      Lydon had been his wife’s full time care giver for many years. She recently passed from Alzheimer’s. Anyone that has been in this position would understand your time is not your own and your needs come after if at all. Most could not endure such a situation for a sustained period of time. Particularly when you have to watch your partner disappear more and more with each passing day. Lydon did so for several years.

    One thing that sucks royally about getting older is that all the people you knew and loved for decades start dropping off one by one, and you're lucky to have maybe a small handful left at the end of it all. You reminisce about times when you were younger, happier and healthier, and this wave of sadness hits you like a ton of bricks. You wonder what the hell it's all for, and at the end of the day, all you have is a boatload of questions, zero answers and a giant hole in your heart that loved ones used to occupy when they were alive. The only thing that keeps me from going completely over the edge is having faith that maybe, just maybe, I'll see those people again when it's my turn to go. I mean, if there will never be another time when I get to see my grandmother's smiling face again, or get to hear the hearty laugh or hilarious jokes of a good friend I used to know, then I don't know how I'll be able to maintain my sanity. What would be the point of having close bonds with someone if a day will come when that person is forever ripped away from you, never to be seen or heard from again? That level of grimness seems so cold and inhuman to me. The uncertainty of it all is what really kills me. Nobody really knows for sure what lies ahead -- believer and non-believer alike. I hope by the grace of God there is something after this life, because I want to hug my grandmother again, tell her how much I missed her, and pick up where I left off, never to be separated from her and others I love ever again. I want to make amends with those I for whom I never got to apologize. I want to know what God's reason is for allowing life on Earth to be so hellish for people like John Lydon and others who suffer in their own way. I want those answers, that happiness, and that peace of mind that always seems to elude me in this life. I want to face each day knowing worry, pain, suffering, death and other horrible things are no longer the order of the day. Maybe this is all a pipe dream, or maybe it isn't, but who's to say for sure? I just want things to be right by myself and all of mankind and for everybody to find the answers they're looking for. I don't know how I can drive my point home any further or help anyone gain a finer understanding of it, so I guess I'll just leave my ramblings as they are. Keep faith and hope alive, because when it's all said and done, that's really all we have. God bless you all.

      It goes without saying. You touched on everything important though. Leaving sentimentality aside however... I don't see how such a grand notion as seeing loved ones again, is even remotely possible.
      If it can be true for you, then it is true for everyone else too. But think of just the logistics of all those souls!
      I abandoned the word "hope" from my lexicon as it seems to be a scam to build people up. but with no solid foundation behind it.
      But, that being said, i still would like to 'hope' that you might be right. God bless...

    • @_acidhyena_
      @_acidhyena_ 2 роки тому +3

      Just like you guys said i hope that at least there's gonna be something on the other side, but as far as i know, that "fantasy of life full of happiness" it's just that, a fantasy. I don't trust on any kind of god, but i respect if someone chose to believe in god cause i think that is good to have something to live for... the "heaven" you know.
      But as soon as you start to think in this kind of religious things i can't stop thinking about how no one can prove anything of that. And then you have the infinite question about what is the significant of life? What is my purpose on all of this? What are supposed to do everyone?
      We made our reality of born, learn, work and die, but just because whe don't have nothing else to do, and for some people that's seems to be perfect so, on what we ended up?
      I really like the idea of be able to see again my families who are no longer with me but that "hope" that you have seems to fictional, like a history on a book made by the same people who make the "reality" on what we live on.
      Just for not ending being pessimist, if you think that you gonna be able to live in peace on the other life and thats make you feel better, keep thinking that and someday... i hope it would be real for you.
      And antes de que me vaya ;) sorry if i write wrong, i never studied english i just suddenly one day i started to understand it by listening music all days. Jaja bueno ahora si me voy bye bye

    Poor John, imagine being in a band with people you had grown to only just really know. Then due to corrupt management you feel you are unable to continue as the lies and rumours have got too much to handle so ultimately you decide to put a full stop to it and leave it in the past and continue to do new things with other people only to find out one of your best mates had died of an overdose. Later on in life you decide that you would like to return back with your old mates as not only a final goodbye to them but to put an end to it's history. You meet up with them and are still unable to get money to fund it. You ultimately give up. You've already lost alot of people and the bestest friends you ever had are simply ignoring you because 'there's something about you that they can't put their finger on.'
    Although the guy can be loud and excitable and even at times pretentious what you need to understand is he's done alot in his time and he's been to alot of places. Some very dark places even. I have the utmost respect for this man. Being from the uk and also being quite old, I was lucky enough to see The Sex Pistols twice and P.I.L once. I respect him for being so honest and open. He doesn’t lie, he has no need to and in the music industry that is a rare quality. He has been with his wife Nora sine the 70’s and has been extremely loyal and faithful. Going so far as to say that he “despises groupies with every fibre of his being”. I think that maybe Nancy Spungen has something to do with this, but I don’t know for sure. He’s struggling to cope with Nora’s Alzheimer’s Disease and he looks like the shadow of his former self. It makes me so fucking angry that he is now being lambasted because of his changed appearance. Spitefully mocking his weight gain and haggard appearance. It’s heartbreaking. One thing that my mother instilled in my brother and I when we were able to understand (and something I vehemently stick to to this very day) was “If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all.

    We all love you Johnny, I was 6 when you first came out and I remember going to a record store in Corby Town centre with my mates older brother to get Never mind the bollocks because I wasn't old enough you had to be 18 i think, all the bands now are hear because of the Pistols, they wouldn't be the same had the pistols not happen, you steared music and culture away from the normal and I aswell as a lot of people are forever grateful for that. Thank you Johnny we love you.....

    Johnny Rotten, more than 40 years later and still a true punk. Also good to see the first Ramones LP on the table.

    It's not even the same shit anymore. I've been clean little over a year but recently lost one of my best friends of 30 years. We started hanging out in the 7th grade 1993. Even got into punk music together. RIP Joey. I'll miss you bro.

    He's quite the bloke. Loved his edge in the day. Loved his uncompromising opinons on everything and everyone. My childhood friends are all gone. I'm friends with their families & children...but it's not the same. Drugs and Suicide are the ill's before health declining had a chance. I miss them everyday. Johnny's a great husband. Artist and human. 😉👍
