- Track 17 of 30 new songs for the soundtrack of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, a game for the Nintendo 3DS. This track plays during the battle with Cocoon Squadron.
Every time i fought Elite Squadrons, i went for the squadron and left the leader for last for a 1v1 duel. When I fought Cocoon, I couldn't help but laugh the entire fight. WAY too much fun, ducking and weaving among them

I always find myself singing to the lyrics to this song. I use the F-14D which is op with the right equipment and always make it out without a scratch. God Cocoon Squadron is such a fun battle.

Best game on the 3DS for me. After years of buying and trading in games, this is at the top of my list. No other 3DS game has an entire OST anywhere close to being this amazing.
It's only flaw is the lack of online play :/

Cocoon squadron's size depends on how many pilots you take down when you are destroying ships before Cocoon retreats. I used a SASM (it has a wide explosion radius) and hit Cocoon 1, reducing her to red and destroying the four surrounding her. Also, they are very persistent and know what to do. Whilst the other squadrons flail around like fish on land, who we can only assume to be Cocoon 2 takes over command and orders everyone back into formation. It's actually quite impressive since they are the last squadron where you can actually destroy the leader before the rest of the squadron. Unless you chose Operation Alphaville in which case you would fight the Beast Squadron again.

It's also nice considering that they're supposed to be one of the best, so having them go headless Chicken would really ruin the illusion
The original mission in AC2 had Fire Youngman, and absolute banger. It's great to hear the remake's equivalent also gave us another one.
Says a lot when I enjoyed the 3DS title more than the high budget title.
Incap well... legacy is handheld remake of 2 which was a great game, and regular AH was garbage
3ds has lots of great games! they are just a little less big... kinda like my balls
@@benracer imo, AH had potential to be good, but the cliche story and some clunk mechanic design made the game be hated by the community. I loved the fact that they tried to make the arial fightes more realistic by putting the dogfighting mode, and I wished they kept it in the others game that came after AH
@@jeffpage1000 I have returned after 7 years just to tell you that's the feature everyone hated. It's why it disappeared. There's nothing more inane and boring than 'on-rail' sections. It doesn't make it more realistic. The other games handled dogfighting just fine, without a 'Press X to Cool!' button.

I love that about this game, when you shoot down the lead first (for every squadron) you get a different reaction then if you destroy all the side planes first, fun stuff
Genuinely feel like this kind of weird combination of genres at this level of contrast is something that should be done again in other games. I would die if a boss in ac8 came in and had a theme like this
Quite the contrary, actually. True to the main character's callsign, Ace Combat has risen from the ashes like a phoenix. Ace Combat doesn't die; it simply flies under the radar to catch the competition by surprise. ;)

One of the best games on the 3DS, second one I got for mine too.
Every time I fought Cocoon (after the first few times) I went with an RCL barrage. For some reason it's really, really effective against them. ._. Poor guys.
AshsaberElda Well they do cluster together so a spread attack would defeat them all quickly I imagine even though I never tried it.

Underrated game, that did a retcon of the story behind the USEA Continental War. :) AC7 is out, and I still play this game. :D 400+ hours of flight time, and I don't see me stopping any time in the future. ;)
I agree they should've put this in the console version. But you know you can listen to this in te game In the music player if you beat the game.

The real name of the song is "Locked" by the way. it says so in the credits.
I fell in love with this song immediately after hearing it. The final battle against the cocoon squadron in that mission and I heard this and thought it was awesome, very different for a jet combat sim. It was hard to find it until now. Thank you for this upload. I wish I knew what this song is called and what its lyrics are.

I actually juked a fighter of cocoon squad that locked on me and he straight crashed in the ocean xDD how? I was flying down really close to ground then pull up very hard
They kill themselves because they have low hp it happens to me all the time but I mix my weapons with missiles and machine guns and it does way more damage than just firing two missiles after the Attack Maneuver cutscene, I use ODMM as well. It takes out the lead ace in two hits.

Cocoon squadron was my favourite Fight. Always left Out the Leader for a final 1v1. I wouldve Played the whole Game with the F14-D but sadly it cant keep Up with the Submarines missiles

Sorry, Cocoon aren't coming, I already destroyed them all with my modified version of the ADF-01 FALKEN. I call it the ADF-03 PHOENIX. It is a true firebird, it is armed with TLS, ODMM, modified RCL so it is lock-on, and finally armour that is made of hyperinvinciblium so it is totally invincible.
