- Do you want to know which are the best beaches in Koh Lanta? Explore the beautiful Koh Lanta beaches with me in my Koh Lanta Beach Guide designed to help you decide where to stay on Koh Lanta!
This Thailand Travel video is part of a series of videos from Koh Lanta, so if you enjoyed this video don't forget to check out more of my Koh Lanta videos here:

This Koh Lanta Beach Guide starts at the north of Koh Lanta island with Klong Dao beach, the closest beach to Saladan Pier which will be your port of entry to Koh Lanta. Next up is Phra Ae beach, better known by tourists and travelers as Long Beach, and probably the best known beach on Koh Lanta. From here join me on a Koha Lanta beach tour heading all the way down to Bamboo Beach (also known as Ao Mai Phai) just north of the Mu Koh Lanta National Park.
Along the way there are plenty of other beaches including and Klong Nin which is a popular sunset spot for visitors to Koh Lanta and my personal favourite beach on Koh Lanta which is at Ao Nui Bay.
Other Koh Lanta beaches include Kantiang Bay which has a beautiful wide beach and caters to luxury travellers, while Klong Jark Beach has just a handful of accommodation options and Klong Khong is popular with backpackers.
I hope your enjoy the video, and add your comment below if you have any questions or if you want to share your experience.

Koh Lanta is a chilled out Thai Island rather than one with a party vibe, and that suits me perfectly! It has everything from Luxury 5 star Resorts to budget accommodation perfect for backpackers, and from busy beaches to beaches with nothing at all!
It looks lovely!! Thanks for the video. 😊
Such blue waters there... Soo beautiful... 😊
Great idea about putting the map of the island up Simon.
Thank you Elena, I have been trying to find a good way of using maps in some of my travel guide videos so I am really glad you liked it!
Wow I wished I've stayed in Koh Lanta a bit longer. I only stayed in Koh Lanta for 1 night - came from Koh Phi Phi which I stayed for 3 nights, took the ferry from there to Koh Lanta and stayed around Klong Dao for 1 night only and visited Long Beach as well, then took the ferry to Koh Lipe the next day where I stayed for 3 nights. Now I wished I've stayed in Koh Lanta an extra 2 days now. Thanks for the video Simon - this was a very informative video of the island. I think I will have to think about another trip to Thailand as I still need to visit Chiang Mai as well. I went to most of the known islands like Koh Tao, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket (twice), Krabi (twice), Koh Lipe (twice including a day trip from Langkawi in Malaysia) plus Bangkok too so I guess one more Thai trip for me again - more likely in January or February as this is the time I would normally visit Thailand or Malaysia or Singapore.
Great stuff Simon, your secret beach is safe with us and Thanks!! From a fellow Brit!!
Really useful video for anyone wondering where to stay on Koh Lanta. The map of Koh Lanta showing where all the beaches are is a nice touch 👍
Koh Lanta has accommodation and beaches to suite everyone! So glad you found the video useful, hope you enjoyed watching it too.
Ive seen videos of Koh Lanta but this is the only one that convinced me to visit the island 😊 nice and informative; thank you 👍🏻

臨裴 Thankyou so much I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and to give me feedback. I really enjoyed making this guide to Koh Lanta Beaches but the main aim was to create a useful video for those wanting to visit Koh Lanta so it makes me very happy to know that you thought it was useful.
Great video. Watched a lot of koh lanta beach videos in preparation of my honeymoon in a couple weeks and this is by far the best. Thank you!
Amazing guide mate, personally i stay at Klong nin when i stay on lanta
Thank you, Simon!
Beautiful video and amazing beach. Greetings and best wishes. 👍25
Thank you Greg! Koh Lanta has some amazing beaches. Time for something new now though starting with Jakarta in Indonesia.
Great information great filming technique set your videos apart from many others but I would tone down that music and possibly even make it something more casual and softer
Thank you for your review, it's great information. :)
Glad it was helpful! Are you planning a trip to Koh Lanta and Thailand?
good job Simon, this was really useful :)
Happy to help, I hope you have a lovely visit to Koh Lanta it's a beautiful island.
i love how you speak with rhythm heheh youre so cute x
Good intro Simon.
Thanks Raymond! Glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
Fantastic video, thank you. One quick question, I'm visiting Koh Lanta for 5 nights at the end of December with my family (my parents in their 70s and my kids, 7 & 14). Apart from the very quiet beaches, are sunbeds and umbrellas available to rent for the day??
Wonderful video. We are deciding between Koh Samui and Koh Lanta after seeing your reviews.
Do we have to watch out for monkeys and or dogs on most of these beaches?
Thanks Kimberley, in general on most beaches its not a problem especially the busier ones, on the quiet beaches on Koh Lanta in the far south monkies can sometimes raid bags and grab food, drinks, suntan lotion but on the main beaches they dont show up, random dogs wander everywhere and generally not a problem, I wouldnt recommend petting them!
Between Samui and Lanta I would say Samui is the busier more developed island with more visitors and well geared up for tourism while Lanta is much less developed, quieter and less organised, Samui probably has the better beaches but Lantas beaches are much quieter, so if you want quiet no crowds, cheaper prices but less tourism infrastructure Lanta is great, if you want more people, activities, places to eat, more resort options, lots of choices and a more polished service Samui is better for that.
Hope this helps you choose the best option for your trip, if you have any more questions let me know. Simon
Very useful thank you

@@TravelwithSimon Yeah in January for 3 days as a single traveller
I think you'll love it, I hope so! Where else in Thailand will you be travelling to?
@@TravelwithSimon So far I've planned railay, phangan and samui then Ko lanta

"Good...Morning."
😊
Good Morning Milind Paricharak! 😎 Thank you for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate the support. I hope you enjoy my next vlog too out today (Sunday).
I like NUAL Beach on Koh Lanta. I go there 2 days a week. Great beach, relatively clean. Not too noisy on weekdays. A 15 min moto Taxi ride from the main Pier.
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely need to visit that next time I am on Koh Lanta. Are you staying on Koh Lanta long term?
@@TravelwithSimon
I'm not long term on Koh Lanta. I stay in Jomtien Beach.
I wonder what happened to Bamboo beach, there used to be some hotels not too long ago, maybe 3 years ago? Biggest was at the north end of the beach
Thant's interesting Mika, I don't remember seeing any sign of hotels at Bamboo beach when I was there. I will have to look more carefully next time I visit Koh Lanta. Do you have plans to visit again?
@@TravelwithSimon most likely we'll visit again. Been there three times now, stood at Bamboo Beach on one of the trip! So it was weird seeing the beach so empty
It will be very interesting to hear how it has changed since your last visit to Koh Lanta, let me know!
Was it any problem to fly your drone at Koh Lanta ?
Thailand now requires a licence for flying drones in the country, it takes about 6 months to process but can be done with the help of the DJI store in Bangkok. As always when flying a drone anywhere I kept away from all authorities and anything official looking, and in all the flights I flew on Koh Lanta no-one ever had any issues with me when I was flying.
@@TravelwithSimon...ok..i have been at Ao Nang 2017...and it was no problem to fly..i always ask beach guard (if i see one) and resort nearly beach...and have fly with my brain...in sight, not at to dark and over group of people.
Travel with Timmy Mallet more like.
