Global trade has existed for centuries, but hasn’t evolved with technology. Ryan Petersen, CEO and founder of Flexport, learned this the hard way as an entrepreneur managing the supply chain of his brother’s motorcycle sales business, and took it as an opportunity to update the industry. Petersen shares his insights on how entrepreneurs can solve some of the world’s biggest challenges and how the Internet can be a force for good.

@fatima Flexport is a freight forwarder.... while TradeLens is an industry tool.

Opening statement ?? Seaway release! Telex, electronic release. Crazy how such a influential guy talks without foundation. Generalizing that FFWD are not trustworthy.....SoftBank is trustworthy?

The big problem with global trade is simply emissions.
Shipping comapnies are introducting ocean ships driven by hydrogen, anmonia and other alternatives. I am not sure if those non-fossil means will prove gentle on the planet any more than I am if EV frenzy will in a decade or so. But emissions are being dealt with on risk-takers.
@@fumiosakuragi3078 That's a hopeful development, but it will likely take decades to replace and phase out the current ships. We don't have decades.
