Very late reply given this comment was made 3 years ago, but the "Incubus feel" was likely very much intended judging by them saying this was the "West Coast version"; Incubus is from Cali.

Its not in EADGAD its standard tuning. you can hear it when he plays the harmonic at the beginning.
