Hey Mike, working on a 757 with a host of issues. Anyway got everything working and noted the fan did not come on. I cleaned up that thermistor connection and the fan came to life. I still think the fan should come on sooner, but not in the mood to change the circuit as I already had the board out before replacing the T/R transistor. You helped! TNX....N1PS
Mike i have been following you for quite some time. And i must say you are by far about the best informative teaching tech's i have learned more from you keep up the good work youres truely Bruce Haney
Mike, I just picked up a used Yaesu FT757gx and I have a problem that I wonder if you could help me with. Radio works great except I can not do cw. I have a straight key, wired up correctly and when I plug it in, and change mode to cw-w and tap my key it isn't keying up the radio. Now with the key plugged in and in cw-w mode, I push the "MOX" button, I hear a tone and checking my tuner I am getting power out. But after releasing the MOX button and trying to use the key I get nothing. Any advise would be great. Thanks, Juddie WD8WV
I have one of these rigs but I have no receive I can transmit but nothing else. I have the whole kit, radio, power supply, and tuner. How do I go about getting ahold of you for repairs?
Mike - what's the source for your thermal adhesive? Thanks Mike for great troubleshooting tips...re: alignment for the sake of alignment --> if it ain't broke don't fix it!
I just bought one of these rig but I do not hear the fan running when i am only hearing not transmitting is this normal for this rig or i have a issue here. I bought it from Ebay and the merchant stated that the rig was running good.
757 doesnt do 6 meters. Beep staying on could be dirty sticky switches especially if he smokes. Clean all switches. AM no more than 25 watt dead key. ALC shouldnt move at all on AM . Turn up audio until ALC barely moves. Any swr will cause watts to back down. Check AM carrier setting on back of radio too.
