    I will be showing this to my daughter, I tried to explain this to her but you have done a much better job than me. We picked up a super pastel, mojave, special, pinstripe at the weekend and we were discussing how she would work into next years breeding. This will help a lot. Many thanks! and have a good trip.

      Awesome. Check out my genetic series where I use this method to cover dominant, co-dominant and recessive genes and work through the concept of hets. It's a bit tough to work through in one go, but I try to keep it nice and simple, which is how it should be. Scientists should make concepts accessible! You have a lot of genes stacked up in that powerhouse female, but work through each gene systematically, stack up the probabilities and you'll see what she can do for you and the best male to breed her with. If you let me know your proposed pairings, I'll do a genetics video on just that for you. It would be fun and I think my subscribers would enjoy it.

      @@RobertBarracloughRoyalBalls The female is the super pastel, mojave, special, pinstripe and the male will be a banana, enchi, blade, clown. We are looking to do some things with clowns and we thought this looks like a good way push this forward.

      I can get geeky with the best, but there really isn't any need to. Ball Python genetics is half biology, half statistics. You can always break it down to 4 possible outcomes. You have to do each gene separately then stack up the probability, but this method works and is easy to understand. 1 in 4 (25%) chance of a vanilla cream, 1 in 2 (50%) chance of pastel means with an 8 egg clutch I'll get 2 vanilla cream clowns, one of which will be pastel. That's the statistical average.....we're always trying to beat the odds gods! Allelic combos work a bit different, in that 2 different genes act like a super form, but there is still only 4 outcomes. I hope this came across in the video. I think this genetic stuff is really cool and you quickly learn to do it in your head and think of all projects in this way.

      @@RobertBarracloughRoyalBalls Thank you for the reply. So with the Allelic Combos I know with the BELS and like you said "Acts like a super" all the offspring will be either one gene or the other ( no normals ) is it like that with all the Allelic Combos?

      @@brewerboyzballpythons exactly right. Allelic combos are exactly like superforms except the two copies of the gene occupying the allele are different genes. So all the offspring will be one or the other. In the superform the two genes occupying the allele are just a double copy of the same gene, so all the offspring receive a copy of that gene. "Acts like a super" are in fact "allelic" by definition and all allelic combinations act like a super. The BEL complex is an allelic complex but you can get a BEL with the superform of each of the genes in the leucistic complex like lesser x lesser or a BEL with the allelic lesser x mojave.

    I breed vanilla pastel to firepin first time 3 eggs got a dragonfly vanilla male its amazing going to breed it to its mum vanilla pastel

      If I understand you correctly, you have produced a Fire/Pastel/Pinstripe/Vanilla?
      Fire and Vanilla are allelic so this 4 gene combo would be the Rodeo Scream, which is on WOBP and looks awesome!
      The pairing to the vanilla pastel should give you more Rodeos and some Super Vanilla combos. Can't go wrong with that pairing!

    What’s the Out-Come from Breeding Super Pastel Female with Pastel yellowbelly Fader Male

      I don't work with the fader gene, but the original came from NERD and there are now various lines of it. A co-dom (or incomplete dominant ) gene as far as I can tell and it does apparently have a superform. Some controversy over whether it is a gene or a trait and whether everything labelled as fader is actually fader. I don't think it's allelic with any of the other genes in your pairing but that may have changed based on more breeding information.
      Morphmarket genetic calculator has fader listed as a trait. World of Ball Pythons genetic wizard has it as a gene. So the listed outcomes are different on each site.
      So you have a super pastel female that guarantees all her offspring will be pastel and you will get no normals. From the male, you will get 50% probability of pastel, 50% probability of YB and if fader is indeed a gene, 50% probability of fader being passed on.
      There are 8 possible outcomes and all have a 12.5% probability or 1:8 chance of occurring. These are pastel, super pastel, pastel YB, super pastel YB, pastel fader, super pastel fader, pastel YB fader and super pastel YB fader.
      If fader is not a gene, there are only 4 possible outcomes with a 25% probability or 1:4 chance of occurring. These would be pastel, super pastel, pastel YB and super pastel YB and everything might have the fader trait in it or it might not.
      I'm not sure if that's what you are asking and if that helps?
