This Setlist was mostly title tracks and I personally favour their b-sides so much more! But I’d have to say my favourite one of this bunch is ‘I Like You’. The title was only written in Korean here - 좋아합니다.

A very interesting detail about this group is the way the group was formed. Sungjin (oldest, leader and guitarist) was absolutely hopeless at dancing (at least this is what he said) but the company didn't want to give up on him, so they decided to make a band centred around him. There were multiple iterations of that project group until Day6 members were decided. One of them had Jihyo (Twice), Young K, and another male trainee, the story is shared by Young K in an interview with Eric Nam. Most of them needed to learn to play the instruments for this band (except Dowoon who was recruited because they needed a drummer), and on top of this they also needed to learn to write their songs. Their only condition to debut was to know how to produce their songs. Of course, the whole concept was a roller-coaster of learning for both them and the company that didn't know anything about how to manage a band, they were their first band. But it gave us this beautiful group. Also, they were meant to be able to sing live for festivals, they also had busking stages (lots of JYP groups seem to have had that phase with busking stages, SKZ and Twice also had them).
Also, my favourite part of those promotions is how much they are orientated into having them singing karaoke or impromptu style. On Dingo they also have an episode from a few weeks ago where they're in a local and use beer cans and forks as microphones, they went on Halmyungsoo (ep 147) where they had karaoke, Hup also karaoke, went on Lee Hyori show, 1theK Behind the Studio to sing Welcome to the show in the middle of nowhere, sang in 3 languages on Hello82 and so many more. I just love it

All of them are main vocals but then again, they are a band so they don't have positions such main vocal lead vocal or rapper, their positions are based on the instruments they play

The first time I hear them I felt in love with Sungjin's voice, but short after I realized all of them had their own charm. Their vocals are so impressive... Tho nowadays Wonpil's voice (since his 1st album "Pilmography") brings me so so so much comfort and warms me inside... thank you so much for reacting and for encourage people to go and watch them! They deserve so much love! 🥺
Ughh Wonpil’s voice is just so warm and lovely. I remember listening to pilmography and just thought it was such a work of art. I missed listening to his voice when he went to the military. I listened to someday spring will come A LOT meanwhile but now I’m so glad I get to hear his voice again, the voice that brought me so much comfort.

i love how they played some of my ultimate faves of their discography, but i wasnt familiar with the korean titles, so i was surprised each time another one of my faves were played lol
I love Sungjin’s vocals, there’s a certain raspiness that hits hard. Not going to lie though, I do miss Jae’s vocals - I wish him and Day6 well.

Usually, k-pop groups/bands divide parts according to what a particular vocalist can do but as far as Day6 is concerned, they can all take up anything and you know it'll sound good because all of them are UP there in terms of range and tonal quality!

These three vocalist have different speciality.. I especially love Sungjin graspy rock voice, but i also can't get enough of YoungK vocal range & Woonpil expressive soft voice..
With DAY6's vocals, you really have to pause every second.

For me personally I LOVE Young K's voice , or his tone. I have no idea about technicalities going into vocals on any front but his voice just hits different. Sungjin is just on another level , i usually don't like vocal fry type thingy that people try to do but he does it beautifully, wonpil absolutely has a pretty voice, like it's clean and pretty. And Dowoon ufff the bass in his voice, guy needs to sing more , I hope he does
Their bassist - Young K is the heart of the group, cos he wrote almost all their songs. He also a solo artist and radio DJ. A lot of popular K-pop Idols/artists are Young K fans! I`d advise you to check his cover-project - "YOUNG ONE", there`s a lot of English songs (btw he is fluent in it). My fav: "Love Me Less" (Max, Quinn Xcii cover), "What Am I" (Why Don't We cover), "Last Call" (Hudson Thames cover), "Like A Star" (Corinne Bailey Rae cover), "What A Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong cover)
Also his 'Fly me to the moon' cover !!! Such a masterpeace

You mentioned how most groups sing the newest song last, Day6 arranged this how they would arrange a concert , so the order is based on that. Welcome to the show is a natural to be a show starter. They started there career doing more busking and small clubs. They never really promoted the way dancing idol groups would. So they are very used to live performances and excel at them obviously! All three are main vocalists. My favorite member/vocalist is Wonpil. He’s got such a lovely and unique tone.

With the noah 놓아 the voice sound fits with the meaning "let go" so its really nice

one of my most favorite things about day6’s songs is their utilization of vocal harmonies!!! this isn’t showcased as much in this video but if you listen to their songs there’s soooo many moments where it’s acapella with these beautiful harmonies that are vocalized in the background. as a music nerd, i love it sm but they know their music theory shit!! here are a few songs:
- letting go (rebooted version) this song literally makes me ascend
- better better
- i like you
- headache
and you NEEEED to check out “how to love” im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to vocal techniques but something about their vocals in this song scratches my brain just right

Jae will always be a member in my heart. They performed together and made almost all of day6's discography together. Independently of their current contract.

I love the way you commented on Sungjin's vocal textures in the song Letting Go, that song was released in 2016 but is still one of my fav❤️ I really love the way Sungjin's voice touches people's hearts naturally and strongly!

the pianist is a big fan of Taka of one ok rock his name is wonpil and he is also the role model of seungmin of skz
I *love* that you mentioned the guitarist, Sungjin's, vocal texture and how you could tell it was natural/he wasn't straining!!!!! He's always had that texture, but he gave himself more of a raspy singing voice once he was in the band, and as time went on, you could tell he forcing the grit more and more. It was what made him stand out, but was not the healthiest for his voice. After he came back from his hiatus, he started taking vocal lessons again and I can *hear* the improvement bc he went back to his basics, which always had the unique rasp.
keys - wonpil: theatrical, emotional, beautiful floaty vocals. he is a Disney prince basically it's worth looking into his music with the lyrics on :D
guitar - sungjin: warm, gritty, dependable, belting king. he is the bedrock of their sound
bass - young K: versatile!! absolute vocal chameleon >< listen to his solo albums &
my favourites: above the clouds, better better, I'll try, blood, like a flowing wind, somehow
I love all their songs, but 'you were beautiful ' has a special place in my heart❤️

You should react to xdinary heroes, they're a band under JYP and work closely with Day6. I would recomend their live versions of Tomboy, Hellevator, Pirates, Drown and welcome to the parade. They've also done a great cover of Day6's Zombie. Their own songs are also very good. Good enough, Strawberry cake and Hair cut are my favourites

the first ever video i watched from day6 was their congratulations x you were beautiful performance at their gravity world tour, and the voice that got me hooked was sungjin's (the guitarist with the vocal growl). ive been wondering for so long why i loved his vocal texture so much and i think you hit it right at the spot! he does it soo naturally that the texture appears to be part of his voice. before their hiatus, he used to sing with much heavier texture but recently he's been talking about receiving lessons to further control the texture to take care of his voice moving forward.
also the drummer also sings! haha he has a solo release titled out of the blue (duet with song heejin) and he gets some lower lines in some of their songs. personally i love it when they utilize his voice bcos it complements well with the other singers' typically high registers.

I'm so happy you saw them! DAY6 are AMAZING! incredible singers and performers. Their whole discography is perfect. Young K (bassist) is to me the best singer in the kpop industry period. Sungjin (guitarist) voice makes me so emotional every time I listen to him. Wonpil (piano) is so sweet and sings so well, and Dowoon (baterist) is the best (and the maknae). DAY6 are the idols of idols. You will find them in all the playlist of popular idols, everyone loves them. I wish they were more popular.

Hi, MCR fan as well here!!! Before I got into kpop, i am so into mcr. And i am sucker for day6 songs that reminds me a little bit of mcr songs, like you can here i dont love in letting go, and the beat of sweet chaos is reminding me of either dead or house of wolves

Day6 are also self-produced, especially YoungK is involved in most of their music compositions. Sungjin and Wonpil too.
I personally have been following them for a long time and love them deeply, especially YoungK along with his solo career, which I think you might love.
I would love it if you could also explore these facets of the members, since they also have their solos and collaborations.
Day6 is a wonderful band that has overcome various circumstances and has a unique and special color.
