Why you should take the Earliest Daytrip to Mayan Chichen Itza - Mexico Travel Guide

Without doubt the most famous of all Mayan cities in Mexico, the ruins of Chichen Itza contain many fascinating structures such as the Pyramid of Kukulcan and the largest ballcourt in Mesoamerica.
To get there from Cancun takes around a 3 hour drive, and I had opted for an organised day tour that also stops off at a cenote.
Join me in my tour of this extensive archaeological site that had its downfall around 1,000 years ago.

The tour was arranged through the GetYourGuide website. There are quite a lot of variations of the tours which include other stops - mine also stopped off at a place for a buffet lunch and at a cenote. One that arrives at Chichen Itza as soon as it opens is completely worth it though as the site gets very busy by 10am!
