Ngl the fact that you can potentially harm the cat could be a very unique morality test, I think if you keep that in the official release it should have major consequences on the players sanity, like for example: hearing phantom meowing from outside the house at night or hearing cat scratches on the floor boards, maybe even hissing randomly in the left or right ear to show the cat disliked that the player harmed it! You could even add an Easter egg into the game where you see a kitten in the painting for a whole day cycle to signify the players guilt they feel for harming it. Really drive it home and play into the psychological horror aspect of it.

Although I'm pretty sure that was a bug and not intentionally done especially since it's a demo, since he was holding the ax and pressed the pet option the game bugged out and triggered the action for what was in his hand. although it could be used to teach the player to be aware of what they're doing and how it affects that cat. And I pretty much foster the stray cat in my neighborhood and he gets jumpy around sudden movements and such so it would be pretty cool if there was a trust building process for the cat to allow you to pet it, like leaving food out for it multiple days in a row and then as a reward it allows you to pet it then as a show of trust! Another cool thing would be multiple different cat skins that could spawn in, like a Siamese, Bombay, Tabby, Calico ect ect. (I'm sorry about yapping if you read all of that, I really like cats and horror games)

I like how Ryan hit the cat accidentally, then without even thinking immediately reset the day so it didn't happen. That's genuinely something I would do. And have done in Baldur's Gate 3. Accidentally killing that cat still haunts me.
but that'll probably ruin the horror value of the game, best to have a seperate gamemode where you're trying to survive by escaping or preventing hauntings from coming down and bite you in the nings

Yeah he missed a jump scare when he went outside that first time he woke up and went to the fence with the bird. I just wish he would have waited if he wasn't feeling well cause he sorta rushed the game in my opinion

This is a beautiful horror game that gives the viewer of how it feels and see to be in the eyes of a person who suffers agoraphobia. Preferring to be alone and away from people hence he only allows one person to check up on him for survival reasons. Anyways amazing video Ryan. Take care
As a game developer i just appreciate the amazing graphics that have been created. Indie games always had me in shock because of how good they can be, or how good can they look. As weird as it sounds, I think this game looks better than any AAA game that have been released as of recently. The environment is so absolutely beautiful that I sometimes forget this is a game that is made by (mostly) one person.

I've watched several people play this, but I've never seen the bodies floating above the house. Not sure if anyone mentioned, but there is a fence specifically for the chickens. There's also some zinc in the barn that sells for $30 each.

5:22 it may of held a small family, the sticks could be from pets or kids, and the leaves could be from the outside, but due to stepping on the leaves, it stays on the shoes a little bit longer. so it could be why leaves are inisde. either that or it used to be a plant and whoever owned the house before, took the pot holding the plant for some reason.
