Check to see if your formula is referencing the column by name, or by cell range. If your data isn't formatted as a table, it may be looking for a range instead. So, for example, try your formula as =COUNTA(UNIQUE(E3:E25)) or =COUNTA(UNIQUE([Project]))

why is unique function not displaying in my excel?
Sorry! not happening for me. It always gives the count of 1 (one) whatever I do.

Now, if that only worked with filtered data. But no, always returns unique for entire dataset
