I remember back in Cata where you could briefly mount Worgens, it was obviously not intended as you just stood on them, but Running Wild does need some updates to bring it in line with ground travel form at least.
i ready when cata came out. i switched my gnome mage to a worgen cause i thought they were really cool. i then discovered that for a time, darkflight stacked with the speed buff you could get from blink. allowing me to run faster than a mounted player for a very short time. it was hella fun in battlegrounds. Then one day it no longer stacked with blink anymore.
Running Wild IS affected by mount equipment. It also has the benefit of being unaffected by zone-specific restrictions (it was useable in the Maw when all others mounts weren't).
Worgen death knight main, I can just run on water. I do theme my mounts per race/class and for my ground mount I use running wild just cause it looks cool
My favorite use of Spatial Rift, was in PvP as an Arcane Mage. Step 1. Throw Spatial Rift after being charged; blink away from it, attack, get leaped at, teleport to Spatial Rift, attack, having baited both warrior movement abilities, while still having 1 Blink. (Or no blinks, since clever Spatial Rift uses could replace the need for Shimmer but... Shimmer is REALLY good)
I love my ass rockets on my Surv Hunter. The raw mobility potential in Rocket Jump is great, IMO, because otherwise I have to manipulate my character to "aim" Disengage or target an enemy to Harpoon away. It's also gotten me out of (and into) plenty of situations while casually playing, especially back on the Timeless Isle in MoP.
At one time the distinct bonus for the Wisp ability was during early WoW when world pvp was much more prevelant. Being about to get back to the fight faster than your opponents, was definitely a plus and came in handy when hot spots like X-Roads and Ashenvale where there was a lot of world pvp occuring. Speaking from experience as a NE player who played during this era. Being able to get back to the body faster than your opponents, and then pop that Shadowmeld while eating/drinking to heal back up was a godsend.
I think you're underrating spatial rift a bit. It should be ranked similarly to rocket jump for its similar ability to bypass mechanics. It can be used to skip rings against Xy'mox and Dausenge or Painsmith balls just for a couple examples. If alliance was meta for the last few WF races and we didn't have access to Door of Shaodws/Shapeshift there probably would have been a decent amount of void elf abuse for a few of these mechanics.
I have been mythic raiding as VE for as long as they existed and the rift saved me countless times. On the jailer alone it can be used several times to save dps and help with mechanics like charging azeroth after jumping into the pit or getting hit by a decimator (well, the last one doesn't have knockback anymore, lmao)
I main a void elf, and casting Spacial Rift before having to spread on mechanics is really nice. Can keep casting until the last possible second, and still be safe. Hit that spell just before a mechanic hits, when it happens, teleport out immediately. It's Niche, but still really nice.
I run a Highmountain Tauren as a Deathknight explicitly because of that Bullrush. Its a life saver when you've got the walking cadence of Darth Vader wearing cement shoes.
Before the addition of crossfaction play, literally every MDI run was done Alliance side because their racials are better, in particular Dwarf for tank, Dwarf or fringe cases like Void Elf for dps, and Dwarf or Pandaren for heals. Outside of the pro scene, Kul Tirans are also the leading race for nearly all content for all 4 tank specs they can play. Dark Iron Dwarf is always one of the best races for solo content and group content. Mechagnome has also been picking up steam. And since you're in particular talking about allied races, Mag'har Orcs are one of the worst, if not the worst, races in the game, with most specs seeing a 0.00% increase from being one, Vulpera is also conditional, and Nightborne (both active and passive) are extremely spec specific for usefulness.
Also, just a heads up, no spec in the game takes Embrace of Gonk. They're worse in every way. And the Dark Iron one is a passive, and they also get an active... Zandalari don't. This is in place of them having an active.
This one is missing. Dark Iron Dwarves have one of the best racials. They don't need to choose between speed boost and effectiveness, they just have both. They got one of the best defensive abilities - removal of all poison, disease, curse, magic, and even bleeding effects. But it is noth only safeness but also offensive cooldown - it buffs with basic amount primary stat and also additional amount for each removed defuff. This is one of the best racial DPS bonus among all others. You could think that this is enough for them, but no, they also have reduced phys damage (1%) and freaking mole machine, which teleports them through time and damn space. So this comment is REALLY missing
One of my favorite things to do on my Worgen is go Running Wild with my inflatable mount shoes! I'm not sure about the other mount equipment but so long as my Worgen's on all fours he can walk on water. 😆
Dunno if it was mentioned already but Bull rush had one more downside, imho at least. Its the fact you have to be grounded to cast it, meaning you can’t jump and cast it which combined with latency caused delay between landing and being able to cast bull rush (since game could take like an extra second to register you being on the ground or smt). Hope its understandable lol
Mounts increase movement speed by x% so when using a 100% mount, you are actually moving at 200% and when using a 310% flying mount you move at 410% so a flying mount is only slightly more then 2 times faster then a ground mount.
Did they change dark flight? It used to increase your current movement by 40%, not stacking with sprint and the likes, but would work with passive speed boosts to give high movement
I have never used void elf's spatial rift until this tier, its a godsend when working on mythic Dasausage, any chance to avoid an arc is MASSIVE... but I doubt I'll ever use it again after this
3:17 I still think that Elune was in on the Jailer's plan and was helping him. She KNEW about the drought which means she would've known that souls were being sent to the Maw. I mean fuck it started two expansions ago with Argus dying. She knew about the whole thing and was in on it and that's why she didn't intervene. Not letting Tyrande finish off Sylvannas multiple times cements that fact, she didn't "not want Tyrande to die" she just didn't want Zovaal to lose his chess piece. If I were a Night Elf i'd find a new god.
No she didn't know the souls go to the Maw, but she knew about the drought. Because she has a connection to Arden Weald specifically not Oribos or SL as a whole. But she is still mentallly deficient for not knowing about the souls when she was clearly shown that through Tyrande's eyes. But dont expect good writing from modern wow of all things, lmao
So the Zandalari racial is just a flat-out better version of the Dark Iron racial? It works everywhere, is more potent, and can be changed to another one. Genius design by blizzard.
I think even ignoring my bias towards Worgen I think they have some of the best flavour in their racials So I decided to go over the flavour of them all because the good boys and girls of the Alliance deserve appreciation Aberration: Reduces Shadow and Nature damage taken - In wow aberrations are generally chimeric creatures or otherwise don’t fit into a single other category in the Worgens case this fits a few different ways. Human/Animal, Human/Night Elf both of which I think lead flavourfully to a mix of resistance to nature and shadow since nature is both something animals and NE are good at surviving and curses are generally associated with shadow magic Two forms/Altered form: Change between human and Worgen for outside combat - Simple answer Werewolves, complex answer demonstrates that Worgen are in control of their curse post the quest Neither Human Nor Beast Flayer: Claws are good for cutting and if animals are good at anything it’s cutting things fast so it makes sense an animals smart enough to not ruin the pelt would be a good skinner Running Will: Run as fast as a wild animal - Description fully described flavour wolves run fast you’re basically a humanoid wolf Darkflight: Brief move speed buff - Can view flavour as either the same as Running Wild just to a lesser degree since it’s not on all fours or as Worgen being slightly magical due to the curse and this is how that manifests animal speed without actually walking like an animal Viciousness: Increase critical strike chance - Don’t piss off a wolf, really don’t piss of a very tall human wolf who makes very good use of all that muscle and weapon holding ability Pretty sure this is all of them but I’m to lazy to watch the history worgen racials so I probably missed something
"Rather than having an ability that prevents them from dying in the first place"....but they have a passive racial for increased dodge? and Shadowmeld? I mean corpse running is one of the worst parts of the game so honestly Wisp Form is fantastic.
Strange that you missed the Vulpera racial where you can set up a camp somewhere, go do stuff and then instantly hearthstone back to camp. Did it get nerfed or something?
The speeds boosts in PvP can be massive in a battleground, since they allow you to hit objectives before anyone else, or run away from another player who can never catch you without slows. Didn't know zandalari didn't apply to mounts though...very sad.
How can you be so ignorant on Spatial Rift? This spell allows you to relocate while rooted. Which is irreplacable on some raid mechanics and allowed you to reposition a stacking root on Ghuun if the void elf was targeted (and move the ball further after full slow hits). Or to line of sight/outrange hurricane in pvp. Or to reach an enemy to stun them as a warrior, if you hapenned to be slowed or worse yet rooted. Or to jump off on zuldazar arena (and others) to misslead/gain 6 seconds speed. Or to move your holy priest spirit of redemption out of poo if you ress in it (or get in range of people you want to heal in both pvp and pve. Which especially for pvp might mean ressing at 100% hp instead of 10%). Or to spatial rift psychic scream. Or to reposition people for separate group stack/spread mechanics in Shadowlands as a priest by spatial rift => door of shadows => leap of faith => spatial rift. Or to dodge/bypass literally any beam on any boss ever like gul'dan, nzoth, eye of the jailer, elisande projectiles, tazavesh bosses, xy'mox etc. Or to survive xy mox pull alone. Or to skip Torghast traps. Or to spatial rift demonic circle into rift to leave mechanic goos and teleport back in circle without losing dmg. And no it moves at 100% speed flat, so you usually aren't faster homie.
running wild had quite the moment in the early shadowlands since it worked in the maw unlike every other mount and does still work in the maw intro
Yeah, felt good being a Worgen Rogue and/or a Druid.
ye they had the only mount till peps got lucky
Yup, which I'm like 85% sure is why he said that in the video

Almost like this was explained in the video or something wild like that
I feel like Dark Flight is a must have for Warlocks in PVP, it's so good to not have to kill yourself for a bit of speed.
Orc / human tho
Zandalari Pterrodax Swoop is a pretty awesome long distance mobility racial too, shame it's not useable in dungeons
Worgen Dark Flight is such a nice facial for me personally. If I played Alliance I would absolutely use it for my DK.
Nahh my guy at the spa getting a facial fr fr 💀💀
huh?

None of the upsides like... Going faster?
Uhhh

Inflatable mount shoes work on Running Wild, dunno about the other mount equipment, I just like running on water
Worgen death knight main, I can just run on water. I do theme my mounts per race/class and for my ground mount I use running wild just cause it looks cool

Human/Animal, Human/Night Elf both of which I think lead flavourfully to a mix of resistance to nature and shadow since nature is both something animals and NE are good at surviving and curses are generally associated with shadow magic
Two forms/Altered form: Change between human and Worgen for outside combat - Simple answer Werewolves, complex answer demonstrates that Worgen are in control of their curse post the quest Neither Human Nor Beast
Flayer: Claws are good for cutting and if animals are good at anything it’s cutting things fast so it makes sense an animals smart enough to not ruin the pelt would be a good skinner
Running Will: Run as fast as a wild animal - Description fully described flavour wolves run fast you’re basically a humanoid wolf
Darkflight: Brief move speed buff - Can view flavour as either the same as Running Wild just to a lesser degree since it’s not on all fours or as Worgen being slightly magical due to the curse and this is how that manifests animal speed without actually walking like an animal
Viciousness: Increase critical strike chance - Don’t piss off a wolf, really don’t piss of a very tall human wolf who makes very good use of all that muscle and weapon holding ability
Pretty sure this is all of them but I’m to lazy to watch the history worgen racials so I probably missed something
