 are problem 😂
How hard would it be for vw to design a new engine that has amazing pollution
The manufacturers change humans so they can breathe nox without problems.
How did they fix it they should have relay thoughts about how to fix it
Scotland Sharing 🥃📡🥃
Dont much care for Rudolf Diesals engine. Loud. Smelly. Problematic in cold temperatures
Won’t be a problem in ten years…ice is dead

Way worse than cars are small engines; lawnmowers, generators, weed whippers, etc.
I don't understand why the powers that be seem to overlook the noxious fumes from air cooled motorbikes, running very rich mixtures and belching hydrocarbons.
Back to walking might work eh....too simple
Nothing wrong with diesel just the snowflakes moaning. 😡.
What is the price of humans?
Just ban regular non commercial diesels.
Do the Climate Change WEF gangsters drive these vehicles? LOL
VW
This VIDEO IS A SCAM,
Which branch of science do you work in? Please share your expertise so we know what the issues are with this video? Thanks.
I love diesel engines, the best 4wd engine available. Where I live, we don't have autobarns, or highways. Not everyone lives in the city
Go sleep with your nose at the exhaust and see how you like it! It pollutes more with more NOx! Not to mention it is far more expensive to make than petrol engines.
In the countryside away from towns Diesel can do a job for now. Problem is when we fill cities with Diesel cars and vans.
📯🕘⏳⌛; Questions are > how many of these cars industry owners/ceo's go to visit gift bow kiss the 🇻🇦° & what years did they visit gift bow kiss 🇻🇦° ?
What?
This nothing more ... just want to make more money....🥱
