How funny I have just sat down after fixing heavy duty 3" casters under my table saw, and turned on my laptop and saw you doing the same, good job Badger.
Great video Matt. One thing I’ve learnt (me struggling a bit on the mobility side) is I’ve put everything in my workshop / garage on wheels. The 3 workbenches I’ve made are on castors which means I can easily move them around without calling upon assistance. Love the way you finished them off with the black too😀
Nice base. It's great that you now have a rolling table saw, however, does the saw stay planted when you're pushing a piece of plywood through? I can see that you can lock the casters from rolling, but what about the spinning? I see some bases that allow you to lift the casters on a lever so you can have a solid foot on the ground.
It looks like the base is from metal now that you paint it . Looks very nice !!!!! When you make a base you only need 2 casters to lock ? and must be front or back or it doesnt matter ?
Enjoyed the saw videos, great work 👍🏻 off topic question but how deep is the workbench? The MFT style one with holes. About to build one and not sure how deep to make it.
Hey dude good video, and i'm needing castors for my workbench but need a pack of 6. Looking at buying a pocket hole jig, but would like one in cm. The kreg only seems to come in inches, and thoughts of one.
I would change the No 8 screws fixing the castors for 8mm nuts and bolts I made the same sort of thing for my table saw but I used dexion it works fine
The casters I used

Thank you. Wheels do make life easier, also means you can clean behind things

Coming along nicely! 😃👍🏻👊🏻

I think you're right to add tur ebony ink, it ties everything together nicely.
Thank you. I am pleased I added it

That would also work
Nice job Matt. Did you use those casters for your planer, thicknesses stand?
No but I wish I had, I used them on the moving dolly I made
the saw goes from strength to strength
Thank you
What is the ebony ink? I have a project I want to stain a solid black coming up and that looks ideal.

Badger Workshop thank you, I’m guessing it’s just the Indian ink. Does it soak in and leave a grain pattern where the wood has differing absorbency?
It leaves a very even colour. Always best to try it on a sample first
Looking good you really must try Osmo finishes they come in all sorts of colours
Thanks Ray
Great video Matt 😁 Random question: do you have a brother who is one of the presenters on the GCN UA-cam channel?
Not that I know of. I shall ask my mother
