Love this game. When I was a kid my local store had this game and we would play it for hours. We would pick a corner and both us players would stand inside each other and aim in a different directions and keep firing until we racked up the points and levels. Good times
What a unique game! Don't think I've ever seen anything like it. I've never played this, so thanks for showing us, Alex. Love the digitised speech, reminds me of Exile on the BBC Micro.
My knowledge of arcade games and the older home computers isn’t vast and I’m ashamed to say I’ve not heard of Wizard of Wor. I do love D&D however so this looks right up my street! It looks like a strange cross between Pac-Man and Gauntlet but strange in a good way. It’s a beautifully decorated cabinet and a worthy addition to your collection 🙂
Awesome looking machine, and excellent playable game. Simple but fun game play that makes you want to have one more go. It gets manic quite quickly too. Cool didn't realise the button layout was different from normal. And not a deep cab either, that's quite different having the tube stick out like that. I suppose that would lower the total weight. Hope you are well, 1st day of only working 1/2 time, so technically on holidays at home for 1/2 the time as well now. So maybe I will have time to finally get more of my machines working (hopefully Berzerk very soon!) and I can get onto getting more of them back to their original glory.
electricadventures That would be fantastic to see more arcade videos Tony Are you using the original berzerk pcb or jroc? Your game is coming along nicely mate 😎👍 Hope you and family are ok Stay safe
Hey Alex Wizard of wor looks a great game. Fantastic artwork and the speech is well creepy. This is a must pick up for the Atari 👍🏻 Brilliant vid as always Take it easy and stay healthy. All the best jay
That cab just screams 80s That board stack would scare the shit out of me😳 Love the music on this one too! Roll on the end of this virus and then we can get VacFest back on
i used to have this game on the vic-20 and really loved it. If Darrel Brieley is reading this then can you return my cartridge that i lent you in 1983 asap. Thank you :)
Love this game, my local arcade has one; i spent half an hour on it a few months back (1 player), got deep into it, really enjoyed the map feature. The invisible monsters are great fun haha Great artwork and cab presentation, I agree the medieval english font is brilliant. That cab with its light wear looks incredible. I have a 1970 Midway Sportsman cab that has cream paint with brown splash dots, definitely a cool effect; that no one that ive asked knows how they managed it by the way. Wow the pcb drawer is handy. You going to Triple Thick the bezel?
WildernessGames and Arcade hey Mitch All I’m going to do is get my friend to make a new bezel made from glass. It will have to wait now with all this shit going on.
Very nice! Do you ever have a clue what it's saying apart from when it says Wizard of Wor and ha ha ha ha? Love the Votrax sound even if I rarely know what it's going on about, personally.
Kinto Zero yea it was quite a big thing growing up, it seemed so futuristic and the cutting edge of new technology. Was more special than the graphics bitd
Dylan Conduzzi I think I could never compete with John and not that I’m trying too, johns a good friend of mine and his channel is so much better than mine. But I’m honoured to be compared. Thanks mate
M NX I think there are a couple of people but not many. There’s a guy on uk Vac who has a unbelievable Nintendo collection I’m hoping to do a tour of soon when all this crap has blown over. He’s got a radar scope but it all ways was one. Most people want a Dk so it’s not a popular game.
Excellent video , Alex. A welcome break from watching porn during self-isolation ;-) Keep up the good work. I never played this one in the arcade back in the day, but really got into it after discovering it on my MAME cab. The crazy sci-fi sounds and vivid colours, along with great gameplay, make it. Awesome co-op game as well, with the twist you can kill each other. Have the joysticks been replaced? I think the originals used custom switches/leafs where you could do a double tap or something when you moved.
Simon Perry porn lol ha ha ha 😂 Yea it has the original sticks and the tap I’m still getting used to. It certainly makes a difference in close corners. Thanks Simon

Such a classic era for games.

Very Nice. Wizard of Wor was one of my favs as a kid, the voice, the music and the gameplay are classic. Still play it via Mame to this day.
What a unique game! Don't think I've ever seen anything like it. I've never played this, so thanks for showing us, Alex. Love the digitised speech, reminds me of Exile on the BBC Micro.
onaretrotip I can’t get exile to work on my bbc sd card

Very nice indeed.
scruffyHerrbert Thanks dude
i used to have this game on the vic-20 and really loved it. If Darrel Brieley is reading this then can you return my cartridge that i lent you in 1983 asap. Thank you :)
There are some fantastic conversions of this game especially on the Atari 2600 with the speech.
I hope Darrel returns your game 😂

WildernessGames and Arcade hey Mitch
All I’m going to do is get my friend to make a new bezel made from glass.
It will have to wait now with all this shit going on.
Cool! With have to give this a go next time I'm at Arcade Club - if they ever let me out to go. 😉
Andrew Butler Might be a long time but when you do give it a 2 player game it’s so much fun
Very nice! Do you ever have a clue what it's saying apart from when it says Wizard of Wor and ha ha ha ha? Love the Votrax sound even if I rarely know what it's going on about, personally.
OneSwitch I do, I’ll write it all down next time I’m playing and let you know 👍
Awesome video and great game to see. Would like to see how you killed the wizard. Stay safe mate.

@@TheArcadeArchive crap let me check I got a fire that thing up and look lol
Great game and great vid mate thank you.
invaderboy71 Thanks buddy
You really seem to enjoy the retro computerized speech! You had similar praise in your Astro Blaster video.
Kinto Zero yea it was quite a big thing growing up, it seemed so futuristic and the cutting edge of new technology.
Was more special than the graphics bitd
I’ve never played this mate but I’ll give it a try on the mame cab 👍
Dean Swain see if you can play two player with your son dean, it’s so much more fun two player.
I feel like we lost John to the console hobby and picked you up into the arcade hobby ( though of course it’s never an either or). Fair trade I say :)
Dylan Conduzzi I think I could never compete with John and not that I’m trying too, johns a good friend of mine and his channel is so much better than mine.
But I’m honoured to be compared.
Thanks mate
Have you ever thought about to restore a Original Donkey Kong back into a Radar Scope?? no one is talking about that...👍🤘
M NX I think there are a couple of people but not many.
There’s a guy on uk Vac who has a unbelievable Nintendo collection I’m hoping to do a tour of soon when all this crap has blown over.
He’s got a radar scope but it all ways was one.
Most people want a Dk so it’s not a popular game.
@@TheArcadeArchive i know. but like Sheriff, it's rare...
Great video! What's your high score now? I just picked up a 100% original survivor Wizard of Wor the other day. Man is this game fun to play!
Hi mate
Unfortunately I sold mine as I didn’t have room in my new home.
It is a great game and even better two player.
@@TheArcadeArchive Oh man too bad! Hope you still get to play it on location somewhere.
Excellent video , Alex. A welcome break from watching porn during self-isolation ;-) Keep up the good work.
