First time seeing Skatta talk about something with full context behind it. I left with a lot of respect for him and with a different view of the man...for now. Thanks to The Fix for making guests speak.
Firstly, I am a proud Jamaican 🇯🇲, but we must address the elephant in the room. Some of us lack discipline, don't follow the rules, and misbehave, especially towards our fellow citizens. This sense of entitlement and lack of accountability is a disgrace. The dancehall artistes from the past laid the groundwork for current ones to thrive, make money and elevate the genre. I mention Ninja Man because he warned about the dangers of entourage-havin' too many people around can lead to trouble. These issues could have been handled privately rather than publicly. I believe Popcaan should apologise to Skatta Burrell for disrespecting his mother because he is close to his own mother. Don't let your ego make you lose everything. For the dancehall genre to progress, we must all work together and avoid the crab-in-a-barrel mentality. Regardless of your opinion on Vybz Kartel, it’s clear that he is a reformed person. The show setup was excellent. One love, Jamaica 🇯🇲 🌞.
The dancehall artistes in the past were very unruly and disrespectful too. Hence why overseas promoters book Japanese, German, American and even Latino Reggae and Dancehall artistes.
Definitely...no way they should have told the man about him mother on a world stage...if you see how Kartel reacted you can see he was very disappointed but had to keep the show going.
Well conducted interview fix 👏🏾👏🏾 I love how u guys aren’t afraid to ask the questions the people want to hear! skatta represented himself and his side of the story very well. He seems very humble and articulate. Respect and manners bring you thru the world keep up the great work fix 🔥🌪️
@ReshaGlows Lol people, the man said he kidnapped and assault the man, stop picking sides, and picked justice instead. People are not scared of sym, they are scared of people attacking them and putting their hands on them. They sym discussion went out the window when the assault took place. That's what needs to be discussed.
So it's okay to assault someone because your mom is sick? I can't even see why we are discussing sym after an assault. Typical Jamaican style. The man say he kidnapped the man and took him downstairs, and all the people concerned about his sym.
@@lighthouse9202 so you’re actually comparing Popcaan and his entourage to some woman who have been raped? 🤦🏽♂️. That’s a bit of a stretch in analogy. How was popcaan violated? Vybz Kartel Freedom Street Concert Economic Impact to Jamaica Estimated around 1.5 billion in revenue. Skatta should actually be a Gate keeper because many years ago producers and promoters enforced standards which enhanced artists development. I believe many Artist should start complying with the rules and do it for the culture and protection of their fans. I wouldn’t take the SYM personally because at this point is just dancehall and artist always say things to build clout. And if you call them they will tell you it’s nothing personal. With that said Chronic Law is a real big Artist and has came along way and deserved a level of respect. Popcaan probably the biggest dancehall artist since 2020 and need to use his platform and promote positivity to inspire the next generation of artists. The show was a success and I really saw Vybz Kartel’s growth. It’s a big deal. I think having a band in addition to the DJ would have been a bonus. Skatta and everyone involved did a great job it’s historic for dancehall.
