Yep; It's a lot different from when my dad sent me to the corner bar to pickup a 6-pack for him. Of course the staff AND the patrons knew my dad and me by name..... AND they iknew it was for him, not me.
@@randysmith9715 my parents had a grocery store that sold cigarettes. I could sell them as a teen (register), but wouldn't have been able to purchase them in the early 80s when the law tightened up. I got angry parents who were confused that I, a child, could sell the cigarettes, but their 6 year old child couldn't be sent to the store with a dollar to buy the 97¢ pack of Kool Light 100s for them.
My sister had a young boy try to get alcohol but was definitely under age (uk). Then his parents came in to get the alcohol 10-15 minutes later. They were so angry but my sister held her ground and didn’t let them get the alcohol. My (ex) daughter in law was helping my husband to put his groceries on the belt and the cashier asked for id. She said it’s not mine I’m just helping my Father in law. But I’m married and have 3-4 children (not sure how many at that time). 😅 Another lady wanted me to sell her alcohol at midnight in Asda(uk supermarket), we had some back and forth and then she admitted she knew it was 10am-10pm for alcohol sales. She actually worked in a smaller store.
Same in. Virginia. I refused a sale to a group of kids, only one was 21. But I saw all of them picking it out. Even the manger wanted me to sell to them. I stood firm. Kids left went to another store, this time only the 21 yd old went in. Later the kids were busted for underage drinking and driving, one girl that was with them was raped at the party. Cops came to our store trying to say we sold them the liquor. Pulled the tapes of me refusing. Manager sweated bullets until he realized I saved their asses. Never questioned me again on alcohol sales.
The laws of sale of alcohol or tobacco products to minors, or adults buying the same for minors even in my country Scotland heavy with fixed minimum penalty fines. Any adult buying alcohol for a minor I think the fines can be at least 5000, the fine for a retailer selling alcohol or tobacco can be more as much as 15000 and the loss of a licence to sell alcohol or tobacco, so loss of income.that was the fines several years ago. Could be more now.
Story 4 justifies why I hate it when someone yells "First" like they have dibs when in reality they don't. You win nothing with an attitude like that

I was a college mascot. That can be dangerous as your visibility is limited and your head is heavy. I was pulled off bleachers once by my tail.
I was a store mascot for an indoor playground. My costume was basically a round shell and kids kept pounding and shoving it.
