Don't normally like country music but song is excellent and transcends that Mason-Dixon music line. The lyrics are exceptional, and Rogers does a superior job with them. Except for slipping into the southern vernacular when singing 'want' with an 'o' he is perfect. This song deserved any accolades it received back when it came out. This is the best, IMO, version of the song. I'd rate it a real classic that should be rated up near the top. Its message is clear and to the point. Any guy could send this to his gal and score many points. I've heard it at several weddings as well. Congrats to Kenny.
