Interesting! I'm glad to see that Webley and scott are getting some UA-cam air time there seems to be a distinct lack of exposure online to the point that I thought there was an anti Webley thing going on!!.
I'm not sure about that scroll work but like the forend style,I love the look of the 912xs and prefer it's cleaner action, I would like Matt barrel's also but I'll have to wait to try them,if I can find anywhere that stocks them of course!!.
    Keep up the good work.

You lucky bugger, pre production anything is an absolute privilege. Priceless mucker, well done.

I feel like this is a stupid question but why don't more budget guns have a black action on it instead of going for a so-so engraving Patten ?

Perfectly valid question, and I have no idea.

For whatever reason, you always get really nice quality wood on a Webley & Scott. Way more than you would expect for the price.

Had a good look at one this weekend, nicely finished however was long in the stock, 15” LOP made it just bit long for me

Are they planning a 20 bore?

Perhaps it's more of the placement of the engraving that didn't suit me me when I commented on Instagram. Maybe something similar but a bit more centered on the canvas. Or using the same amount of laser time doing work around the border. Was the receiver aluminium?

I agree, Lloyd, the engraving certainly could be worse but I kinda like the under- embellished scrollwork…if you’re trying to produce a more affordable gun, you cut unnecessary & expensive costs that will allow other areas of the product to be competitive, innovative or attractive. As you said, a pre-production game gun with a proposed price under 1K pounds is very reasonable.
I think the hard heel on the recoil pad may just be something that the manufacturer was toying with as a hybrid pad since game guns often have hard butt plates. I like a schnabel forend on a sporting model but I don’t prefer the ‘chubby’ schnabel forends with the ‘beak’ as you put it like those offered on the Yildiz models…I think they look much nicer with the field style forend.
In the example you have there I especially like the interesting forend contours, flutes, checkering and the overall unique appearance of this shotgun.

A little tough for it to follow the "museum quality" K80 video but it's not a boat oar either for under 1k. Thanks for the video.

Had a Webley and Scott 951 Sporter 12g for a while now , once I got used to it it smokes clays and I now shoot with 3/4 and full choke . I like the look of the new Vantage and price is good . I’ve had to replace the firing pins and springs and I slicked up the action .

Why no barrel selector on a double barrel gun, might as well have an auto or a pump gun?

I’d like to handle one in tha 410 bore. Interesting gun for the money. The steel receiver is a plus in my way of thinking.

I know it's a pre-prod but in it's present condition it looks like a Baikal to me with the woodwork as it is... I think the production gun will need a good re-work on the furniture. If it does the job, it does the job.

What's with all the hating on Schnable forends ? They look much more elegant than a Beavertail, which I generally find too chunky in the hand. That's a 'no' on the action from me; either full engraving or clean.

    • @BeatRock253
      @BeatRock253 2 роки тому

With my grip I normally reach out towards the end of the forend. A Schanbel forend forces my finger tip into a certain position which I dislike because I point my pointer finger out straight. I want to put my finger wherever I want. Not where the Schnabel decides to end.

What do you mean... "we are all allowed to like diffent things" in this world..... No your not! You've got to like what some one else likes, your not allowed an opinion. 😂😂
. I think it looks OK for a budget gun.. For a Turkish made gun, would I spend my small amount of cash on that as opposed to any of the other big Turkish brands I'm not sure

game gun...lol, who is gonna turn up on a shoot with one of these, they'd spend more on shells than the gun itself, let alone the price of the shoot...
