    Ingredients:
    400g sago
    About 800ml - 1 litre Boiling water
    1 can (400ml) coconut cream
    1 teaspoon of salt
    300g gula melaka (Palm Sugar)
1 cup (250ml) water - to be boiled with gula melaka
    3 pandan leaves - knotted
    Equipment needed
    Pots
Mini muffin trays with removable bottom.
    Instructions:
1.In a pot, boil water. Gradually stir in the sago into boiling water to cook until it turns translucent. Stirring occasionally so its not sticking to your pot.
    2. Then rinse sago under running water to remove starch in order to have firmer sago puddings.
    3. Pour sago into small bowls or in a muffin pan. Keep them in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
    4. Boil coconut with salt. Set aside.
5.In a pot, melt gula melaka in water over low to medium heat along with pandan leaves. Mix well and set aside. Leave coconut cream and palm sugar to cool to room temperature.
    6. Once sago pudding is ready, unmould the sago pudding to a serving plate, pour some coconut milk on it and drizzle gula melaka syrup over it. Yum! Enjoy!

@loibeeji2207 Sago pudding will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days in air tight container, and up to 3 months in the freezer. Freeze in individual, freezer-safe containers. Defrost overnight in the fridge. Happy cooking and enjoy!😋

my sago became super gooey. I'm not sure what went wrong :(
I waited till water was boiling before i put in the ago, boiled till transparent, switched off fire, cover for 5 mins and then rinse but was all a a crazy starch mess. i had a hard time washing the utensils too :(

MISTAKE 1: WASHING THE SAGO before cooking
MISTAKE 2: USING TAP WATER .
“Same principle as above. Sago must be added to boiling water. This way, the outermost layer of the sago pearl gets cooked instantaneously, forming a seal around the sago pearl.”
MISTAKE 3: BOILING FOR TOO LONG
“After boiling for about 10-12 minutes, the outside of the sago is cooked, but the centres are still opaque. You may then think that you should continue boiling the sago. But what happens is that the outer layers which are already cooked will begin to disintegrate into starch if you boil beyond 15 minutes.”
Maybe one of the above check point is the result of your super gooey sago?? Hope it helps! Maybe try again?? Practice make perfect 😃
All the best n happy cooking! 😊
