"The will to live is Stronger than anything" Thank you for helping me with my fathers passing kenshin 😞 this show has taught me lessons that's guided me throughout life
That's an interesting spin on something I never considered! Kenshin and Shishio might actually have THE SAME philosophy, but their vision of the environment was completely different. While Kenshin's view of the environment during the Meiji was one in which peace would come about slowly through social justice, Shishio's perception was that of the revolution's environment. So their seemingly opposing viewpoints stem not from different philosophies but from different views of their environment!
"Los mejores espadachines pueden adivinar el movimiento que el adversario va a ejecutar, cuando puede captar su sentimiento agresivo, pero eso no funciona en Soujiro."
How does this not have 500k views yet? One of the best songs off the series. Mellow yet it has its intense parts to reflect a change in mood during the show/fight.
this song always reminds me of when kenshin was fighting aoshi, seijuro and shishio. I love it. Nice violin pieces. I'll learn to play it someday!! five fools disliked this piece. this is a masterpiece...hear how many different instruments are in this. listen carefully.
For this same reason, Kenshin is my hero, since he follows his standards of humanity, no matter what! "That's not reasoning, that's the natural law" "Even if it's natural law, I will be against it!" That's what it means to be human, to evolve! By surrendering to Shishio's law, you declare that you haven't evolved far from animals! Unfortunately, most people follow the law of the strongest nowadays. That doesn't take much courage, actually, to play by society's rules, think about it.
Kenshin's way of life is way more absurd, but more brave, than Shishio's, and earns greatest respect ever! Reminds me of Albert Camu's philosophy. To live for your standards, even if you know you fail in the end.
From this point of view, it is brave to live in the way to which society is not used to. You won't be successful by its standards, but you will show other possibilities for people to unite and live. That's how society itself evolves.
As much as I hate to say it, I actually subscribe to Shishio's philosophy more than Kenshin's now. I used to follow Kenshin's mindset when I was younger, but I find that Shishio's mentality is essential to thrive in today's flailing economy. Those who can adapt best to the changing economy, those who push themselves to their limits, those who are most connected... they succeed in tough times. That's just a law of nature.
Definition of dignity: The quality or state of being worthy of esteem or respect. From my observations, both esteem and respect are earned as opposed being freely given away as 'rights'. As human beings, we are entitled to very little, namely, free thinking and creativity. Whatever else we need/desire needs to be acquired through effort.
* Song starts* Hiko: I'll give you one night. search carefully within your soul and find the things that you're missing If you can't, not only will you be throwing away the final secret...... Kenshin: (in his mind) but I'll be throwing my life away as well.......
I think there will always be the strong to stand up for the weak. To give them a quality of life they couldn't have had otherwise. Wherever a tyrant rises, a rebel opposes. Wherever evil is, goodness is not far away.
Good points in what you said. You're right that there are many def's of strength. Strength, more generally, is "fitness" in some "environment" where that environment is up to you. So I was focusing on economic success since today's economic environment is tough to get a job in. But it could be other environments: the Olympics, chess competitions, UA-cam, etc. The child analogy doesn't work though, since "Shishio's law" is: 'In the end, only the fittest survive.' which means it requires time.
that was not shishios mind set. Kenshins mindset wasnt about staying attached to the past and failing to adapt but as kenshin adapted and changed through the anime he stayed true to trying to help others while shishio continued to use the weak as fuel for his strength and feeds on others instead of helping others and allowing the connections between other people to grow and assist you.
This abandoning is a cruel yet truthful reflection of how governments (and people too to some extent) are self-preserving variants of nature whose impulses to be empathetic are overridden by their need for survival.
man this track depresses me; the music reflects on some cruel truth about life or some horrible tragedy; its as if something's gone awry. However its beautiful anyways
Yeah you are right about more than most of that, but can we really consider ourselves successful if we must trample over others to get where we want in life? Shishio believed in the survival of the fit only, the weak were nothing more than pawns to keep himself ahead of the game, which indirectly led him to his death (his battle with Kenshin that pushed him far past what his body could handle). I just believe those who are mindful to the weak and care for all are the successful ones in life :D
lol amazing how 1 second of strange noise can startle you ^^ for a second i thought my pc was possessed by some spirit.... -_- anyway great soundtrack! thanks for bring back some good memories :D
@dejabu24 I hope you read the manga, since if you did you would understand that this was made first a studio who just picked up the series. Second, the whole story is about Kenshin and his trials. This was nothing more then some filler that they wanted to use. I will agree that was it was good but it was not needed. What was needed is the real ending to the story, animated to the level of a full season. There was a lot that happened that needed to be shown.
"The will to live is Stronger than anything"
Thank you for helping me with my fathers passing kenshin 😞 this show has taught me lessons that's guided me throughout life
Sorry for your loss :(
If you're strong you live, if you're weak you die..
J Stark amen
Shishio is very satan
Sojiro, his past in the anime hit me from left field. I would've never guessed :/. This song breaks my heart for the little kid.
"the weak shall perish and the strong shall survive its just human nature" Quoted by Shishio
1:48 a brief moment of some soul music and clap
wth? xd
"If you are strong you live, if you are weak you die"
-Makoto Shishio

not only a good show but it had great music. really gave an incite to the characters and set the mood
I love this song, so many emotions within this melody

Reminds me of Albert Camu's philosophy. To live for your standards, even if you know you fail in the end.
Mannn, one of the best anime soundtracks
This brings back memories.
Good upload.
Best music for a stormy night
this song makes any conversation they have serious, no matter what they are talking about.
From this point of view, it is brave to live in the way to which society is not used to. You won't be successful by its standards, but you will show other possibilities for people to unite and live. That's how society itself evolves.
Very good extended version of this song, magnificent electro and classic mix.

See? This is what i love about most of the people who watch rurouni kenshin. you can have debates without defending your opinions with name calling.
"I went out of my way with eyes opened to choose the path to chaos." - Aoshi Shinomori
Utter BEAUTY! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better 2:00 starts!!
if you are strong you live if you are weak you die. the weak are the food of the strong.
I did not realize until now that I was looking for a song like this!

This abandoning is a cruel yet truthful reflection of how governments (and people too to some extent) are self-preserving variants of nature whose impulses to be empathetic are overridden by their need for survival.
I miss this anime even tho it came out a year before I was born
Cue dark and grim flashback...
search for "video to mp3" on google or something and go to the first link. it's pretty self explainitary, but extremely useful.
man this track depresses me; the music reflects on some cruel truth about life or some horrible tragedy; its as if something's gone awry. However its beautiful anyways
it reminds me of young Soujiro Seta with his cruel past.

Shishio may have made a case for survival in the world. But I'd rather have a heart than take one.
