This is an amazing edit. Really does justice to the depth and dynamic of how this friendship is written, and especially how it's acted. This is like a highlights-showcase of some of their most incredible acting moments, the sort of thing which could be used to show a non-fan just how high-quality this show really is. Your exact timing for how you cut scenes is really amazing (my favorite is the moment where Murphy smirks after the "this is like your fifth chance" "yours too, Murphy" exchange, because it really is a smirk worth resting on for a moment and appreciating, before he goes defensive again and says his next line ... really great choice of cut there, lets us really appreciate that split second). I love the order you used for telling their story. Seriously, this is just so cool. I've never before been all that active in a fandom or watched video edits about anything, but videos like these really make me appreciate what a legitimate kind of fanart this is. Thanks for making it, and giving me 4 minutes to just marinate in some of my favorite emotions from this incredible series.
Emerald Thank you so much for your kind words. Comments like this is why I enjoy editing. ❤️
@@XxxShatteredDreamsxxX Awww of course! So glad it was meaningful to you! Responses like that are why I enjoy the compulsion to share compliments when I think them up, no matter whether I feel silly or how many words it takes to try to frame them lol!
Emerald this is my fav show I’ve seen all the episodes i love this edit not saying if Amira died Clarke and Jon got together that would be cool
Hey! Can you watch and rate my videos please?
@@WellDone00 Your content/the relevant franchises don't happen to be familiar or appealing to me at all, sorry yo, but props on at least saying "please" in a self-promotion comment haha
Murphy is the only one that comforted Clarke for lexa
@Simon Cowell that was one episode after Lexa's death i guess so episode 8 season 3
Isn’t that because he saw the relationship unlike all the others
I mean he was the only one there
@@georgeclotte2469 Yeah, this, lol. He was the only one there besides the Flamekeeper (whose name I can't remember, anyway screw that guy, I get his motives & the character makes sense & works well but I still personally hate him lol) and there really wasn't so much as half a second for Clarke or anyone else to pause and do any other grieving before things had to press forward. Barely anyone even learned about how Lexa died before bigger problems continued.
TITUS. It came to me the second I hit the button lol. My brain wouldn't let go of "Silas" but I know that's the guy from 3% (amazing show btw, 3rd season fell flat but would recommend S1/S2 highly)
If you had told me while I was watching season 1, that I'd end up liking Muphy's character, then I would not have believed it at all.
He have really grown on me
Right? I wanted him to die in every episode in season 1, now I can't imagine the show without him
Sabi-Arts lol, my friend was the same she just started the show and she said she hated murphy and I told her that she will like him later on and she said "no way" and now he is her favorite character
Nice likes
agreed season 1 murphy i kinda hate him too.
@@Rishabh180 The best part IMO is that Murphy's character evolved because of how the actor brought it to life, and the writers responded reactively to the way the actors transformed their characters over time. I believe he was originally supposed to die reasonably early but they just kept going and going with him and he grew into the amazing underdog-turned-favorite best-arc-having guy we all love today.
Anyone else notice that tear when he said "Just so you know Jospehine called me John" it warmed my heart
right I was like hes soo happy. honestly i ship there friendship more than I shipped bellamy and clarke romantic one.
When I watched this episode, even before finishing it, I think I replayed this scene like five or six times in a row before I could move forward. Such an incredible scene, and such incredible acting. (I think Emori's face spoke for all of us, in terms of reacting to Clarke having to keep a MIRACULOUS POKER FACE SOMEHOW when she encountered Simone ...)
@@ItsAsparageese do you know the episode?
@@arissantorisonmars9271 season 6 episode 13
Yeah, as if to just say, that's how he knew it wasn't her.
the smile of Murphy when she said "yours too" was awesome hahaha
hahaha yeah
One of my all-time favorite moments. And one of the very few where he drops the mask for a split second. I'm so delighted that this video cuts juuuust after that second instead of skipping it. It's a great example of how insanely complex the acting is and how layered the characters and their histories are. This show communicates SO MUCH through quick facial expressions and tiny bits of information-buried-in-backstory that you really have to think through. It's incredible. The actors make it possible for the story to be so rich despite the limited screen time.
Who knew when Murphy put a knife to Clarke’s throat in season 1 that they would become best friends. 🤷♀️
Or that the roles would be reversed even if it wasn't really Clarke
I always liked Murphy a lot but this last season I feel he judged Clarke too much despite all the mistakes he made...I wish he had at least supported Clarke when everyone was upset with her, since he knows better than anyone about making bad decisions ....
Totally agree with you but maybe it's the fact that he knows how it feels and when he was held a countable it did better.....and maybe he it trying to do that for Clarke? But so true he should lay off cuz he did bad things too
I think he really did understand her and support her more than he showed, it was just hard to see it because his resentment and frustration was also on the surface. I think the part where Clarke was willing to sacrifice/experiment on Emori (even though I completely agree with Clarke's reasoning, Emori was an idiot and brought that on herself) really hurt Murphy in a way that wasn't just about anger, but was about him being vulnerable, since it was the first time he'd really loved anyone besides himself, so that affected him uniquely and makes him have a certain fear of trusting Clarke again. So that's what shows on his surface. But inside, we got to see really early in Season 6 that he fundamentally cares about her and wants her to be okay. When he shot at her and Bellamy during the Red Sun, it was to keep Bellamy from turning on Clarke and attacking her -- and then at the moment when he comes in and sees Clarke with the radio ... man, I still get goosebumps every time I think of that scene. But yeah, I think Richard's acting speaks for itself in that scene. So yeah, point is, I too would have liked to see Murphy be more supportive of Clarke, in the sense that if I were their friend I would be telling him to lighten up -- but as a character, I think Murphy was doing exactly what Murphy needed to do, and that he really did care about Clarke on the inside, he just needed his hard shell on because he was still afraid she'd betray him again.
@@ItsAsparageese that was the most accurate description of Murphy ive heard
This the last season!!!@
@@nakaylahsmith7356 Aww thank you, I'm glad it's being understood at all haha
Murphy's reaction to Josephine calling him John. That is all you need to know how much clarke actually means to him. People give Murphy so much shit, but he cares for his friends so much. He deserves redemption. I love their relationship. He knows how much she cared for Lexa, and she knows how much he cares for Emori. One of the best friendships on the show in my opinion.
fr like he was the only one would said something when lexa died to clarke..

Murphy and Clarke’s relationship is really amazing to me! They’ve both been through so much just to survive and that has made them both cockroaches, which is something I’m really happy that they can bond over. Even if Murphy does judge Clarke for the things she’s done, I think he only does that because he also judges himself for the things he’s done. I think they see a lot of themselves in each other, which creates a really deep connection that they don’t even have to voice to realize it. After all these years, it really warms my heart to see how Murphy reacted to Clarke’s death in season 6. The second he realized Clarke was gone, he gave up, because he knew if Clarke was gone then it was all over. He has relied on her to give him hope and the second he realized she was alive, he shed a tear because he knew he could return to that hope. Murphy fights to survive and betrays people to do so but, when Clarke is in charge, Murphy can actually just relax and let her fight for him and I think he takes comfort in that. Even if she has to make hard choices to keep him and everyone else alive, he’s relieved that he doesn’t have to fight and make those choices for himself and that makes him a appreciate her a lot. Their friendship is really something and I hope we see a little more of it before the show is over.
The "I'm sorry. I know how much she meant to you" breaks my heart every time
what minute did he say that?
Minute?
@@Malak0613after lexa’s death
The 'I'm proud of you Murphy' is so much beautiful. Finally, they will train the family that I have always wanted. Thank you for video.
" hell is big enough for both of us " i love that joke
I think Murphy has had the most character development in my opinion. this show has shown the most character development I’ve seen in a long time. Just like Clark said I was very proud of Murphy this season he had shown parts of him I’ve never seen before and he actually cared about people which I loved. None of them would be there if Murphy wasn’t there I’m so happy he was in the season and alive I love him
tbh Murphy showed more sadness when told Clarke died then half of the others...
Emily F not more than Bellamy
zyuan coleman what relationships did Murphy have with Clarke ? Plus Bellamy cried, got mad and saved her
I like how Murphy and Raven have their own relationship after everything that happened with him shooting her.
I love Team Cockroach. I hope they're on more friendly terms in the last season
Tania wtf..
@zyuan coleman ok i'm hunderstand i'm sorry
I didn't realize I loved their friendship so much until the last season. It was then that I realized Murphy was always the one who told Clarke like it was without any BS. He never coddled her or tried to help her feel good about her decisions. He was always real with her and I think Clarke learned to appreciate that despite his attitude. Also Murphy learned to appreciate Clarke for being able to make the hard decisions even when the result wasn't all that clean. Because she did it for them.
Let's all agree that in season one we all hated him but then became very fond of him seasons later on❤❤
I love Murphy. I love how his relationship with everyone has developed over the course of the show, especially Bellamy. I really hope they get a chance to have him and Clarke become better friends too though. They are like each others honest friend that's a little mean but always ends up on your side when things go haywire. I am a little terrified that he will die in the final season and if that happens I will be devastated, he deserves a happy ending after all the crap he has been through. I'd also appreciate a little more Raven time too.
Steph Willer ikr Raven deserves more time
Clarke and Murphy had such an underrate friendship, honestly
Murphy has had one of the best character arcs in the series
The part when she says im proud of you murphy.. oh my so good, you can tell murphy is really happy and thankfull
If Emori was out of the picture, I’d ship it 😂💖
I feel like Clarke is like an older sister to Murphy.
Murphy's an a******but deep down they both know they got each other's backs
John really exploited her death but she was the first person to told him 'I'm proud of you' everyone around him always shove on his face that he's just the cockroach, the greedy one around but Clarke saw him in another way 😭
So far, the best character build up ever was john murphy’s through out the entire show
We’ve come such a long way with Murphy I have come to love him so much and I know I’m not the only one! Oh and he will forever be our cockroach 😂💖💓
Their friendship is so so underrated. I love their dinamic and development ugh we need more Clurphy scenes in season 7
when Clark says that she was proud of Murphy I think they should’ve had their first hug it would have been perfect. When Josephine told Murphy Clark was dead the shock. In his eyes just rewatch that part at the beginning!!!!
YES! I definitely wanted them to hug lol
Emily Belous yes but it was impossible cause she was suposed to be Josephine
I love this so much!! Their friendship will always be so interesting to me.
John Murphy is the most tricky character, sometimes I hate him, sometimes I love him. But he has definitely changed since season 1 and he is so much better ❤️
This show does nothing but kill characters. 8 have a theory about why everyone says may we meet again before they die.... It's got to do with the anomaly
Rene Alc omg 😱 wow u maybe right u got me jumping
Omg we might see lexa, Roan, Lincoln again I really hope it happens
Holy shit
This has me shook
In a good way
They have one of the most interesting relationships in the show.
The 100 will be always on my heart
Kurama LEGION I thought a season 7 was being produced?
I don't ship Murphy & Clarke, but this edit is sooooooo amazing!😻 they're really have chemistry.
The look he had on his face when Clarke had the knife to her throat
i'm not crying you're crying this season Murphy really grew on me. beautiful editing love it
This is extraordinarily beautiful! I love their relationship so much, it’s so underrated!
Thank you! 🖤
Murphy adds comedy to the show and lightens it up just a bit, he's one of my favorites, this was bittersweet bc of the Josie betrayal thing
I definitely agree with you, & he's one of my favorites too.
They were like siblings to each other 🥺
For me Murphy has the best character development. I'm so proud if him. His kindness and goodness is innate. Despite being casted, blamed, tortured, acussed, and all the bad things happened to him, the goodness in him is still bigger no matter what.
For Murphy Clarke saying those words to him was an honor.
Wasn't he one of only 3 people she told that to (Madi and Bellamy the others). I think that there could have been a lot more development between these two because we clearly know there's a lot of developments off screen. In fact I don't think they ever really fought after season 1... most of the scenes they were in they were helping each other out. Underrated friendship.
Edit: I know in season 6 episode 2 there was a scene of them where Murphy was calling her out, but in that same episode he also saved her life multiple times... and after we found out Clarke was still alive John informed Bellamy how to find Gabriel.
The most underrated friendship
I hope everyone remembers they were teenagers when they came down and even after the six year time gap they are still very young
I like how Emori makes that face when Clarke calls him out knowing that she has a point in the beginning of this video.
Its beautiful!! I love Murphy and their friendship. It was depicted perfectly! I'm glad that somebody focused on them for a change as well.
That friendship is the most beautiful of all. I would like them to be a couple, but there is Bellarke.
And Memori/Murven
honestly one of my favorite friendships on this show
The definition of "Character Development"
2:19 this scene looks so innocently cute. It makes it hard to imagine that it was from a show as intense as the 100
Murphy and Clarke one of the REAL survivors of the show. I would never believe if that someone told me the boy with a bitchy attitude would stand in the finale season alive, with a good character development.
one of my favorite friendships, even though they never really show it they both care for each other deeply
I love their friendship! Great editing!
Thank you!
clarke'ı herkesle shipliyorum
Emori watching this: 🖖😫🖐
Why am I just seeing this now?? I love them so much and this video is beautiful!
I remember in season 1 when I was just waiting for someone to kill Murphy. But he kinda grew on me...
I feel like they would be cute together
Murphy was such a good character and his progression was the best compared to all the other characters. After that trip to the city of light with Jaha and meeting Emori, that was the beginning of the growth of his character.
these edits are so good thank you for making these I love the 100 so much and you did it so well
I love their friendship. So beautiful and underrated. Thanks for this!
everyone blames clarke for killing finn but it was to spare him of the suffering he’d endure. for letting a bomb drop but it was to protect bellamy’s cover, for killing all the people who helped them in mt weather but she also killed the guilty AND saved her people. for getting everyone of their people in the bunker despite octavia winning the conclave, but in her mind she was saving their people. for her burning 300 grounders but they attacked their ship. for leaving bellamy, gaia and indra in the fighting pit but it was to protect madi. for killing bellamy but it was to protect madi once again, but that ended up not mattering because madi turns herself in anyway. but for some reason they forgive lexa for betraying clarke at mt weather forcing clarke and bellamy to kill everyone in there, bellamy for almost letting clarke die in season 1, octavia and abby for everything they did in the bunker, murphy for season 1, bellamy for siding with pike and executing the grounders sent to protect them, pike for killing lincoln, finn for murdering a grounder village, charlotte for killing wells, bellamy for putting the idea of killing wells in charlotte’s head, kane for season 1, i absolutely hated jasper after mt weather cuz he became a complete dick after, jaha for every float he ordered, everyone on the counselors for sending the 100 prisoners to die, even raven has sent 4 welders to their death, lied about the radiation level and locked murphy in with them, shaw for locking the weapon system and letting raven and murphy get tortured for it, echo and emerson for blowing up mt weather with the skaikru in it, echo cheating in the conclave, killing ilian, echo trying to kill octavia on the cliff, echo for killing the real echo, raven for making and jasper for blowing up the bomb on the bridge to stop the grounders from attacking, ontari for killing all the night blood children (yes i know she is a villain but no one ever talks about her wrong doings), abby lying to raven so she can cure the prisoners, abby with her drug addiction, abby torturing raven with the shock collar, etc. but no one ever praises clarke for saving their lives over and over. SHE tested herself with night blood instead of emori, SHE was ready to let her own mother die if it meant saving the world from A.L.I.E, SHE put the flame in her head and stopped A.L.I.E. SHE gave cage and emerson every opportunity to end things peacefully so her friends could live but they (and lexa) forced her hand, SHE stayed behind and made sure there was power on the ark when they went up leaving herself in praimfaya. SHE told monty and bellamy to give her another choice at mt weather but they couldn’t. SHE saved jasper and finn’s lives. no one ever talks about what she’s lost, her dad, finn, lexa, her mother, her best friend and most of her other friends. she had to watch most of those deaths. she even had to watch her allies die in front of her, like anya. they’ve all got demons, they’ve all done things they aren’t proud of, some worse than others… but everyone seems to forgive each other, clarke forgives everyone, but no one forgives her. she gets hate for both, for killing the ones hurting her people or for not doing enough to save her people… and yet is always the person everyone goes to when they need saving, they just like to blame her for how she saves them
Murphy forgot Clarke saved Emori when she lied to sacrifice a man didn't do anything. And Clarke sacrificed herself because Murphy and even Emori were her family. It seems like he had forgotten every thing she did for all of them. That's hypocrisy.
from villain to hero! john murphy! is the vegeta of the 100!
Where is the clip of murphy throwing the stick after coming back from assention? And looking at Clarke and saying "There she is"
I didn’t even really see their friendship until the end of season 6, when he started crying when she called him Murphy. Then watching this video I’ve realize how much I’ve over looked it.
this... was... just... epic. Thank you for making it.
The friendship of Clark and murphy reminds me of Bonnie and Damen
This is the best edit of the 100 it is very moving for a fan and at the same time shows someone who is not a fan how it is very good series it also shows the best character developement of pop culture
I love how even though they aren't the bestist of friends he knows her well enough to immediately figure out that she wasn't Clarke just because she call him John, instead of Murphy.
I still See This Video 2024 and still cry 😢❤
Is one of the best videos of The 100.It's really amazing edit and i love that relationship clarke and murphy builded over the 7 seasons.
I feel like Clarke and Murphy have a love/hate friendship. Its so special. For one or another reason they keep saving eachothers as-. They fight a lot but they care about eachother and would cry if one died.
They argue but usually when they're together they are in agreement with each other (post season 1 they had like one scene where Murphy called her out).
One of the most underrated friendships on this show ever
OH MURPHY ERES MI FAVORITO.
ME GUSTO LO LEAL QUE DEMOSTRO SER.
I never cried so much in my life this is the best edit I have ever seen
IDK HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES I HAVE WATCHED THAT SCENE WHEN HE SAID: “just so you to know, Josephine called me John” AND ALL THE TIMES I CRY
I LOVE THE WEIRD FRIENDSHIP THAT THEY HAVE AND HOW MURPHY TREATS HER, IDK IT IS DIFFERENT BUT I LOVE IT
Can you do a vid about the friendship between Jasper and Clarke? I really felt for them, they had the most tragic friendship in the whole series, along with Jasper and Monty.
0:36 is that “our” in an Australia accent
Emori is simply beautiful ❤️
Out of all of Clarke’s “friends” Murphy was the only one who noticed Clarke’s love for Lexa before she even admitted to it and he was the only one who comforted her through Lexa’s death🥺❤️
Omg i‘m crying. I love them.
they are not friends, he betrayed her even when he knew she is alive
Now this is what platonic looks like Jason
Murphy & octavias character development is the best ones I’ve ever seen in any show. Murphy learned that being selfless wasn’t bad, that it was okay to risk everything for the people you love, Clarke taught him that.
I love their friendship, it's very realistic as it has so many changes like almost killing each other to risking your own life to save the other
mifavorite is clarke eliza taylor
They were like brother and sister💯
Murphy and Clarke.
Their dynamic is just FASCINATING to me. Every interaction is just so full of feeling; layers and layers that just keep getting more and more complicated as the show progresses.
Both of them have done a lot of bad and both of them know it. Despite how much bad blood they have, neither can justify demonizing the other because they’re well aware that they are also guilty.
They clearly have some level of respect for each other as the show goes on, but they can’t really justify being *friends* either thanks to all of the bad blood from the past.
They both have had mutual friends, and they’ve had mutual enemies. They have both hurt each other, and have both helped each other. They have shared trauma, but they’re also caused each other trauma.
Their backstories are also mirrored: Clarke is from a privileged family, her dad tried to help her and the rest of their people and got floated for it. Murphy is presumably middle to lower class, his father tried to help him and got floated for it. They both fell out with their mom afterwards, but Clarke got reconciliation with hers while Murphy didn’t. Clarke took on a leadership role and as a result a lot of people grew to respect her and depend on her, and she does her best to help them. At the same time, this means when things go wrong or hard decisions have to be made, Clarke gets the brunt of the blame and anger. Murphy is the group delinquent which means a lot of people blame him for things that aren’t his fault, just like Clarke. But also like Clarke, people come to him for uglier jobs because he’s actually weirdly dependable in certain situations. Their priorities are also similar with just slight differences; Clarke is “my group must survive at all costs,” whereas Murphy is “I must survive at all costs.” Murphy is often portrayed as the bad guy for his version of ‘survival above all else’ mentality, but really why is it different? If you’re prioritizing your people over anyone else, that really isn’t THAT different from prioritizing yourself above all else, especially when you’re an outcast (like Murphy), making YOU your own people.
Murphy and Clarke are actually SUPER similar with just a few key differences that make them SEEM super different without really digging into it. And honestly? I think they come to understand and respect this about one another. That’s the vibe I get from their relationship anyways.
Just pay close attention to their interactions, and maybe if you have some free time/are bored some day once you’re caught up, rewatch some of their scenes from compilations or something.
Every single one of their interactions is just brimming with complexity and it just keeps getting more and more complicated with every season.
They hit like every major platonic relationship trope: enemies to friends, friends to enemies, rivals, foils/mirrors, they’re both often scapegoats, etc.
Absolutely insane relationship, probably my favorite in the whole show, and WAY under appreciated by fans.
How did I never notice this fascinating relationship between them? I guess I noticed in season 6 because it was front and center to the story they told, but this has been going on since season 1. I’m never gonna be able to see them interacting without remembering this video.
the fact that it took them 7 seasons to hug
I’ve liked Murphy since season one, all the shit he’s gone through makes him my favourite character in the entire series
I think Murphy really cares about Clarke as a friend and even though he shows anger towards her and says harsh he truly cares and when he thought Clarke was dead he was hurt and when he found out Clarke was still alive he couldn’t have been happier. I love this show and I REALLY REALLY HOPE they go longer than seven season! 🤞🏻❤️ I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH and I don’t want it to end. ❤️💕
Okay, I've never been one to ship Clarke with Murphy because I'm huge on Memori and Bellarke, BUT, I'm imagining, what if Clarke went through with testing the nightblood on Emori, and Emori ended up being left behind instead, and Murphy and Clarke end up pulling a Becho on her 😂😂 imagine the twist. The angst!
Note: I'm aware this is a friendship edit, I was just thinking about it.
Note #2: This is a great video :) made me appreciate their friendship more. Thank you :)❤️
murphy is a good example of character development
