Hello Friends and Followers!
In this video, I take you through the entire process of sketching the commissioned graffiti name "TINGEL" in a dynamic black and white style. Starting with a technical pencil, I meticulously lay down the initial lines, focusing on the flow and composition of the letters. The composition phase took nearly an hour as I worked to balance the challenging combination of letters, particularly the tricky "i" and "L" in graffiti form.
After one hour of refining the sketch, I move on to outlining the design with Copic Multiliners, ensuring clean and precise lines. Finally, I add depth to the piece by filling the 3D blocks with various grey tones from the Copic series, bringing the letters to life.
Throughout the video, I share my thought process, challenges, and the solutions I discovered along the way, offering a detailed insight into my creative approach. It's always exciting to take on these commissioned pieces, especially when they push me to explore new letter combinations. While 3-5 letters can be straightforward, 6-letter names like "TINGEL" offer a unique challenge, making the final result even more rewarding.

Hey yo Smoe ! I just bought some of these ohuhu bleed proof papers. Not even sharpies bleed through. So crazy. I actually ripped one and theres something in the middle of the paper. Not sure what but all i know is nothing gets through them lol maybe check them out. If you want its up to you lol oh yeah they call it double sided as well. I guess because you can draw on both sides and itll be ok. But ive never drawn on both sides ever unless i was throwing my sketch away lol

an “ambigram” yes - also when my girl’s name still was Fary - i made a Smoe that was upside down Fary…
I don't feel like your "i" will become a "j" because the j always has that curve, but your "i" does not. It has the sharp inward corner. Not sure if I make sense. Unless you'd make a j like a box but the style doesn't really allow it to. Idk if I'm explaining this right lol. Anyway dope work man. I constantly have trouble with G. I just have to practice more. ✌️

@SMOENOVA, the word you looking for is "Flow" not Rhythm.
Rhythm is a repetitive and understandable arrangement of letters - this can be the positioning, angle, size, thickness, colour, whatever. Like Up, down, up, down, up, or thick thin thin thick, or every 3rd letter dark, or whatever - you can have a rhythm with or without flow. flow is used in multiple ways, but in graffiti scene it is mostly used for letters that are bended, like they are in a motion and create lines that lead the eye through the sketch / piece - flow is probably the hardest to describe, but it is about the motion within and between letters. I don`t know where in the video I was searching a word, but Rhythm is definetly something different than Flow. but if you have style, rhythm and flow, there is not much you can reach anymore… but it is hard to get all three under control…

Das Wort Rhythmus in Deutsch passt, aber auf English gibt es den sinn nicht so wie du ihn verwenden möchtest. Aber egal du muss es ja wissen, ich leb ja leider erst 25 Jahre in der USA.
