Love how Jmook respects Amsa's space, it's very similar to the Fox/Falco Sheik matchup, where Yoshi so just trying to get in and do his thing, and amsa pushes those punishes to the next level, great set all around
It seems like they keep going back and forth in who’s better at the matchup (yeah aMSa is heavily favored overall in the H2H but when Jmook has won it was very convincing)
aMSa was “woken up” vs Sheik after losing a set to Jflex at Nightclub. Then he got a lil lucky: DrLobster losing to JoJo Polish oversleeping for another tourney and getting DQ'd (aMSa probably had 0 Peach practice in) Now being ready for Jmook because of all that Sheik practice
Zelda is garbage and the down b takes like 2 whole seconds. Zelda is kinda like a worse version of peach. Her areals are insanely powerful but peach’s areals are way easier to hit and not only that you can actually combo them into other moves.
Zelda is at least even vs Ice Climbers, like actual 50-50 matchup while Sheik hard loses it. I thought Jmook plays Zelda sometimes in his own time so I was a little surprised he didn't use her vs some of his Icies matchups like LSI. But there's a tradeoff, even if your character matchup is good or even, playing a character with generally massive downsides like Zelda vs the best players is just too risky probably. I'd do it on slippi or locals but don't think I'd risk running Zelda vs Slug for example lmao
@@LiveTwinReaction yeah, drephen likes Zelda vs ICs i think. I think Zelda is also playable vs Peach and Samus, but Shiek is prob better. I like her against falcons when im trolling
I think Jmook needs to play a slower, pokier game against floaties like Yoshi. He was trading often which tends to favor the tankier characters. I also think he complicated things at the ledge, resetting Amsa with a jab/tilt when pivot ledgehog would’ve sealed the deal, or provided more advantage. As hard as it is with a character like shiek, he should also look for more mixups in approaching and recovery - despite Amsa defending ledge the same way several times, Jmook never changed his recovery. I think if Jmook makes these changes he’s got Amsa’s number.

He's doing what people are accusing Hbox of: Shifting the meta towards a boring, methodical playstyle. I'm glad to see people figure out how to counteract this playstyle as it's incredibly unhealthy for the meta imo. I don't dislike Jmook as a person, I dislike what he brings to the table.
It's a good way to force the opponent away from the ledge so you can get back on stage. aMSa rarely does it more than a few times before coming back on stage so I don't see any issue with it
@@magictrader999 except its not completely invincible; there's always at least one frame of vulnerability even when done perfectly, so it's possible to intercept (and if the move sends him far enough away from ledge, he loses his stock then and there).

You wouldn't want to switch mid game id that was the case though. It'd be just as much effort to learn a better secondary, for a much better reward.
