Why my gauge keep reading even not touch the steel yet? Whats the problem n how to fix it?

After 5 measures in memory mode 6000 shows twice lower thickness. Is this ok? 10 different points it is not reasonable to make

so this won't also include the thickness of the metal that the coating is on as well right?

PosiTector 6000 coating thickness gages are designed to accurately measure the thickness of the coating applied to a metal substrate; it is not suited to measure the thickness of the metal substrate. Why thickness are measure in even number only in gauge ?

Hi Maulik, Thank you for commenting. We have a wide range of interchangeable probes for measuring the thickness of a variety of coatings (thin to thick). Depending on the resolution of the connected probe and the thickness of the coating, our PosiTector 6000 will display odd number measurements.
