      The biggest problem with North Idaho, is the volume of new Californian residents bring their ideology. Plus, the crime that overflows from Spokane. Also, the high volume of Native Crips!

      People are so focused on trying to prevent crime that they lose sight of how it teeters on unconstitutional.
      In a nation founded on liberty, you don't "prevent" crime, you punish crime. You can't have liberty if you operate on the basis "you may do something illegal, so you aren't allowed to..."
      You don't punish people because they MAY do something. You punish them because they HAVE DONE something. But alot of modern day people liked to be corralled by their govt.

    I appreciate your channel and what you have to say about my beautiful state of Idaho. But when people from Comifornia, they think they are conservative (in the Comifornia sense) but aren't necessarily red state conservative. Unfortunately, as Comifornians move to other red states, they tend to bring their Comifornia voting habits, turning red states purple then blue. Case in point, thinking that decriminalization of drugs including Marijuana is a good thing. NOPE! Just look at what that did for most of Comifornia, Portland Oregon, Seattle Washington and Denver Colorado. Those major cities are now Hell holes. Please help keep Idaho, Idaho, and just like hiking in the back country," leave it as you found it."

    • @northidahoexperience
      @northidahoexperience  11 місяців тому +3

      That's not entirely true. 75% of the CA people moving here are Republican. That is a greater number than Idaho traditionally votes (58%). Plus, those people understand the importance of voting because they watched their states deteriorate because of politics. You can't lump all people from one state into the same category.

    • @rameylewis7730
      @rameylewis7730 11 місяців тому +6

      @@northidahoexperience Your 58% traditional Idaho vote is the current status in Idaho from having all of the Californians and other blue staters mixed in. Idaho used to be almost 90% red. Plus your red Californians that sell their multi million dollar homes move into Idaho and build multi-million dollar homes raising the tax base which has caused many idahoans to lose their homes over time to high property taxes. McCall Idaho is my example of that. There are many problems with Californians moving into Idaho whether they're red or not. You don't see it because you're still new to Idaho. I remember Idaho with under 700k people in the entire state. Very few Californians and Idaho was pristine. So I'll agree not all Californians are causing Idaho problems, but most of them do in my opinion. 39 year LEO still on the job a bit longer having seen Idaho change a lot.

      California Republicans are NOT Idaho Republicans. It's totally different. Most Cali repubs seem maybe, barely right of center, and would probably end up voting Democrat in Idaho. They still bring some social voting BS, ok with higher taxes for this and that. Most of them almost have this sense of entitlement thing going, rather than easy going and showing some humility. Just bcuz you like guns, doesn't make you Repub in Idaho. My dad voted for Hillary🤦‍♂️, and he carries and goes to the range. If you move to Idaho, and North Idaho, McCall, and Boise make you like Idaho - you're still Californian and will never be an Idahoan. Those Democrat, blue strongholds in Idaho SHOULDNT appeal to a republican IMO. The cops are corrupt, City councils are corrupt...

    Idaho also has laws that protect children under 18 if they use a firearm in defense of themselves or others. Even if they're in a familiar persons house they've been invited into before, and even with never been given any previous permission or access to the weapon. They may also be protected from any civil suit from the homeowner or attacker or any person suing on behalf of either party. Potato guns are legal as long as they use a liquid propellant, you're not damaging property, & you don't leave a pile of garbage. Pumpkin cannons too! There's also a very important unwritten rule that goes: Leave it better than you found it. Don't leave garbage! I know Idaho's public lands are an awesome playground. But please remember that to some of us it's the backyard we grew up in. We're aware of how special it is and we take pride in the fact that we've never taken that for granted. If you can feel the same, be respectful, courteous... and wave, then I consider that person a true Idahoan no matter where you were born.

      I prefer open carry to conceal carry myself, but I am a "bigger picture" sort of person myself. I personally feel conceal carry has done more harm than good to gun RIGHTS. Because now it's thought of as unusual or dangerous when a gun is out in the open. It spooks the cattle(normies)
      Alot of gun owners don't think that way. Hyperfocused on the immediate tactical advantage of not being targeted for having a gun.
      These days gun owners are treated as anomalies and pariahs because guns have so much stigma, shame, fear, danger etc. associated with them and when gun owners conceal their firearms from public view it inadvertently reinforces those things because it places the concept on having a gun out in the open more and more into obscurity.

Just about when you think you've got the rules sorted out, they come up with a new one. California has become a very "special place!"

    It's nice having an Idaho enhanced CCW for crossing the border into Washington state, but all of my concealed pistols have "high capacity" magazines, which of course are currently banned in Washington. Would you recommend sourcing some neutered 10 round magazines for my firearms before crossing the border, "just in case", or am I being paranoid?

      If you had purchased your 10+ round capacity firearm before the law went into effect, you are grandfathered in to own, carry, and use.

I'd rather avoid the situation all together, but how would you prove that to a cop with a chip on his shoulder, handcuffed on the side of the road, over a "high capacity" magazine. I don't like it, but statistics say you only need 3 rounds, so for now, I'll just comply & carry extra mags.

    So I think the last part about built suppressors is a little off. If I remember correctly, the law states "All gun, AND gun accessories that are built in the state of Idaho, and stay in the state of Idaho are legal without federal regulation." I only saw the stamp requirement on Montana's similar law. And since it states "gun accessories", it covers a wider area than just suppressors.
