Great job! That Twisted Sister album was the 2nd album I ever bought with my own money. The 1st was Quiet Riot’s Mental Health. I love it! Keep rocking!!!
Those were the best MTV videos ever as well! What a time it was to be 19 years young! The price of getting old now but it was worth living through the Eighties!
i had the Cassette when it came out in 84 i still have it somewhere. i would love for you to cover Thunderstruck,Fade to Black by Metallica,Summer of 69, Bark at the Moon by Ozzy Osbourne.
I grew up on Long Island, near Dee and the guys. Had the pleasure of meeting Mark "The Animal" Mendoza as well. Seen Dee with his solo bands a few times AND got to see his son Blaze open for his Dad. Nice job on this, Em!!! When you get the chance, check out Guitarist Eddie Ojeda's cover of Eleanor Rigby with Dee on Vox!!! I always enjoy listening to you rockin' out to the stuff I grew up and STILL listen to.
I love TS! Great job and you have a beautiful Kramer guitar 😍 I have to say that "The Price" is one of my favorite song from them. Have a great weekend 😊🤘
Excellent job Emily! I was a twisted sister concert, goer album buyer, and rocker of the day. Dee Snyder was an expert at keeping organized and the band totally synchronized during these live performances. I so respected him for all that.
Its funny this was the first video I watched bc this solo was the first solo I ever learned by ear lol Richie Sambora is the reason I picked up a guitat in 1992 at 21 years old and once I learned how to read tabliture, my first solo I ever leanred was Bon Jovi Bed of Roses, then the solo from Richies first solo album 1991, Stranger in this Town (in my opinion the best blues/rock album ever) and I leanred the solo to Father Time! Once I keanred tabliture my very first song I learned was Nobodys Fool by Cinderella and then I was like: WOW I JUST PLAYED THAT lol
@@guitarbyemily Amen sister! I knew he was Ana amazing and underrated player in BJ, but when I heard his playing on the Stranger in this Town album, I was totally hooked. His arpeggios, and accent embellishments at the end of songs were a masterpiece! Especially the title track solo. He so soulful and could hit and bend the note just perfectly to make the solo work! He's also a master at pinch hramoncos and the solo to Wanted displays that lol
@@guitarbyemily One song that really helps me with my rhythm playing, and it may sound weird as hell, is Livin after Midnight by Judas Priest lol You wouldn't think so but the down strokes on the Em chord through the verses are hard to play in tempo with the song lol Your natural instinct is to want to play it faster lol I actually warm up my rhythm playing with Enter Sandman and this ☝️ song.
I am old enough, to have had my mom buy this CASSETTE for me back in 1984. I was just 9 years old, but already rocking out. The album cover just intrigued me. And as a kid I had no idea what to make of his makeup and look lol Was very confused lol But I was rocking out to this at that age lol I would fake pretend I was singing. Especially I WANNA ROCK. My sisters and I would put on a fake lip syncing, and air guitar performance lol
Almost blew my ears with my first walkman playing this tape 1000 times...fun times. I was busted when Grandma found the tape cover....Dee eating a bone in drag!!! Lol❤ Thanks Emily 😊
Great job! Twisted Sister, Stay Hungry tour was the second concert I ever saw 40 years ago at the Poughkeepsie Civic Center in NY. The first super energenic concert I saw and I was in the 1st row. My first concert was Dio.The Last in Line tour.
I see so much improvement in your technique from each video that you post. I've been messing with guitars since 1990, and I still pick up things I never knew from you. I love watching your videos. Keep it up, Emily. \m/
Awesome! I destroyed Stay Hungry on LP back in the day!! Come out and Play would be a great follow up!! (Hint Hint 😀) Thank you. Have an amazing weekend!
Great playing, Good cover of my all-time Fav song, a song that to this day. My mom still occasionally reminds me of how i used to blast this song as a teen in the 80s. Whenever angry at her LOL
a classic fun song no doubt but I want to ask the no stairway to heaven plaque? actually that guitar track is fairly difficult especially if you can't play 12 strings which in it's own right is not easy
Another great cover Emily. I'm looking forward to your concert videos. Have you read the book titled 'Nothin But A Good Time....The Uncensored History of the 80's Hard Rock Explosion'? It came out a couple of years ago and is a great read. With your love of 80's hard rock, you will enjoy it.
Love it Emily!!! You Rock! That was the first time I saw Twisted Sister live was on this tour. It was Mama's Boys from Ireland, Ratt, and Twisted Sister the headliner in Albany, NY my home city. Great show! I have saw them a total of 5 times back in the day. If you have never heard Mama's Boys, check them out. They rocked. They were 3 brothers with the last name McManus. Happy Friday to you and family, have a great weekend, and keep rocking like always!!! 😃🤘🤘
Who got you started with the 80s music, did your parents listen to 80s music That’s where you got started and great song, Twisted Sister we’re not gonna take it anymore .
@guitarbyemily This rocked Emily! One of my favourite 80's tunes. I'd like to ask how you record your covers? Do you mute or remove the audio of the part you're playing within the song so it's just your guitar being heard? What tools or program do you use to achieve this? I would like to start doing the same for songs I learn so I can document myself and upload the videos to my channel. I have one song i've done already, which was just me playing along to the song on my CD player. I would like to redo this one at some point and record a newer version with my improved playing as well as for future songs I learn. Maybe you've spoken about this before and i've just missed it and you could point me to a video if you've made one on the topic. Thanks in advance 🙂

I used to use my whammy bar playing the song on the solo put other songs I usually waved the strings from the neck without the bar.

2 things 1. You did an amazing job with the song. 2. You need some band patches for that vest. Make it a true battle jacket.
Yes I do!! Thanks!!
Fun

Nice, great tune. That 2nd to 6th fret spread is tricky - good thing you have long fingers!
Thanks!

Nice guitar. On a sadder note did you hear Jack Russell, the lead singer from Great White died? I assume you know who that is.
Yes, I'm very sad to hear that:(
That’s indeed a fun song to play. You did a great job!
Thanks!
Another great cover, Emily!
I´ve been playing this song since my teenage years, just start the first chords all hell breaks loose!
