So they essentially brought back the old HUD and called it the Advanced HUD now? Thank God. I was getting so sick of the new one. This is actually such a nice addition.
The old HUD was built on different tech, the new HUD is built on new tech, so it stands to reason they would bring back a lot of the old features that worked but running on the new tech.
I also like that we get options now. Dashboard for the out of the way HUD style, advanced HUD for the in your face style. Both have their perks, and both have all the same info, just in different layouts. The dashboard style is really great for cargo/touring/exploration piloting, as it allows access to all the needed flight info, but in a way that doesn't obstruct your views out the window at all. Makes flying look nicer, and can be better for more relaxed, casual flights. It's also a lot closer to how IRL civilian cockpits are laid out, with most/all info being on MFDs and various dials and screens around the dash rather than projected on a HUD. The "Advanced" style is more akin to modern military HUD, sacrificing your clear view for much more direct access to all your flight info in one central place. Makes your vision more crowded, but means you don't have to dart your eyes all over the dashboard in a high performance situation like combat or racing.

The economy is literally coming in 4.0; that's why it's getting a full wipe so they can test the economy balance and start feeding the data into StarSim so the dynamic economy can start taking over. If they don't start testing now, then when?
Agree, as long as my polaris blows up by accidentally slowly ramming a pisces while docking they must keep the insurance claim as it is now. It can not be that due to a bug i loose my ship and have to pay to completely restock it again. And since all missions pay like complete shit in comparison to what restocking a polaris costs its a huge joke.
@Billy-bc8pk That is a good point, but what about game instability? I lost count of how many times I've to claim a ship due to losing it from game crashes, unexplained ship explosions, and other bugs. I've been a backer since 2013, and I won't repeat how much I have spent to back this game because I am a bit embarrassed about it, LOL. But, the fact CIG is trying to make every single aspect of this game as realistic as possible has created many annoying time sinks, and it's just getting worse. I am very worried about the game feeling like work, instead of a game. But as for ammo prices, I just don't think they should raise the prices so much until the servers and the game are stable. It is my opinion that balancing the economy should later when they are much closer to 1.0. There is still too much missing from the game, and adjusting prices on stuff is easy enough for the devs at a later time. Cheers my friend. 🍺🍺
@@CornOnTheCop Yes, I understand your point, but they are looking to bring StarSim online with the 4.0 branch, so they kind of need to start honing in on those data points now. I can understand the frustration of bugs, desync, and glitches, but they kind of have to start somewhere with getting those baselines set well ahead of 1.0 so they have a good, stable, dynamic economy for launch.
The rearming now needs the ability to select what we want to rearm. No need to rearm the expensive missiles if you don't use them and the ship is going to bug out sooner or later anyway. Especially on ships with large stores of missiles like the Andromeda.
You should check if you can restock your missiles/torps if you have some in the station's inventory where you are trying to restock. It would make the most sense that you would be required to have missiles either on hand (in station inventory), and just pay a small amount to have them installed. or be at a station with a shop that sells the type you have setup in the ship loadout where you are essentially buying the torps and paying the install fee at the pad. If push comes to shove, you can bring torps to a station and manually reload them in your hangar :\
If they reduce PDC accuracy by 50%, this makes sense. (To remove torpedoes) If they dont, well enjoy spending a volley of 4 S10 torps at an Idris to get 1 hit (if you are extremely lucky) and take down its health by 10%.. For 3.6 million UEC per 10% idris health removed.
Just love this - so easier to read info. Will the information be in the exact same place for any ship? But would prefer "landing gear successfully deployed" show as green, not red - since that normally means it does not work.
It's especially annoying in the polaris and corsair because the power off buttons are next to mfd arrows. They really need to tighten up the areas that pop up these buttons up into the selectable.
Overweight as a feature is something I know already exists with the hull c with a full load of cargo. On its own, the hull c can land and take off from a planet. Once you are fully loaded, no amount of boost or thrusters can stop a hull c from hitting the ground if it enters the atmosphere. Hence why the hull c is only meant to do cargo in space. So maybe this icon will come up in this kind of scenario now.
Finally some good UI, now I don’t need to spend hours at drake ships looking for boost indicators or speed limits, next one - UI at centre, that shows enemy ships around you - time to make it work again
does the station you tried rearming at actually offer rearm services at all? asking cause i have away for work and unable to play SC or watch videos :)
So if the "advanced" hud is just the old one we had, does that mean we could get an "advanced" flight model that is also just the old one that MM took away?
Last I checked, ships don't reset between PTU Patches unless they explicitly say so. It's likely the ship is being counted as being already first spawned from a previous 4.0 PTU.
Its the same bug that happens when you use up your missiles and re arm wont work and you store the ship and open the loadout. The missile slots are just blank
A full stock of air. Then they change you 9k for 3 flairs. 3k a flair is pretty expensive. I like the accessibility of all the information on the new hud.
@@scrap_er Bro, they literally have made very clear MANY times that things like that were going to need to be purchased. And it's not the only weapon, regardless. If you thought those expensive torps were going to be free forever, that's crazy. Literally everyone knew it was a workaround to the point that it's literally jokingly called insurance fraud.
with the current price changes, missiles and bombs are not something a new player should use, ever. cant afford that, not even with extended game knowledge..
if we had an alternative (crafting) this change would be okay, but at least for now while we dont have crafting the prices are a touch high. They should be cut in half in price. Just torps, rockets/missiles are okay imo.
so long as i can continue to restock missiles via the ship rearm i dont care i just dont wanna have to fly all the way to random places to get more missiles because everus or seraphim doesnt sell them especially with how annoying it is to haul them in bulk
Unrelated, but one thing I really don't like about the Eclipse is how it is treated like a fighter from the cockpit standpoint, especially since its design looks to be heavily influenced by a B-2 or other bombers. Really wish it had some kind of intererior.
Its not balanced that only the torpedo boats spawn spawn without weapons. To be balanced, all ships should spawn with no weapons at all.. @@callsigngrimdoll
@@scrap_er It's to stop the dupe of not having to pay for torpedoes for a capital ship. Yes, it's balance. Torps not respawning when you go to repair is a bug. But yes you should have to pay for one of the most powerful damage dealers in the game rather than just abandoning your ship to avoid paying for them.
As long as when we claim we get the missiles that were not fired back. Hate to lose millions because the hanger doors looked clear, ship phased through the panet or an asteroid dident render. And manual restocking choices
Nice touch the new MFD, tnx CIG ❤ CIG can fight insurance fraud when the game will be stable and running good. But if they implement insurance fraud policies right now, bugs game instability, server crapping players gameplay... Well it will make the game impossible.
12 years and they still try to push hollywood bullcrap visuals into a game people need to USE the HUD interface not just look at it for 3 seconds on the screen. Should never use icons where text indicators are better. Little glyph of landing gear or gsafe requires brain to decode the shape and then interpret the meaning while text is instant. They also made those glyphs MOVE in a rotation as you turn them on or off which will cause issues using them in stressful situations. Finally, once again, they forgot to put the acceleration limiter setting indicator.
I found the new hub very visually polluted. The mechanics are good but I like a minimalist screen to have a good view of the outside without visual pollution
Overweight symbol would have helped with Argo mpvu tractor. That thing can lift exactly nothing in gravity. Was sitting there wondering why it wouldn't lift off until i removed some boxes.
The UI improvement is great but the missle update idk what CIG was thinking. The restock price is too high. Given how unreliable missles are , the new PDC systems, and mainly the rate at which you can earn money. 14 million to restock a polaris is insane
So you are saying that if the game bugs out and i need to reclaim the Polaris, it will have NO torps?! A few torps cost already more then some whole ships to buy in-game… they should leave it as part of the basic loadout when spawning/reclaiming ship. But just increase the claim time based on the components and armaments that need to be replaced…. Nobody is going to insurance fraud a Polaris if they got to wait nearly 2 hours…
So there's a known bug that your missiles disappear from the loadout if you reclaim without restocking, so then you can't restock anymore, you have to go to the shop and buy missiles. So who thought it would be a good idea to make this a default feature. It was painful to get missiles in the first place with restocking being bugged or the shops being far away. Missile gameplay is just non existent except for in trailers

I have always loved that skin on the Eclipse.
This is just awesome. We should have had this a long time ago, but I guess it took them awhile to get into building blocks.
i'm glad finally someone in cig know how hud should look
I wonder if the overweight indicator appears when you load the MPUV Tractor because right now, it can't take off when fully loaded
I like that they gave us our HUD back. Great update on that part.
If they reduce PDC accuracy by 50%, this makes sense. (To remove torpedoes)
If they dont, well enjoy spending a volley of 4 S10 torps at an Idris to get 1 hit (if you are extremely lucky) and take down its health by 10%..
For 3.6 million UEC per 10% idris health removed.
Just love this - so easier to read info. Will the information be in the exact same place for any ship?
But would prefer "landing gear successfully deployed" show as green, not red - since that normally means it does not work.
Seeing exit Zero G pop up ever 2 seconds freaks me out. That needs to go now.
Don't you wish to answer the Call of the Void? :D
It's especially annoying in the polaris and corsair because the power off buttons are next to mfd arrows. They really need to tighten up the areas that pop up these buttons up into the selectable.
are the missile not in the your inventory your local?
Why is there no keybind for this and any of the new functions like deplor armour shielding????
FoxyLoxy, renowned torpedo black marketeer! Cheeky!
What if I never shot any? Do I lose them ?
If you lost the whole ship I would say so xD
Just adjust the claim price based on loadout
yea, and then you'll have 28x400K=11mil claim price for Polaris, nice
Don’t shoot sh*t you can’t afford lol
@@alexpetrov8871 maybe then... add two buttons? claim with ammo or claim just the ship?
HUGE kudos to CIG for giving us back our hud. Now if we can get it to defaul.
I have been having ptoblems withmy altimeter disappearing from my HUD. After a while it disappears and it never comes back until I claim the ship.
How do I switch between the different sub-modes of NAV (SCN, QT and FLT)? And GUN, MIS and SCN mode of SCM?
Overweight as a feature is something I know already exists with the hull c with a full load of cargo.
On its own, the hull c can land and take off from a planet.
Once you are fully loaded, no amount of boost or thrusters can stop a hull c from hitting the ground if it enters the atmosphere. Hence why the hull c is only meant to do cargo in space.
So maybe this icon will come up in this kind of scenario now.
Would you be able to share the picture of the advanced HUD icons with the description for each symbol that you showed?
Thanks for all you hard work
Finally some good UI, now I don’t need to spend hours at drake ships looking for boost indicators or speed limits, next one - UI at centre, that shows enemy ships around you - time to make it work again
Thin bar is acceleration vector, thick bar is velocity vector
how does the adv hud look on planets and with hopefully an altimeter in view?
How to stack the flares?
I hope we get options to hide or move specific hud elements soon
at 2:12 was your hydrogen fuel being used just from being on is that finally a thing?
Absolutely Love this!
Can you try buying a missile from a weapons shop and then equipping it through mobiglass?
Omg this is awesome!!! Finally!!! It's just a pity about the torpedo bug is all.
"This function is currently broken" sums up star citizen
does the station you tried rearming at actually offer rearm services at all? asking cause i have away for work and unable to play SC or watch videos :)
Have the fixed the altimeter?
What is the name of the cool white Eclipse skin please?
Cleaned up old hud, they are learning from the MM mistakes for sure its just gonna take a bit to get ot back.
The white and gold livery on the eclipse is sick.
Did you check if they were unequipped in the ship loadout?
Very important fix from CIG to fuck up ships with torps... Slow clap.
Please. If you thought it was intentional gameplay to get all the torps/bombs back for free on a reclaim, you were being delusional.
@@XShadowAngel bro its the main weapon of the ship. In this case every other ship should spawn with 0 guns and 0 ammo to be fair
@@XShadowAngel Yup. And they said there will be loops themed around insurance fraud and preventing it.
@XShadowAngel during citcon they said that insurance would give back the ship WITH THE BASE WEAPONS not HALF OF IT
What is a good way for a new player to learn how to fire missiles or drop bombs?
with the current price changes, missiles and bombs are not something a new player should use, ever. cant afford that, not even with extended game knowledge..
if we had an alternative (crafting) this change would be okay, but at least for now while we dont have crafting the prices are a touch high. They should be cut in half in price. Just torps, rockets/missiles are okay imo.
so wait you cant rearm torps or missiles on a pad or hangar or was this a bug? or do you need to manually rearm torps and shit
so long as i can continue to restock missiles via the ship rearm i dont care i just dont wanna have to fly all the way to random places to get more missiles because everus or seraphim doesnt sell them especially with how annoying it is to haul them in bulk
thank you for the information
I think Tuesday was December 3rd and Thursday was December 5th cause today is Friday it's December 6th?
Just need the ol check engine light and we're all set!
Pls no, I can totally see Chris adding service intervals for regular maintenence and mechanic gameplay to give engineers something to do xD
Unrelated, but one thing I really don't like about the Eclipse is how it is treated like a fighter from the cockpit standpoint, especially since its design looks to be heavily influenced by a B-2 or other bombers. Really wish it had some kind of intererior.
Overweight is maybe when you put to many staff on your ship?
ahhh the money sinks begin. I bet the overweight thing is in reference to cargo and Weight and Balance
It's called balance.
next up they will sell you auec on the store page.
Its not balanced that only the torpedo boats spawn spawn without weapons. To be balanced, all ships should spawn with no weapons at all.. @@callsigngrimdoll
@@the_babbleboom they've been selling uec since 2018 (probably before but i don't know that for certain).
Thst's a pretty interesting new HUD. Nice.
Nice touch the new MFD, tnx CIG ❤
CIG can fight insurance fraud when the game will be stable and running good.
Why tf would anyone want to take away the holographic hud elements they’re like the primary things lmao
looks like we are supposed to choose, advanced or the other one. but not both at the same time.
no ammo/overheat still? wtf cig
I feel like the advanced hud is just returning back to the old hud. Much of that info is already displayed on the mfds and dash
Very interesting video.
I like these changes 👌
Thank you!
If I'm not doing combat i actually like the hud we have now. Nothing blocking my view
The previous horrid HUD ate up what little overhead was left of my 24 core 14900HX CPU I could gain 100fps just powering off my ship.
First thing i did when i saw this and the price increase is melt my eclipse, fck this, gonna be rich IRL AND in game to play a single seat ship i like now, great. i'll stay with my cheap cutlass and my 2 size 2 on my terrapin medical
As much as I like the new look of the HUD, I don't think I will use it, because I love the clean look without it.
I guarantee the tops o that eclipse are in inventory and we're not equipped on initial spawn, common bug I encounter even in live.
I've been wanting them to get rid of more things on the hud not add more! I absolutely hate the fact that we can never get rid of the minimap when in first person mode, even without a helmet the map is still there which makes no sense
Why do we have to chase that Wakapedia guy's messages to know where the patches are going?
