I have moved to Germany and all I can say is my god, the lakes near and around where I live are insane and so beautiful looking, and that is just within 20 mins all around me. I cant wait to sort out a fishing license and bits here as it is a little different and not as straight forward as you would think, but some of the carp I have seen cruising already in some lakes. I know exactly what you're saying about the driving, me and my fishing buddy drove down to Lac du St Cassien from Essex about 15 years ago and although we knew it was a long old schlep down there, we were not prepared for the reality of it!! We were in a battered old Ford Transit with a dodgy gearbox and it kept over-heating (during France's longest heat-wave it had seen in many years-of course!!). These day's I wouldn't even consider going abroad in an old banger, but we were young and so buzzed-up about fishing Cassien that we didn't really care about the state of the motor!! But anyway, I'm with you, driving is well worth it to have your own independence and all your gear/bait/general supplies etc. Yet another great vid as always Steve. All the best.
Try a deeper smart sonar for travel and portable depth finding capabilities! I got one as a Christmas present and it has absolutely changed my life as a bankfisherman. I have the 3.0 and it works just fine but I recommend the pro + from the reviews and the ability to map lakes from shore. Fantastic fish, by the way! I'm just getting into carp fishing and decided to do it the "euro" style. Thanks for the information and entertainment!
