Fela you never die. You are so genuine. Though the tyrant are taking their time to reform. One day they shall hear your eloquent message.

There are some things that words cannot capture. Like the smell of akara or taste of abula. There is no english for eregemiti! This is Magic from Alchemist !

@loko4191141 remmy was good but tony was the glue for afrobeat rhtyhms. tony allen is one of the best drummers of all time even fela said without tony no afrobeat. his ability to syncopate a groove while locked in the pocket all while double kicking the bass drum and keeping the hi hat open is wonderful. lets not add his ability to roll and switch from french grip to matchstick inbetween rolls and you get a master drummer who created at least 40 different drum patterns ( my count)

One of the ONLY two purely instrumental cuts released by the great Fela Anikulapo Kuti. This is Jazz at its best whether "Afro" or "Mainstream".

It's somewhat fortuitous then as this is the first thing I've knowingly heard by Fela Kuti and just happened to chance upon it. By and large I don't like vocals. This reminds me slightly of Miles around the Bitches Brew period if he'd been a little less afraid of melody. This is great but not as good as the Adam and the Ants song of the same name though !
