Mostly Foster's to me was about originality. I've always had a hard time coming up with my own visions for things like dungeons in d&d or original drawings and designs. this show shaped a lot of creative inspiration for me while being super entertaining. i remember when i would switch the channel to Boomerang every day to watch Foster's when i was like 6 or 7. i recently rewatched the entire series and it was one of the best experiences of my life, hands down. this show is special to me in a lot of ways, more than i could list in this comment.
As a 90's Baby/2000's Kid, I am very happy that the shows I grew up with a starting to get reviewed or looked over by UA-cam Creators! While the UA-cam Creators who grew up in the 80's and 90's help introduce me to the greatness of their decades, I have been looking forward to my shows to starting having content made from them!
This show really was special, your remembering of your experience watching the premier back in ‘04 really brought me back, I also recall all the promotion of it and loved tuning in for new episodes back in that mid-2000s era. Loved the bumpers they had between shows too.
I just thinking about this show the other day. Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends in my top 10 when it comes to the greatest Cartoon Network shows of all time.
It’s one of my mum’s favorite shows. It’s still enjoyable to watch to this day. Whenever it’s hot I still quote Bloo’s “It’s hot in topeka” line. The episode’s where Bloo finds a secret door and the fleas episode are so memorable to me. I couldn’t go very long without saying “I like chocolate milk” in a fit of giggles. This show made everyone feel special and real even if they were imaginary.
I remember not liking the previews when the show was first coming here to Poland, but fell in love with it after watching the first few episodes. There's something special about this show that even our dubbing actors loved. There's a UA-cam series that interviews Polish dubbing actors and every single one who's worked on localizing the show speaks highly of it, it was something special.
I enjoyed watching Foster's. It was a really unique show with distinctive characters. Foster's was one of the shows that got me interested in the animation process :)
Everytime I saw this show as a kid I couldn't comprehend how everyone is still alive; literally anybody can create an imaginary nuclear bomb friend and end the life on the planet.
I remember the CN website used to Have a foster's game where you could make an imaginary friend and run around the home. It was so much fun and it's sad it's gone. It was a good chunk of my early grade school years.
Speaking of videogames... The Fosters flash games on Cartoon Network's website were some of my most played games on that website. I loved this show back then, and I miss the good times with it. Hope you talk about it's Christmas episode sometime, too.
I remember there it was like a world where you could make your avatar and hang around the different places inside of the mansion and outside of it. It would take literally a couple of hours to load everything, but for sure that experience was worth waiting. Unfortunately, it was shut down in 2009 when the series came to an end.
Cartoon Network had the best games on their site. I remember there was an Ed Edd and Eddy demolition derby one, and if you won the round as Edd he would throw his hat into the air. Seeing him without his sock hat thing blew my mind as a child lol.
What a beautiful introduction! I love Foster's! I think it's one of the most creative cartoons ever and it reinforced my admiration for Craig McCracken ❤️
This show was definitely my childhood, I was quite in my preteen years when this show aired. Even back then, I never really saw this as a show for little kids. I watched it and enjoyed every episodes, I never had an imaginary friend to really connect with this show but despite that. I saw this as a really interesting and cool idea, a show based around mainly imaginary friends? This I gotta see! Watching it all the way through, to see new characters like Cheese, and Goo. Watching the specials like Good Will Hunting, still remains in my head. Man, I'm glad I never missed out on shows like these. These days, I've only been missing out on the new ones.
i loved fosters, i was 7 when it aired and i watched every episode, the creator of this show also made the powerpuff girls and was one of the lead crewmembers on dexters lab, all great shows with interesting characters/unique plots/premises and settings.
One of my favorite things about Looney Tunes today is Candi Milo as Granny, because she is unmistakably using her Madam Foster voice, letting it live on in another character.
Dont forget the Cartoon Network wrbsite game for fosters. Used to be a lamp leveling up everyday!!! I loved the show! First episode was fire! The show was so good.
I think I was seven or eight when this first came out. This show gave my younger sister and I something fun to connect with. We created our own imaginary friends as a way of hanging out together. I was always tied to the relationship between blue and Mac and how they never gave up on each other. Loyalty and never abandoning your friends no matter what is what I took away from this awesome series.
I remember enjoying Foster's as a kid. I think my favorite imaginary friends were Wilt and Eduardo. I was very drawn to their personalities and saw a bit of myself in both of them. Not to mention their designs (like every other design on this show) are incredible and striking. Tall people make me feel safe, and I now realize that Wilt was one of the first disabled characters I remember seeing in an animated show. Meanwhile Eduardo is purple (my favorite color) and just looks like he can give the best hugs. I remember this being a wonderful show, definitely needs more love. P.S. That theme tune really is bangin
Just finished watching this series a few days ago with a close friend of mine, and it made us both feel so nostalgic rewatching this show and seeing episodes both of us missed years back. This is good. Thanks for appreciating this childhood masterwork like it needed to be.
This was an amazing review. This show, among many others during my childhood brought me so much joy and it’s nice to hear someone give it the appreciation it deserves. There’s definitely some amazing shows out there now but nothing really hits like this one 👏🏼
Foster's means a lot to me in many ways! I am autistic and when this show came out, I had no idea what it did to me but it changed my life! I related to Mac/Bloo so much and still do to this day! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the show!
I loved anything Craig McCracken put out, especially this show. It's got such heart and it still sticks in my mind. I don't see many videos about Foster's and this was certainly a pleasant surprise. I hope you do other videos on his work, too, it'd be nice to reminisce
I love how you talk about not only the show but everything surrounding the show it really brings you back. I still remember that Friday night when Foster’s home originally aired that movie was awesome!
The background imaginary friends were pretty memorable too since they appeared constantly and had amazingly unique designs 😂 My favorite was the pink bearish looking one with the anime eyes, bat wings, and heart t shirt 😂
My favorite short from the show was the COCO...NUTS...ARE...FAAA...LINGFROM. Brings a lot of nostalgia and happiness to me when I remember this show and wished I also had a real imaginary friend lol
Foster home for imaginary friends was exactly what I needed at the time. It showed me how everyone was worthy regardless of abilities and looks. And that there is always a place to call home even if its not in an adoptive home. It was so much fun I still recite some of the best quotes of the show. The characters weren't as loud and obnoxious as most show of the day. The basket ball player having such a kind and warming voice... That really separated it. Don't get me wrong there was a lot of screaming but it wasn't quite the same.
Ah Fosters, the show that helped to rekindle my love of animation , and proved that in the right hands even the the most simple and (well to put it it bluntly) immature concepts can become something full of substance that everyone of almost any age can enjoy. Was every episode a winner?: No. But the ratio of good outings far outweighed the bad and even the bad episodes had a moment or two that gave me a chuckle, a claim that a lot of comedies on TV cannot make. Plus one has to admit the writers weren't afraid to subvert the audience's expectations now and again, which was a rare thing for animated programs targeted towards children back in ze day.
Me and my siblings enjoyed watching this show a lot. Some of the things we still remember from this show are the "Got BO? Get Deo!", "Coconuts are falling from the sky", the funny bunny episode, Berry (the yandere imaginary friend), and of course, Cheese. We still sometimes randomly quote Cheese's lines.
Foster's was amazing. The destination imagination movie and Berry episodes hit me the strongest as a child. Sometimes the people you trusted can abandon you and that not every person who comes to you with a smile is innocent. Goo and Mac's relationship taught me that its okay to be different or have friends who are different. a little kindness can go a long way. The superhero siblings who were constantly fighting but made sure to never hurt each other was definitely my brother and I growing up. we had a really bad fight one day before our mom let us watch that episode. it had some really hard hitting life lessons for me as a child. the movie though, made me cry. I resonated with the friend in the box when I realized he was lonely but as I got older, I completely understood Frankie's exhaustion- being over worked and unappreciated. be amazing and never lose your imagination. that's what Foster's taught me.
Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends was one of my Favorite Cartoon Network Shows from the early 2000's from Cartoon Network it really captures the idea of being a child with an Imaginary Friend so well it's Funny and heartwarming
I got to rewatch this show. I remember catching the final episode as a kid at my grandma's apartment. What a wonderful ending, that was also a bit somber, to a great show.
I love how you incorporate the old CN bumpers in these episodes. Those were small things as a kid I loved, they felt like they expanded the universe. Its awesome to see them again.
I'll admit, I'm one of those kids who just thought blue was selfish and annoying. The and Cheese still haunts my nightmares. But, even then, I still ADORED this show growing up. It was nice to have a show that encouraged me to be creative and open with who I was. Plus, all the other characters are just so lovable. Thanks for showing it some love.
I loved everything about this show, from how it looked to how it sounded. Dinner is Swerved is still my favorite episode because of the pan over to the colorful table filled with food.
I love this show. The theme song is one of my go-to songs to whistle (that, and On The Open Road from A Goofy Movie lol) I quote it almost daily, and I really need to rewatch it. I love your channel, man. I feel like we're friends, I hope that's not weird lmao.
Foster's helped teach me that how others see you, what they think of you, doesn't need to define you, doesn't get to tell you who you are, and only you can decide what parts of you and the relationships that matter to you are "too childish" to hold on to
Foster's is one of my all time favourite cartoon series ever! CN really struck gold with this show. Everything from the characters, the aesthetic, the comedy, and the music is so special and appealing. A modern masterpiece that made my childhood amazing.
I wasn't expecting this video to make me cry. I had forgotten how much I loved this show went I was a kid. A really like your videos, but this one is special.
For me, it means simpler times. I love Foster's Mansion to bits. I remember that in my country, it premiered on a New Years to celebrate Cartoon Network's new layout (to the cool one with the CN city bumpers), and it was the first time back then that I managed to stay up so late, it was something pretty big. I was instantly taken in by the characters and the underlying heart underneath the funny beats and colorful designs. Haha, I would often record the series on my (then pretty old) VCR, just as a little treat, to rewatch whenever I wanted. I did the same with a lot of other series from back in the early 2000's. Those old tapes are my treasures now.
To this day, I still love Foster's and have plenty of memories from watching it. However...looking back, there were plenty of episodes that were viciously unfair to two characters; Mac and Frankie
This show made me realize the tangibility of chosen family and its love. I needed that hope to get through a rough childhood and try to find genuine connection and love in the spirit of chosen family and community.
If they kept Bloo's original personality from the pilot then this show would've more fun to watch. Even as a kid, Bloo annoyed me and ruined the show for me.
I feel like that was kind of his job, he was supposed to be over humbled because he doesn't know what it's like to be abandoned. Mac would do anything for him and he knows that.
Wait until you come to the fanfics. In one of them I found a couple of years ago, Bloo did something bad to annoy Frankie (idr what it was tho) which made her cry. Wilt heard her crying from his room, and then came to her and asked her about it, and when he found out it was Bloo, he had a fit about it and had quite a long informative conversation with Bloo about it.
I have a complicated relationship with Fosters, honestly. Imo, it's a show with high-highs and low-lows. I love all of its TV movies and certain characters, but other characters and certain episodes really frustrate me. It could be hilarious one episode and annoying the next. Also weirdly dark at times - I remember being incredibly upset by the episode "Sweet Smell of Excess" as a kid, seeing Bloo caged up and forced to stay away from Mac. Honestly, it's my least favorite Craig McCracken show, but there are still episodes and elements that I love. Even though I don't share your opinion though, I really loved hearing your thoughts on this show ^v^
This is my opinion basically. I really like and respect what the show is going for, but it isn’t my cup of tea. When the show hit, it smacked. When the show didn’t, it whiffed hard. Sometimes it got too annoying with its characters and others overstayed their welcome. The show would have been great if they focused more on the adoption aspect rather than crazy antics, kind of like the reverse of collecting xyz thing over the course of a series, but instead, a great finale would be for Mac to finally let Bloo go, and to empty Foster’s Home.
I feel the same way. It has some very memorable and great episodes, but also some awful and annoying episodes that really hampers my enjoyment. My most hated episode is the one where everyone conspired to throw Mac a surprise party and it ends in his humiliation.
This show released when I was 6. We went on our first real family vacation that year and stayed in a beach house in Kitty Hawk, NC. My little brother and I played outside on the beach all day every day we were there, literally forcing our parents to bring us in for meals or bedtime... except for the third night we were there. My brother and I saw the commercial for the show’s premiere a week prior to and we were pumped everyday waiting for it, we sat down and watched the whole thing and were caught hook, line and sinker. We never missed an episode until the show went off the air and I have so many good memories of laying on our soccer ball bean bag chairs and watching episodes after school. It doesn’t quite hold up for me the way other shows of that era do, but it still pounds my nostalgia button till I’m weak in the knees with old memories
I really like this channel. The videos are interesting and fun to watch. What I also like is that when it uses old bumpers aka idents like 'we'll be right back' or 'back to the show' which actually goes to an ad. So they feel actually realistic enough to do that.
This show makes me feel melancholic because it was during the first season that I started moving away from cartoons and into live action. This was probably the last show I remember watching vividly.
I have found your channel recently. I always feel silly reminiscing about these shows that I used to watch and did not think that there were other people that still hold these shows close to them. Thank you for dissecting these shows.
Thanks so much for watching! Does this show hold a special place in your heart as well?

As a 90's Baby/2000's Kid, I am very happy that the shows I grew up with a starting to get reviewed or looked over by UA-cam Creators! While the UA-cam Creators who grew up in the 80's and 90's help introduce me to the greatness of their decades, I have been looking forward to my shows to starting having content made from them!
This show was honestly so nostalgic, funny and wholesome as teenager to be honest lol.
I love how your mom recorded the first episode because she knew you wanted to watch it.
This show really was special, your remembering of your experience watching the premier back in ‘04 really brought me back, I also recall all the promotion of it and loved tuning in for new episodes back in that mid-2000s era. Loved the bumpers they had between shows too.
My mom and I used to watch this show together all the time, Foster’s is definitely one of my very favorite “nostalgic” cartoons
That's wassup man glad you guys liked this show over their was it popular
@@Jac735 from what i've seen on the internet, i think it was quite popular back in those days
You must have been a fun kid
Not anybody can because not anyone has a rich imagination, that's why many kids came to Foster to adopt imaginary friends.
the bomb would probably do the opposite of what the kid actually wanted like Eduardo and just been some weird lookin nuclear bomb with legs
I remember the CN website used to Have a foster's game where you could make an imaginary friend and run around the home. It was so much fun and it's sad it's gone. It was a good chunk of my early grade school years.
This video made me remember watching Good Wilt Hunting by myself in my aunt’s room on Thanksgiving. Those were the good times
That episode as well as the Imagination Destination deserve their own reviews.
One of the greatest cartoons of all time, thank you for reminding me how much this show meant to me as well.
Speaking of videogames...
The Fosters flash games on Cartoon Network's website were some of my most played games on that website.
I loved this show back then, and I miss the good times with it.
Hope you talk about it's Christmas episode sometime, too.
Fosters Big Fat Awesome House Party was amazing, wish they would have kept it around so I could play it today
I remember there it was like a world where you could make your avatar and hang around the different places inside of the mansion and outside of it. It would take literally a couple of hours to load everything, but for sure that experience was worth waiting. Unfortunately, it was shut down in 2009 when the series came to an end.
Big fat Awsome house was unceremoniously re-skined as a total drama action game 😤😤😤
@@Ungluedpython that game was good while it lasted until it became lost media
My mom and I loved this show and always watched it together. I wish they would bring it back!
i loved fosters, i was 7 when it aired and i watched every episode, the creator of this show also made the powerpuff girls and was one of the lead crewmembers on dexters lab, all great shows with interesting characters/unique plots/premises and settings.
"It's hot. In Topeka." is a common phrase for me during the summer.
This was an amazing review. This show, among many others during my childhood brought me so much joy and it’s nice to hear someone give it the appreciation it deserves. There’s definitely some amazing shows out there now but nothing really hits like this one 👏🏼
There was never a piece of media I wanted to live in so much more than this show.
It was a great show, with one of the best intro's I know. You could hear it clearly from any room in the house and know you were in for a good time.
Foster's means a lot to me in many ways! I am autistic and when this show came out, I had no idea what it did to me but it changed my life! I related to Mac/Bloo so much and still do to this day! I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the show!
Fosters really made me really fall in love with just using your Imagination still brings so much joy to me
I vaguely remember this show but I remembered liking it. This shows holds a special place in my heart.
I loved anything Craig McCracken put out, especially this show. It's got such heart and it still sticks in my mind. I don't see many videos about Foster's and this was certainly a pleasant surprise. I hope you do other videos on his work, too, it'd be nice to reminisce
Wander over yonder is another good thing he made
I love how you talk about not only the show but everything surrounding the show it really brings you back.
You mean Mabel Licorice?
Netflix give this man a contract for a series
His voice nails our nostalgia gland
I absolutely loved this show! Thinking back on it I knew someone who was essentially a real life Goo. I got the DS game as well and it was fun!
Bloo: "My stuff's here, so I live in the room!"
Eduardo: "Oh, yeah?" **throws Bloo into a garbage can** "Well, now you live in the trash!"
💀
This my my favorite cartoon as a kid
I laughed so loud when I heard “I like chocolate milk”, fantastic show tho honestly 10/10
Foster's helped teach me that how others see you, what they think of you, doesn't need to define you, doesn't get to tell you who you are, and only you can decide what parts of you and the relationships that matter to you are "too childish" to hold on to
I remember this show. Really loved it.
@SupremeEgyptianGodsMan That's great
I LOVE THE SHOW SO MUCH.
Especially Bloo. (Not for weird purposes) because he is a silly little goober I love.
I ❤️ U
FHFIF is one of my favorite classic CN shows.
over hated now. you don't see people praising or talking about it today.
Foster's is one of my all time favourite cartoon series ever! CN really struck gold with this show. Everything from the characters, the aesthetic, the comedy, and the music is so special and appealing. A modern masterpiece that made my childhood amazing.
"Full bladder half an idea where I'm going it's a Tuesday and I'm wearing sunglasses," the story of my life right there.
I wasn't expecting this video to make me cry. I had forgotten how much I loved this show went I was a kid. A really like your videos, but this one is special.
Don't ask me why but I always thought it would have been cool to see a cross over of chalk zone and fosters home for imaginary friends.
@@kattodd3039 i feel like there's should've been a limit to the crap they took from Bloo.
4:59 man so tired he looks like he's fighting for his LIFE
As much as I love the show, I can never look at scenes where Frankie and Bloo interact in the same way anymore. If you know...you know.
Oh.
Bloo *Bloo* *Me* 😳
Wait.... There is some of that type things??
Even at 24 I am still in love with this show. It makes me so emotional remembering how much joy it added to my childhood. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Same here particularly because of Bloo. Why did they turn him from a nice guy into a full blown asshole?
Potatoes Potatoes Potatoes Potatoes everyone likes Potatoes.
This spud's for you!
Whenever it’s hot out, especially summer time, I STILL to this day use the “It’s HOT in Topica” reference and no one else catches it lmaooooo
*THIS SHOW IS ICONIC* *thank you for discussing how great it is! That’s it that’s all*
I really like this channel.
