I've been staying away from thrift stores for this reason. Sure, every once in a while I found a great score, but more often I would just grab a handful of things because they were cheap and I was aware of the band. Now, here they sit. VC videos also fire me up to buy stuff...I hear a 30 second clip and excitedly buy it, then sometimes when I get it I wonder what I was so excited about. Hi Anthony, you hade me at OMD for a dollar. I love your life mantra, of staying away from negative energy as well. It’s something I am learning late in life myself and am much happier for it. I have never bought collections but I have made some regrettable decisions. I could use a small purging on my side as well.

Well said. So many people who make vinyl videos on You Tube claim to collectors but they are just accumulators of the medium. So many people are displayers and not curators. I'm an adherent of a practice called Swedish Death Cleaning, and the philosophy applies to vinyl, books, clothes, whatever. Everything except guitars, it would seem. Whatever is not going to survive you, you don't need to cling on to. Well done on making a tough choice for the right reason.

I do not usually find records anymore for one doller. I have found some for the price of a cup of coffee. " Graceland " is a fantastic album, and i actually have that Dean Martin album. Its the " Die Hard " album, the songs from " Winter Wonderland " are on the movie Die Hard. And Finally, MR LOVERMAN..SHABBA!, SHABBA!, SHABBA!

Great finds. I don't know if I have ever yet seen any Sinatra in local thrift stores. I have been seriously trying to focus on what I buy like you say, but still stumble quite often. I could/should seriously purge my stuff too. I could easily drop at least a few hundred. I took about 100 to my local store, but it was filled with some obscure metal, and so they only ended up taking about 30 of them, and I ended up getting about $3 an album, which hurt me inside - ha ha. I think I need to start my purge with those thrift store type albums I've accumulated just because. Then "giving them away" wouldn't hurt at all.

I knew if I took these albums to a store I would get pennies for them, so I went to PLAN “B,” which was Marketplace & priced them right to get a nice return while also giving the purchaser a fantastic deal. Hey my man, how are you? First I wanna say that my Elvis spins are in and shared with my community. He was one of the first spun in my household when younger, would dance with my mom, good times… Second great great vinyl finds and the Metallica CD must be so good. And thirdly well, I totally get where you’re coming from with the purge and damn I could get rid of so many (Streisand, Sonny & Cher etc…). If I was still in my beginnings and did not commit to spinning on multiple platforms for thousands of reminiscing followers I would… But now I pull out a Streisand album, not for me but for them and am so happy to be hearing their stories and memories from shows, personal, relationship, am living it and makes me happy… When I decide to stop this VL Journey, I will purge at least 1000 albums… For now, God’s work, for the VL ✌🏼♥️

I agree with you. Albums should go to people who want to enjoy them. Flippers ruin that for the common guy. Sounds like you want to be a music lover and not a record collector. I know what you mean. Hey Anthony! I'm with you. It is a pain to list them, which is why I have been purging CD's, I'm guessing I have given away close to that number by now. They were a bad investment, so my broker or bookie isn't giving me a refund. Let someone else enjoy/suffer with them. Maybe they hear something I didn't. It is actually quite liberating. Cheers!
