As a science enthusiast I'm very happy to see you keep the variables under control like replacing your cinder block targets. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people test firearms or armor and use the same target for multiple tests which really alters the reliability of the tests. Like if you shoot a cinder block with, say a 00 buck shot, then shoot it with a .22 the result is going to look drastically different, ya know? Props to ya for proper testing procedure!
Sure let's Practice on Human Targets. 🤨 There always needs be 🧠 Dead Chirping. 🤔 Hmmm if can do that to a Block What's it going to do to your Soft Head. ( yours being softer than most )

In regards to quality and craftsmanship, yep. In regards to perfomance and power, its been a bit of a reverse bell curve, air guns, in terms of perfomance and power kinda started where we are now. Kinda. You have to go all the way back to a blow gun which was the standard for well a long ass time. Then material science came up a bit and we took a step back in ergonomics but a step up in power, and we had the bellows gun which was kinda a modernish form factor rifle affair with a flexible hose and a bellows device that provided the impusle to send the projectile. Then ŵe had the japanese air rifles that may or may not have inspired or been inspired by the star of this show, the GPAR. Girrandoni Pattern Air Rifle. Specificlly it wasnt a sigular product so much as it was a series of different interpretations of the GARP, the Girandoni Air Rifle Pattern. Basically a schematic for building a servicable and producable pneumatic rock thrower. This pattern was available for license for individuals or entities of means to use to produce a weapons platform. Very much the contemporary game changer that the ar15 was when it hit the scene. It is essientially the same form factor that a modern day bolt action or mag fed single shot repeating hunting rifle. It used a hammered and forge welded cast iron pressure vessle as the power supply and but stock, similar to how the air force air rifle pattern. It was thumb cocked with a hammer that opened the buffalo horn valve. Used leather washers as seals. It had a spring returned sliding block action and at about 4 oclock running next to the barrel, was a linear and tubular integrated magazine filled by included speed loading tubes. Held about 20 shots of 48 or 50 cal round balls. The reservoir had about 20 shots of useful pressure in it at a proper fill. It was gravity fed maning that one had to push the sliding block out of battery, tilt the barrel tip up to some degree and a round would fall into the sliding block. Releasing the block would bring the round into battery then cocking, aiming and firing could be done. Power wise it was about like a 45 acp at about 30 to 40 yards. Subsonic so it was quiet, had no flash, no smoke cloud and worked in the rain. Of course like all compressed air platforms that rely on a tank, it suffered a downward power curve between fills. Then powder platforms surpassed it, but during its apex it was a military weapon. Then air guns devolved in mainstream popularity and somehwat complexified in terms of design. There was a sort of refinement to the concept in the pritchard liquid gas air rifle that used a refillable compresses co2 bulb but was generally less powerful even if an improved design. Kinda the forerunner of co2 guns available today. Then air guns became a toy to very narrow use tool. And today we are again in the girandoni era. Just better materials and some slight design innovation.
I really love your demo of extremely high power “Air” rifle. AEA products remind me the diversity of the air rifle. Someone like competition, cares about the perfect pellets, 0.1” group, and pressure regulator. Someone plinks at backyard, cares about the loudness, shooting count every air filled. There are too many PCP rifles with similar spec currently. AEA definitely gives us another fun. I do not like hunting even kill a grass spider, but like to see how an air gun shoots the hard brick. Undoubtedly, AEA created its own market at the lower price range.
as a backyard plinker and pest shooter i really need a pressure regulator as grouing is so much better no matter how much air is in the bottle it will allways hit in the same spot.
@@ricknielson8934obviously the Bintac S45 and Zeus are pricey but they are the most expensive. I have a Challenger.30 BP with 32” barrel and it only cost 499$. Firearms guys are always surprised by the price and quickly think why blow that money on an Airgun? They however usually can’t shoot for shit. I go to the range and spend less than 15$ on one hundred shots. They powder burner guy maybe shoots 20rounds and spends more on those bullets than I do on my 100 shots. Who is going to get better faster? It’s logical really. Upfront cost is higher for Airgun but ammo is one tenth the cost. That is reason enough for me and I choose Airgun as I love shooting and the gun pays for itself in a year or two when you include ammo costs. Are they reliable enough for home defense? Debatable but then hopefully I will never need to find out

you need to do a collaboration with Ian McCollum to compare these AEA's to the original Girardoni air rifles as adopted by the austrian army in 1780 - a repeating air rifle in .51 cal shooting approx 20 balls of 200grains from the magazine tube, and 30 shots on one fill of air reservoir. these guns were also used by lewis & clark on their western expeditions
@CRAZY PATH I found out only a few years back. Powder burners overshadowed all othes as the standard of self defence. We recognize it now, for the monopoly it is, yet no one dare challenge it.

Love the way you tested the gun, it is more meaningful than other people who try it using paper targets. Shooting paper means nothing! Shooting concrete cinder blocks and busting with airguns that simulate how the gun could be used to shoot real-life targets such as for hunting aminal or criminals (human animals). Many thanks!
Great demonstration video, but not sure why he brings up zombies? What can you do about the third, forth "bunch" of zombies with this? 9mm handgun for sure there.
Because I'd never use an airgun against an actual person and neither should anyone else... but who really cares about zombies. Besides. They move slow. Lol.
I went for AEA 9mm... These things are so damn accurate... Well ... I'm happy. No explosions no license. No flash. No cops . No excited neighbors. That 9m AEA isn't going through walls houses and children or cops... Especially armor... The safety level with this caliber is just right ... And I'd like to take a grizzly with one... But I would have a couple stopping guns at the ready...I'm not stupid ya know... Also I use far less air than the 45 or even 50 cal Bin Tacs. If it were an emergency and I needed stopping power the Bin Tacs are simply the finest non firearm home defense in the world. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the ZEUS, especially when it's in the .72cal. ! That thing is a total beast of a gun ! Very interesting I have friends or want to get into this. Would like to see some accuracy and velocities with the Krohne but 5100 200 yards that would give you an idea of what caliber to get kinda like the 45 flatter trajectory probably than the 72?
Is it me, or because airguns are getting so powerful - the government will soon start insisting on licenses, and changing the laws for these things? I have several .22 PCP rifles and they are so accurate and powerful... I can't imagine firing a .72! Wow!
I have a umarex Hammer, .510 pcp. It's the most powerful on the market,or was six months ago. 705FPE. Almost 1200fps. And that's with 550 grain slugs. I have 320 grain hollow points. Those are considerably faster. With a 550 grain slugs, someone killed a Cape Buffalo at 60 yards. So anyone talking smack about airguns need to learn how to read. Then go sit down somewhere and be quiet.
Also, it's 4000psi. Well, 3500. At 3500 you get 3 shots. 705 FPE each, and a finishing shot at about half. But on my ballistics charts they say a .357 mag hits with 699 FPE. So my rifle will crack an engine block. That's what they say about the .357 anyhow. Single shot tho, and if anyone buys the hammer, get a scope. It has no sights. I recommend one for a little distance, at least a hundred and fifty yards. Hundred would work. It's got the air to push it that far. And a Cape Buffalo has a hard ass head from what I understand.
Did anyone else notice his shots were placed above the sweet spot to do the most damage? Then with the 72cal he placed the shot to where it does the most damage.
acually that wasn' the sweet spot it was the strongest spot on the block from the side and had more streanthg then any where else , so he in fact proved his point even better !
@@ShootingGearReviews ive been hearing that alot, 30 cal more accurate than 35, so what you say? Is that really the case? And if so could you demo it for us? Love the videos, especially with your family, my kids love it! God bless!

4 states have serious restrictions now. Two states treat them like fire arms no matter the power the other two for higher power. Videos with titles like this draw attention. As far as the comparison to 9mm 200 energy foot pounds from even a carry size 9mm is VERY low. ''Average'' is closer to 300. 5 inch barrel and up 500 fpe is easily achieved

Great Airguns reviews! QUESTION: Never had PCP and thanks to your videos I am interested in getting these two,: the AEA Element, and the AEA HP SS PLUS or HP MAX; the first one for backpacking,. My question is how long can these airguns remain tank-loaded? Once I reach the 3600 psi or close to it and put it away in the closet. 1 month, six months, a year??? Is it a negative thing to keep the tanks (o-rings, etc.,) loaded for too long without shooting them?
In summer time the air can hold for months, but during the winter, the cold weather makes the psi drop, just like your tires. U have to pump it up. There's a gauge so just pump it up whenever u need it.
Basically with my HP MAX .50 I would pump it up to 4300-4500psi. And if the night before has been cold then the psi will drop from 4500 to 4400 or 4300psi. Definitely check it every day if you're going to be using it as self defense, I recommend getting the HP MAX .50 because there's actually spare parts you can buy online, there's no spare parts for the Zeus or element max, if your gun needs to be repaired then you're shit out of luck until you ship it in.
my hatsan keeps air in for months between shootings. but if you get some dirt in the seal it might leak a bit but thatsa not a problem as a hand pump can be used to fill it up and one can take apart and clean the airbottle if its leaking.
These are fantastic alternatives for home defense in places with ridiculous gun laws like Illinois where I live. Could anyone tell me a ballpark on how much these air rifles costs and the rounds?
Awesome video Ben! Absolute destruction with that .72 caliber. Thank you for showing us the incredible power of airguns. Appreciate all you do and thanks!
Hardly surprising: that slug was almost the size of a 12gauge. Point now, I see pretty big air canisters: how many shots can you get out of them? You will need a compressor, still real impressive if you can get them. I live in UK: you'll need a personal permit from the king on top of the regular gun license.. Joking of course, but I should imagine those guns have unique serial numbers, do they?
At least in the United States, these airguns are not considered "firearms" under federal law. A couple states have some regulations, but nothing more than that. As it should be!
It's great that airgun technology has come a long way but i feel like we should stop overpowering these airguns which would eventually attract gun restrictions and gun control legislations from authorities and the airgun world would loose it's autonomy and freedom from regulations, if you wanted a seriously powerful gun then there are always firearms available to suit that need and besides the main attraction of airguns is it's relatively cheaper and small calibre for specific kind of hunting and sports.just my opinion 🤞✌🤟🤘
that may be the main attraction to you but with how diverse airguns have become there is so much we can do with them and it’s just cool that so much can be done with an airgun. Besides, in the uk they are limited to only 12 ft lbs… I’m sure the “government” is aware of the airguns that are available and it’s not going to matter if it’s 1200 ft lbs or 27 ft lbs if there is a limit imposed.
4 states already have airguns as fire arms laws. Two of them are for high power the others any power. So background and wait for a red rider. My guess is that the draw for compact high power airguns is something like 50% are restricted people and people that want to avoid the fire arm process. I think that's great while unconstitutional restrictions still exist. A guy for example that got caught with an ounce of weed 20 years ago deserves an option for defense and hunting. The really bad guys should stay in jail or be sent on to the big judge. Videos with titles like this are a red flag I wouldn't be so blatant
You're under the impression that that isn't going to happen anyway lol. Look at the UK and Canada. Even the larger ("big bore" is a misnomer; in guns, that's anything over .50, generally, because that's where you start talking about balls-per-pound, rather than decimals of inches) bore rifles are cheaper to shoot than firearms of equivalent power output (since air is still free and you aren't buying powder, cases, or priming). Being afraid of these people gives them power. Not everyone is an illicit suburban backyard plinker. Historically, air guns were often .30 and larger, because they were actually meant to be a legit alternative to firearms (especially in a pre-metallic cartridge world). Girandoni's design was not the only one around in the 1780's, there were many people building airguns that had some power behind them (Militaries of the day even gave them a serious look for use as a special purpose weapon). There was a plot in the 1650's to assassinate Oliver Cromwell in a session of parliament with an air gun, that really only failed because some of the conspirators talked too much and got caught before hand. Ignorance, and it's sibling: fear, are powerful tools utilized by exploiters.

A 9mm hand gun 200fpe? The weakest round I know of has a muzzle energy of 280fpe. Average 310fpe. Can go up to 500fpe depending on the round. This is out of a 4" barrell.3" is a little weaker and gets stronger when you get into rifles chamber in 9mm. The 72 cal zuses is stronger than all hand guns around 1300fpe it's about the same as an ar15 but that's kind if weak for a rifle. A common 30/06 is around 2900fpe for example.
You're kind of right but mostly wrong. The AEA ZEUS has been recorded hitting 3000FPE with either air tank dump or with sabot ammo. Proof. ua-cam.com/video/ilrJnA11obQ/v-deo.html 3000FPE from going at 1200FPS IS Comparable to maybe a 270 Winchester althought slower.
@@undeadaeon9992 yeah I saw that 3000fpe dump. thats not normal. that only happened to mac. and its the record for an airgun. it was the entire tank that dumped then the valve pin was seated and never did that again. the gun it self normally does 1300fpe. that was a malfunction and not a normal regular occurence. it was pretty cool to see. if you look in the comments I commented on that video when it came out.
@@undeadaeon9992 wait what? hold on I will have to check that out that sounds unbelievable. that would make it slightly stronger than a 30/06 and stronger than a .270 winchester. and those are some fairly powerful hunting rifles.

I have to look into these sabbot rounds to see if you can make other airguns into a shot gun like gun. very cool.
A 9mm pistol and ammo combo that only gets 200fpe would be hard to find. That is to say that 200fpe would be far below ''average'' energy for a 9mm pistol. Only the shortest barrel pistol with very light loads would be 200 fpe. None that I found on ballistics by the inch got that low. The lowest on that site was 215fpe. No doubt the hp max is an incredible powerhouse for an airgun with that compact size. However you are using huge slugs that don't fit in the mag. And even then you probably fall short of 300fpe. A 9mm with the right ammo easily exceeds 400fpe even in a carry size under 4'' barrel. A berretta 92 fs with a 4.875 inch barrel you would have to try to find an ammo that would get less than 300fpe. Your passion for airguns is great but this is misleading in my opinion. I think this was important to note. Fun to watch video though
yeah i was gonna say avg 9mm powderburners are like 300-400 fpe a standard fmj is like 350 i believe. the crappiest 9mm powder burner will outperform every airgun out there for self defense. airguns are primitive weapons for a reason.
@@V3g3t41987 There is a couple 200-300 fpe reliable semi auto's out there now that certainly beat ''the crappiest'' 9mm. Especially if you want better accuracy(airguns have longer barrels and three points of contact). But point taken.
@@mikeholt9988 but do they weigh less than 3 lbs and fit in the palm of your hand or pocket....lol yeah i get what you are saying brotha man but you cant take the airguns in your pocket
Some people been getting 370ish FPE and some claim 400 FPE with moderator from the HP max. Depends what rounds your using. I heard .235 grain 495. But on the regular I get like high 300s. AEA HP max has the strength of a 9mm but it produces bigger holes so it's obviously stronger than a 9mm.
The consensus now is that slugs are more accurate past 75 yards especially if there’s a breeze and the slugs, hold more energy when hitting a target. Many of the FX gun pros are exclusively, shooting slugs now. I can’t seem to find any kind of test showing exactly how much energy a slug will produce compared to a pellet at 50 yards or 75 yards. Is it 25% more energy is it 50% more energy? Have you done any test on this? If not would you consider doing any? Basically, it would have to be done using plywood, ballistics gel, and possibly a hog skull to see the penetration compared to a pellet.

Good morning, I have some almost new pickup tires and want to use them as a target. Mainly on the tread, because there is rubber and metal. Your concrete target is at close range. What power do your weapons have at long range, for example 300, 500, 600 yards, or more? I must say air guns have come along way. Definitely impressive.

I'd say that Air Compressors have come a long way.
Wow ...

I have to watch this again ☝️😎👆
I really love your demo of extremely high power “Air” rifle. AEA products remind me the diversity of the air rifle. Someone like competition, cares about the perfect pellets, 0.1” group, and pressure regulator. Someone plinks at backyard, cares about the loudness, shooting count every air filled.
There are too many PCP rifles with similar spec currently. AEA definitely gives us another fun.
I do not like hunting even kill a grass spider, but like to see how an air gun shoots the hard brick. Undoubtedly, AEA created its own market at the lower price range.
I kill every grass spider I ever see.
as a backyard plinker and pest shooter i really need a pressure regulator as grouing is so much better no matter how much air is in the bottle it will allways hit in the same spot.

I would like to see a distance per accuracy on these air guns.
They dont because thats too funny

Yes
Basically with my HP MAX .50 I would pump it up to 4300-4500psi. And if the night before has been cold then the psi will drop from 4500 to 4400 or 4300psi.
Definitely check it every day if you're going to be using it as self defense, I recommend getting the HP MAX .50 because there's actually spare parts you can buy online, there's no spare parts for the Zeus or element max, if your gun needs to be repaired then you're shit out of luck until you ship it in.

@@mikeholt9988 I'm with ya. Especially with the resent claims made about the lung blowing power of 9mm.

@@undeadaeon9992 wait what? hold on I will have to check that out that sounds unbelievable. that would make it slightly stronger than a 30/06 and stronger than a .270 winchester. and those are some fairly powerful hunting rifles.
@@undeadaeon9992 Okay I watched the video. this is more aiken to a shot gun round than a rifle round. still very very impressive though. and its the same strong as a 12 gage at 3100fpe. that is a complete shot gun replacement. thats crazy. and you can shoot some rifle slugs at ar15 strength too. that gun is insanely nice. I have to look into these sabbot rounds to see if you can make other airguns into a shot gun like gun. very cool.
Man you taught your boy to shoot now!
*You just won yourself a gun*
Ya 9mm more around 400fpe, some .22lr is up around 200fpe even
Some people been getting 370ish FPE and some claim 400 FPE with moderator from the HP max. Depends what rounds your using. I heard .235 grain 495. But on the regular I get like high 300s. AEA HP max has the strength of a 9mm but it produces bigger holes so it's obviously stronger than a 9mm.
damn you even hit it on the hardest part too with the 72 awsome power with that airgun
An airsoft gun was included in Justin Trudeau‘s gun ban
Why is it that after you shoot the .45 I could not hear you as well as when you were firing all the others guns.
When Lewis and Clark set off on their Corps of Discovery Expedition, on May 14, 1804, along with the standard Muskets of the time they also carried an air gun they said was capable of killing deer. I don't know any of the specs though.
I found a video on the air rifle you're talking about
m.ua-cam.com/video/2dZLeEUE940/v-deo.html
Its on forgotten weapons, swiss air gun video
Lewis & Clark ready!
Love the zombie mention 😊
Can't wait for these to start showing up in Resident Evil games or something.
In metro exodus one of the strongest rifles is the tihar, an airgun. The devs knew what the hot shit is, because the game is from 2019.
I see you taught him well bud! Love to see that!😊
Can you keep these PCP's locked and loaded on standby or does the gun lose gas over time?
I've had my hp max by the door for 4months, hasn't lost anything
cant wait until mine comes in :) i also have the 50 caliber Umarex that drops 20000 pound plus african cape buffalo in there tracks! i shot the 580 grain it went completly through 3!! yes 3 !! 55 gallon steel drums! and shattered a cinder block as well! air rifles have come a looooooong way! since i was a kid!
Air Guns/Air Bows need to be legal for big game hunting in more states. I don’t know much about them but air bows push an arrow faster than a lot of regular bows.
Cool but where does the air come from?
It's pumped in, with either a compressor, or a simple bycicle pump, into a reservoir inside the rifle, usually seen running parallel to the barrel.
Good morning,
I have some almost new pickup tires and want to use them as a target. Mainly on the tread, because there is rubber and metal.
Your concrete target is at close range. What power do your weapons have at long range, for example 300, 500, 600 yards, or more?
And for all three weapons, what damage can they do at these distances on something like a tire or other half-inch thick rubber object?
Thank you for sharing.
Can you do progressive shot from the first to the last? It’ll be interesting to see how much weaker each shot gets.
The aea bullpup challenger hits alot harder but that zuez 72.cal is a straight monster
I have the Aea .357 Max looking to getting the B&W S45
Luvin the Zeus 72 cal its a freaking beast. Its on my bucket list. But, they are out of the 24" barrels. I can't wait to destroy some cinder blocks. I might have to settle for the 30", just because. 😅😂👍
Being a generation removed I am in awe of air rifles
WOW....that .72 hit the rib of the block dead center and still blew up the block. I may buy a HP Max though. I like having a magazine.
Is that a HiPoint C9?
WOW!!! That's power!!!
By the way, the "round nose practice ammo" is actually called ball ammo.
Looks like the 72 hit even at the strongest part of the structure right in the middle where the crosspiece is.
That's a big Air Rifle!
You saved the best till last! What an awsome gun and video too!
Holy shit Airguns have come along way since the old break type to tension the spring 😲😲🤘🤘
Where do they sell the AEA Zeus 72 cal?
Try airgun depot they got pretty good pricing on PCP rifles
When I tore apart a wall for a home basement renovation project, I found a bunch of cinder blocks with holes in them. Now I know why. 😂
👍👍a sweet piece of machine!!! A damn great investment too!!
Someone design one to 3d print. I'm so excited that there's automatic ones now. This proves its possible
