My favorite Scat memory was at the Monongalia County (WV) fair. The ride operator was playing some kick-ass country tunes, among them George Strait's "Down and Out" from a K-Tel or some such album. This was 1984. How I'd love to have those days back!
Never ridden The Scat, But I’ve heard of it. I had a similar experience on The Tilt A Whirl, The ride operator was playing some funky blues music. I miss the old days of classic carnival’s and classic music playing in the background
@@TheDeathWillCome2012Its pretty intense, gravitron on steroids. Ive never gotten to ride gravitron but scat does the same thing but goes up and down and is in the open which i think makes it scarier. Im surprised i went on it lol
This ride is scarier than it looks. You feel gravity pulling you upwards like the ride is trying to make you fly out, because your laying at an angle.

I went on this ride yesterday at the Saint Mary's fair, and it was reY intense. Knowing that you have to stand as it's spinning, and you're neck feels weird after the ride.
Kenny Johnston in northern California had a bad ass scat back in the day. .awesome

I went on this ride yesterday at a fair and it may look scary, but it's kinda not. If you ever went on the ride Gravitation then you would know how it feels to squish your body against the wall, but it also feels like the ride is trying to fling you off since you laying at a certain angle, you feel weird and scared at the first 1 or 2 mins then you just feel fine afterwards.
Late reply but yea true, but for most of my ride was just saying "oh god oh god oh god" honestly it was a but scary cuz my legs went numb. Thankfully my mom was sitting beside me so she comforted me lol. It does try to kill you for sure though XD

This is a 20 seat Scat. I have seen 16 and 24 seat Scat rides also.

Hate this ride with a burning passion. The operator decided to make us spin for 5 whole minutes at maximum speed. Felt like I was gonna pass out, and got COVID from it as well.

Since I'm REALLY small for my age when I went on this ride the chain would not fit on me so I had to hold on for dear life....but that's aslo bc the one at my yearly fair went upside down

Yeah I got to agree on that. That ride is the best!!!!!
I know one thing. As much as I enjoyed this ride back in the day (when all I needed was Dramamine), today I'd need industrial-strength, prescription meds to keep from hurling. I'm 55, and believe me, were I to ride this today, I swear I'd feel 21 again!
