All of the 8 robot masters as well as the first two forms of Wily have a glitch that allows the invincibility frames to by bypassed. Most of it involves using the Triple Blade in between weakness weapon hits. I explain it in detail in my TAS with Mega Man. I'd love to see a game about Zero's awakening. It'd be sweet to see Bass and Zero duke it out to see who Wily's ultimate creation is. Or having Bass and Megaman team up to fight against Zero (only to lose in the end.)

The boss battle theme kind of sounds like something you'd hear at a jazz concert. Not that that's a bad thing. I'm just saying it sounds kind of relaxing.
He took a damage boost just to dash on spikes meaning if bass’s sprite is blinking he is invincible meaning the spikes does not kill him and if his sprite stops blinking he is not invincible meaning he’ll have to damage boost again and it saves time over going through the platform. This TAS manipulated the enemy in a good spot to be able to do it.
Nah, things like the slide or other means of positive acceleration are the enemy of speedrunners. If you can go faster, the speed runner is obliged to, and just has yet another thing to focus on.
If only there were other console speedruns besides the Wii. The top ten in PS3's leaderboards for the All Clear/Time Attack stages show them play like they have turbo controllers or something.
to my memory (of an effing long time ago) the original megaman nes games did not have invinc frames, so u could hit them consecutively. im not sure which game they added those in, since i only played megaman 2,3, and X1-6.

To answer your question 9 years later, they were always there (but very short) but they could be easily bypassed by quick man’s weapon from mm2

It's not a hack, Bass really fires that fast in the game. With Bass, this game is easy mode extreme, not even comparable to Zero with his Hyper Slash.
