Fuckin' hell...I'm a 25 year old dude, born in 1990, I was 9 when this came out, totally remember bugging my parents for this CD and Nsync's NSA, listening to it in my room on my boombox or walkman CD player, reading magazines, playing Pokemon on my Gameboy Color, I cannot absolutely cannot believe this was 15-16 years ago, I cannot comprehend how it has been so many years yet I remember it like it was yesterday, it brings tears to my eyes. No smartphones, no myspace, facebook, youtube, wikipedia, nada. 1997-September 10, 2001 were just amazing years in my life. Everything changed after 9/11, everything, we all had to grow up real damn quick. I lived on a military base in NJ at the time. Just fuck man.
+metal pillow Yep, I was in 4th grade in 1999, and I was one of those dudes who proudly blasted Nsync and Backstreet boys from my walkman or boombox lol. aqgreed, 1997-2001 best years of my life by so fucking so motherfucking far, i would give anhthing to relive that innocence, that excitement, that carefree life..compared to being an adult...which fucking sucks...everything changed after 9/11.
Dude, DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED!!!!!!!! I remember all the girls in my 1st grade class jammin out to two things, for the boys it was BSB/NSync for the girls it was Britney Spears or Spice Girls. Man if you didnt have one of their CDs you werent in considered not one of us. I remember the days of battling my friends with our Pokemon. Christmas morning and I get my first gameboy color (lime green) and Pokemon Yellow version. That started a love affair with pokemon games that continues for me to this day, even though im 23. I was also a huge Digimon fan, so much so that I wore gloves to school like they did on the show, needless to say people thought I was weird but I was so obsessed I didnt care. I was sort of a tomboy back then everything from Power Rangers to pokemon/digimon, Ninja Turtles, Action figures, Star Wars I was into. But I was also a huge fan of girl stuff like sailor moon and the Spice Girls (I made it abundantly clear to my friends that whenever we would role play I was always scary spice). Yea technology sucked back then but it didnt matter you know why? Because between music and television we had more than enough to keep ourselves entertained, my house didnt even have cable and television was stil god back then, thanks mainly in part to Kids WB and ABC One Saturday Morning, Disney was the shit....I mean THE SHIT in the 90, hell even politics were less insane back the (excluding the lewinsky scandal). Now this was just in America obviously Rwandans,Eastern Europeans and the British Royal family dont look back on the 90s with such fondness. Despite that times were still good on this side of the atlantic, hell we even had an economic surplus. But then Bush got elected, 9/11 happened and starting in the late 2000s the quality of music and television just went downhill. See man you almost got me on the verge of tears. I mean dont get me wrong I love the high quality tech we have now but I cant help but feel all this immense progress came at a great cost. It not just our childhood, everyone longs for the days of their youth to a certain extent but it was the world we live in that made our childhood great. The 90s wasnt just the last decade of the 20th century/2nd millenium but it truly was the last GREAT decade. Ok im done
Ahhh born 90 also!! Can't believe we're 25 now! Ya those were days, I listened to bsb nsync Britney every day and avril too!! I think that was the cutoff of good pop music, now it's taken a turn and it's never going back to what it once was. High 5 to the 90s 200s crowd!
I remember FINALLY getting cable as a kid, and my mom blasting this on the TV the next morning ❤️. Back when MTV actually played music lol. Take me back to the 90s/ early 2000s 💔
dna world tour was epic. it wasn’t necessarily nostalgic for me (i’m 12), but i swear it was one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. never thought i’d be screaming the lyrics to “get down” at midnight before school! i was pretty much a zombie the next day (i had a test due so i had to go to school), but i wouldn’t have it any other way. they’ve still got it goin on! edit: when i tell you kevin has not aged at all-

Never forget the true epitome of boy bands. So good that even boys liked it as much as girls. I still love the Star Wars element such as the droid dancers and laser fire. Yet the modern dance and characterization of the band members still holds good to today as far as I'm concerned.
I saw this video once when i was 5. The only thing I remembered from it was the robot's heads spinning at about 2:35. I'm glad to have found it. It's a reminder of better times that i could sorely use these days.
I feel blessed to be a kid during the 90s. So lucky I got to experience the world before the internet happened, enjoyed 90s music of the BSB, Nsync, Spice Girls, etc. My sister and I Only ever owned 3 albums together and one of them was Millennium. I’m now 31 and I can definitely say that no other boy band ever came close to BSB except Nsync but even then they never attained BSBs worldwide popularit and the fact that they’re still together and still making music is amazing.
It’s 2023 this song is not getting old I never get tired to play even for how many years or decade will passed such a great masterpiece during my childhood days ❤
I wonder what the girl who played Summer from Napoleon Dynamite look likes now because God forbid she is a lot older now because Napoleon Dynamite was filmed in 2003 and the story is from 2002.
I miss the 90s too, although I lost both my parents, but my daughter was born in 1995. And I STILL LOVE THE Backstreet Boys and STILL listen to them as does my daughter
I remember rewinding the cassette tape just to hear a song again or repeat it. Now, you just have to click on the screen to listen to it or watch it again. Old but gold. BSB forever!
The pencil was the fix it tool when the cassette would jam and you had to wind it by hand to make sure the tape went in straight I was so happy when CDs started coming out and they had portable CD players my goodness the good old times 😆
Its not just the music, choreography, filmography that is amazing... but the message behind it is what make this song so special and meaningful. Overall, I think this is far the most memorable music I have ever listened to. I also love other BSB songs (I want it that way, Show me the meaning of being lonely, Shape of my heart)
This, a song dedicated to fans, was quite unusual back then and still is, in Western music. However, they do it quite often in kpop. I really like these kind of songs, and remember liking this too. It makes you thankful and proud as a fan 😊
Yep. BSB is known to always put out a fan's song. Brian help co-wrote "Larger than Life". 😍💖 BSB have so many fan's song for example, "Permanent Stain" (co-wrote by Nick), "Feels Like Home" (co-wrote by Howie, Nick, and Kevin), "The One" (co-wrote by Brian), "The Perfect Fan" (aka Mother's day song co-wrote by Brian for his mother and brought in his HS choir into the song), "Soldier" (co-wrote by Howie and Nick), "I Want It That Way" (they didn't wrote it but they brought their fans into their MV), "OK", "Bigger", "In A World Like This", "Everyone", "Shape of My Heart", etc...some songs they didn't wrote it but ignite the idea that they wanted a fan's song for their long time fans. Two songs that all 5 BSB members wrote complete by themselves without help were *"The Answers to Our Lives"* and *"Time"* from their Black and Blue album (2000). I see those two songs as an autobiography songs. Very few of the BSB fan's songs like *"Everyone"* (didn't wrote this song but had two longtime writers who work with BSB since the beginning) show subtle hints they were struggling behind the curtains but thanking their fans....this was amidst ponzi scheme started by their creator/manager taking majority of their money it was in the media/magazine/newspaper for a bit and had great fan supporting them from around the globe...before social media. The internet was starting to become a household thing.
im currently downloading songs like this that i know most people seem to enjoy for something to listen to in the car because most of my friends and all the girls i know cant stand my metal hahaha

+Emelina Verdonck 90s song has a weird yet perfect syncing with time. Nowadays whenever any modern music pops up we can say right away that it's from the current times , just by hearing a little. With the 90s music or in this case , the BSBs's music , never feel old. No matter how many times you'll hear their music , it'll always feel it came out just recently. BSBs music never get old. Not only have they become one of the most legendary bands to come after world modernization. But they've also created never aging music as well. And the best part is , that they all pulled this shit at mostly their teens which is an awesome feat at itself.

Went and saw Backstreet last summer and it was the best concert I've ever been to. I cried. My childhood was right in front of me ❤
dna world tour was epic. it wasn’t necessarily nostalgic for me (i’m 12), but i swear it was one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. never thought i’d be screaming the lyrics to “get down” at midnight before school! i was pretty much a zombie the next day (i had a test due so i had to go to school), but i wouldn’t have it any other way. they’ve still got it goin on!
edit: when i tell you kevin has not aged at all-
Same! I watched The Backstreet Boys live at Mumbai, India 2023. Listened and watched them over videos for 2.5 decades, totally Dream come true! ❤
I would love to see them live tbh still on my bucket list
ENVIOUS AF!!
Are they touring again next year?
Never gets old. And that choreography is still awesome after all these years.
I loved the Halo-like graphics and the choreography. This is the funkiest Backstreet Boys song I’ve heard so far.
Backstreet Boys are legendary artist. They will forever be awesome
Would you imagine if Beavis and Butt-Head react to this?
yes they are
Grown man here, 36, and the Backstreet Boys were the shit!!! It was my first concert with my big sister! Good times we don’t talk anymore but this reminds of the love she exposed me to and great music and that music knew no gender.
I remember watching the music video when I was 7 years old and was inspired to become a digital artist.
And here I am today as a pro concept artist.
Love backstreet boys forever.

I may run and hide
When you're screamin' my name, alright
But let me tell you now
There are prices to fame, alright
All of our time spent in flashes of light
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life
Looking at the crowd
And I see your body sway, c'mon
Wishin' I could thank you in a different way, c'mon
'Cause all of your time spent keeps us alive
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life
All of your time spent keeps us alive
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life
Yeah, every time we're down
Yeah, you can make it right
Yeah, and that's what makes you larger than life
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality

The 90s will always be larger than life 💙
Never forget the true epitome of boy bands.

I don't know how I never realised this song was a massive thank you to their fans...
Bro u sooo right mind blown

Yeah, this song is dedicated to all the fans of BSB
I miss this type of music!! Bring it back!!!
Nostalgia hit so hard with this, literally brought tears to my eyes😭
Why don't bands make epic videos like this anymore? Man, looking back, everything in the 90s was just so much...BIGGER.
Small budget bands.
This video is one of the most expensive music videos of all time costing about 2 MIL. Nowadays artists probably can't afford that lol
Kpop has the production value you might be missing nowadays. Even if you can't understand it the visuals are there.
GummyDinosaursify neither am I

Pretty much it. Plus music piracy barely existed back then, a thing that really changed the economy of the music industry.

This video was so futuristic 💥🔥
One of the best coreography in a pop song. Wow
I remember rewinding the cassette tape just to hear a song again or repeat it. Now, you just have to click on the screen to listen to it or watch it again. Old but gold. BSB forever!
Hahaha me too 🤣🤣🤣
The pencil was the fix it tool when the cassette would jam and you had to wind it by hand to make sure the tape went in straight I was so happy when CDs started coming out and they had portable CD players my goodness the good old times 😆
oh the 90's what a beautiful era that was ,when pop artistes can sing dance and put up a real entertaining show in video clips or in stage
@The Absolute Madman why? What did i miss
Its not just the music, choreography, filmography that is amazing... but the message behind it is what make this song so special and meaningful. Overall, I think this is far the most memorable music I have ever listened to. I also love other BSB songs (I want it that way, Show me the meaning of being lonely, Shape of my heart)
On a serious childhood nostalgia trip right now.

Oh, while I was reading the lyrics I immediately thought of a fan-idol relationship!. It's nice to know it was a actually a song dedicated to fans 😊
30 August 2021
Thank you Backstreet Boys for the great energy you put out!
Damn I miss the 90's...I still love these guys, even though I listen to metal and whatnot nowadays.
i am a metal fan as well, but these guys were good...
The thought that scares me most... Will people look back on 1D one day with the same nostalgia as we do the BSB..... Say it won't be so!
