We need to move on and build a stadium for the next 100 years - and I’m saying this as a 62 year old fan who went to my first game in 1972. We need to stop living in the past, it’s something that is holding our club back. You remember the past, you pay respect to the past, but we need to stop clinging onto the past……what we should be doing is creating new future great memories. I’m telling you in my 62 years on the planet one of the things I’ve seen time and time again is that sentimentality kills progress. People, teams, organisations that are great, do it by constantly looking forward and not looking back. If you’re stubborn and refuse to change you simply get left behind.
Agreed. I’m originally from Stretford and am in my 50s this year. The area around the stadium is not suitable for a 21st Century leading sports team (although that’s another debate 😂). Need a new stadium and a new area around the stadium. A chance for massive redevelopment will create jobs, growth and wealth in the area.
@MH-vp7lfYou can thank Martin Edwards for floating your football club on the LSE. It's stopped being a football club and called a football club ever since. No floating on the LSE, no Glazers.
Improved public transport links would be a boon for me. It's 2hrs by car or train for me but getting to the train is a nightmare. It'd be nice to be able to have a few beers without staying the night. I'll be wounded if OT is ripped down, but at the same time, if it's a marked improvement, I'll be happy.
Our ticket prices have only increased by about 10% over the last 13 years. They're way cheaper in real terms now than they were 13 years ago. Though you could argue less value for money with the state of the football we're watching Yeah, I reckon some seats will be £100+ in 10 years time. Inflation is a bitch.
For those fans that don't know UK business law, when United build a new stadium, it does not go into the debt figures as its an asset, so it won't go in the loss column. Also as it would be a new and greener stadium it's running costs should be a lot less, running costs are in the loss column so they do count and reducing those will help us buy players.
A new stadium build will not affect the transfer budget. It'll be financed differently, infact once completed, it will increase match day revenues and increase our spending power in the transfer market.
Think about it sensibly and logistically, how would OT be regenerated? Where would we play for 2 years? We can’t expand the capacity due to the rail track and it would probably need a complete rebuild anyway due to the dilapidation. History is in the PAST and we need to look FORWARD. We’ve been living in the past for too long and that’s probably part of the reason why we’re in the mess we’re in.
@stretfordender11 stadium build doesn't count in psr. In theory, you could agree on a naming rights deal for 20 years with a company. That money covers the build of the stadium 🏟 and the new stadium is called (company name) old Trafford. Us fans still call it old trafford, the broadcasters have to state the company's name everytime they are referring to the stadium.
@@Erictheking66 Spot on, a new larger stadium will increase our revenues and increase our spending power in the transfer market. It's not rocket science.
This is totally different to any thing to do with the transfers kitty. Bring on the new one and I’m well into my 50’s, so I have memories at OT. ✌🏼❤️🙂&✊🏼
Let’s be honest here 18:02 our strikers are not strikers, maybe at a push Hojlund could be considered a striker, but Zirkzee is not a striker no way Jose
Keeping and downscaling the current Old Trafford to 40,000 for non first team games ? And also as a kind of museum / blast from the past? The problem is that United are probably going to have to build a brand new state of the art stadium eventually that rivals Barcelona / Real / Bayern / Spurs. You only have to look at what Real are doing to see the difference. They have a grass pitch that can be hydraulically stacked and taken underground and fed and given light to turn the stadium into a proper indoor arena for tennis or concerts. Extra revenue. Compared to OT it’s like something from Star Trek. We can either do it soon , or do it in 30 years time , but once we realise that it’s inevitable ? At some point it will HAVE to happen or United will become a quaint dinosaur left behind by others.
We need a whole new stadium and a regenerates Trafford area. I generally walk in from far out, and it needs a lot of work and there is space for it. I haven’t been due to health issues exacerbated by the small seating spacing. I’ll go to OT to say goodbye for sure.
I think subtracting players in this window without any additions is going to put the manager in a bad spot. He needed minutes from Antony recently, has needed a good number of minutes from Garnacho recently so if they let them both go they need something in or the stress on other players is going to be an issue.
Ineos won't close parts of OT while they renovate them because it means losing the tickets sales after they've just put the ticket prices up. This isn't about making fan experience better it's about milking the club for as much money as possible, when they build a new stadium they'll use that as an excuse to put the tickets above £100.....I've got as much faith in Jim making United world beaters again as much as I do Kier Starmer making Britain safe.
We will need a new stadium eventually either way. As much as I will miss Old Trafford this has to be the best time to do it. Otherwise when would we get one? Uniteds future is not secure. No guarantee of money. If they wait, who knows where Man utd would be at that point.
Can we just stop with this notion that the government will help pay for a new stadium; that’s obviously not going to happen. Any government investment will be for infrastructure and development of the area around a refurbished, rebuilt or new stadium.
I've been a United fan since that Giggsy FA goal. I was 9 years old, and it breaks my hart that (if WE get new stadium) I will never witness my team play at Old Trafford.
What’s needed = Trafford 80k, Old Trafford 20k & La Mancsia for the youth players. Not a bells & whistles 90k soulless Glazer bowl & shite on the pitch. Tottenham mark2

Then in the Summer instead of a war chest for Amorim it's a wrecking ball poised to smash the iconic stadium to rubble, providing simultaneously another excuse not to rebuild the team (because there's literally no money) and crucially the expansion of revenues and increasing share price towards that Glazers dream of 7 billion dollar valuation. It's a crying shame really. Failing business model saved by new investor partnership who've lobbied the government to help increase revenues from fans going to games and tightening belts and cutting costs to please debtors and minority share holders. They want the wealthy tourist buck, this isn't about the working class routes and a connection with the local communities. If he plays well in Spain it'll hopefully raise his value a little and put him in the shop window for a permanent transfer away in the summer. Getting 10 minutes now and again and missing open goals is only decreasing his value 😂
@genghiskhanjunior9581 you're not wrong, his recent cameos have just been to prove fitness for the loan. It's a shame it didn't work out. He's been a different player since the spinning memes and then the rape allegations. Let's hope he can get back to his best with a change of scenery.

Barcelona knocked down their stadium and built a new one on the same site. What you talking about?
@vijaydcosta oh its called a renovation of the existing stadium not a new stadium in a different location !!!!
Have you lost it
When was the last time you went to old Trafford mate?
We don’t deserve a new stadium
Lose the hair shirt
You guys don’t stop with the INEOS PR do ya how much r they paying yous 😂😂😂
blame the glazers, they’re the ones who allowed the stadium to get to a point of disrepair
They've had so many videos slagging off INEOS, tf are you on about
Why comment something that is gonna make you look stupid? Going off your name you're another one of these supporters that gets behind one player but talks shit about the club... Idiot's.
Dude I've seen your comments many times on this channel, that makes me think you watch many videos here, which in turn makes me wonder what you're on about, in fairness they have released many videos critical of Ineos. You're not a fool are ya ? Do you just see and hear what you want ? That's delusional, are you delusional ?
@@celtic69Very true comrade but Ineos ain't filling me with much confidence tbh, however it's a mess and I'm assuming they do have a plan and I do recognise there's no magic wands either.
What about we as fans all get behind a buy a brick scheme so we can make money as a a club by auctioning off old ot bricks id literally pay hundred
