Long before auto tune...Freddie's voice was phenomenal which is why he is was and still is considered the best rock front man. Unmatched talent!

No autotune, no backing tracks , no in-ear monitors, no digital consoles (before 1987), and NO second chances! Just 4 excellent musicians hanging it on the line, doing it live.

The song that the band dedicated did Freddie Mercury was absolutely word for word spot on.. " ONLY YOU!".. only he...... Freddie Mercury, could manage to have the love of a crowd and hold them in the palm of his hands. It was the band and it was Freddie Mercury, too. The musicianship, Freddie Mercury's legendary voice and his stage presence while interacting with the crowd could pull everybody into the musical world Paradise. They did it and Freddy was the front man. Adam does a good job with vocals on the tour but he's nowhere near the caliber of Freddie Mercury vocally or musically.
I do really really enjoying Adam solo work but Freddie Mercury is the one off and one of a kind. Several years after Freddie Mercury's death, an interviewer asking Roger Taylor how Freddie Mercury was how he was on stage.. 😂😂😂 Roger said, " Freddie was really was the Master of his own creation!" Roger was merely speaking about printing Mercury stage charisma and how he could put on a show but not about how he was in his private life which was something kind of the same and yet sometimes more shy. Even on the stage Freddie Mercury always gave out this vibe that he was an incredibly loving generous human being because he would always call his crowd
" lovies" & Queen with a nice respectable band because after every performance they would always head up to the front of the stage and bow unlike all of the other bands.

LEGENDS!!!! QUEEN. they are all legends whether it is Brian May's fast fingers on the guitar and John Deacon pounding on the base as Roger went to town on the drums; OR Freddie playing so effortlessly on that piano and that voice mixed with Roger Taylor's voice sometimes and Brians... WOW!
This right here and this is everything from which Legends are made....good legends!!❤❤❤❤

I love this performance, get chills every time. Its such a loss for the world loosing Freddie too soon. Just imagine what he and Queen could have acomplished if he would have been able to live on. But Queens music lives forever through medias like youtube. Its Amazing how this video makes you feel it was recorded yesterday though it was 39 years ago, its timeless. I have tickets for Queen with Adam Lambert in Copenhagen in july, maybe it’ll be canceld due to the situation right now, if thats so hopefully i can see them another time. Bless you for the nice reaction. 🎹🎼

Great reaction, my man. Loved the happy smile on your face while you watched this song. I would equally love to see you react to the Live Aid concert from '85. As far as I am concerned, it is the best concert ever recorded in history of mankind. I remember watching it on telly all those years ago. There were many famous artists playing that day but Queen stole the show completely🤩

At most concerts the people want to hear the song exactly like the studio version they love. At a Queen concert people would say - How is Freddie going to sing it this time? No matter how he did it, it was freakin amazing!!! Freddie was a genius at making the audience feel that that they and the band were ONE. Like he said "Let's do it!"

I still remember the first time I bought their 1st LP in 70 or 71.
Killer Queen then Sheer Heart Attack. My first year in college and we had so many good bands in the 70s and 80s. I saw them in concert in L.A. at the Paladium on Sunset Strip in the late 70s. Another group that was good live, were The ALLMAN BROTHERS LIVE AT THE FILLMORE EAST. Duane and Greg and Dicky Betts. IT was rated one of the best live album.

Yes, Stone Cold Crazy and Liar from the Rainbow 1974. Then move up to White Queen from Hammersmith-Odeon 1975. Any thing from Montreal ‘81 is good but I would suggest Dragon Attack and the 1-2 punch of We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions! Live Queen is the best! You just can’t go wrong as they purposely did the live versions faster/different otherwise as I believe Brian said “we could just put cardboard cutouts on stage & play our f***ing albums”.

Loved your reaction! You definitely need to react to Under Pressure live. The Montreal version is sung and played great but the Wembley version from 1986 is so dynamic that is the one I would suggest! Freddie has to sing in his low register because he sings Bowie's part while Roger sings most of Freddie's.

Fun-fact you might be interested in:
This concert-show was actually recorded for cinemas as Queen was overbooked, sold out and wanted to share the experience of a live-show with the world. Can you imagine going to a cinema, watching a live-show on the big screen? Awesome! The cinema-crowd was like a stadium-crowd singing and clapping along. Amazing experience!
So the high quality of this recording speaks for itselfs. The sound is avaible in 5.1 surround sound, 7.1 surround sound an even as THX sound. The pictures were filmed with the very first HD-Cams (35mms) avaible at this time, a long time before they were used for cinema-movies in Hollywood, because they were expensive and 99% of the cinema would have not been able to play it, because they don't had the equipment for that back then...!
P.S:: I mean: Look at the quality of the picture! You can see every detail even in bad lights.... compare that with other concert-videos from that time. We are talking from the early 80s..!!!! ;-)

Will you do more Queen please, especially some of the lesser known tracks like Cool Cat, Stealin', Dreamers Ball, One Year of Love, etc. Thanks, excellent review, and you didn't interrupt the song to comment on the beer; that is much appreciated

Dear Lewis... if you would considered another Queen’s song, may I suggested “White Queen”, live at the Odeon (1975), and “You take my breath away”, live at the Hyde Park (1976)???????
And... if you really want to hear Freddie in his baritone tessiture...., you must try “The Golden boy”, with Monserrat Caballe (1988)!!

It takes true professionals to make a song sound like a great jam session - but everything is so together and they all know exactly what each other is about - but to an audience it just sounds like they are having a fun time and it's not rehearsed.

Please react to ''You Take My Breath Away (Live At Hyde Park 1976)'' .The greatest love song that was ever written and one of the most underrated Queen songs ever, short emotional, simply, intimate, enchanting, captivating ... You will see a different side of his performance, the soft, delicate Freddie from the 70s...

Was happy to hear you say that many performers rely on technology now as I sound old when I say it! I grew up in the 70's/80's and listened to my parents 60's records, when bands etc relied on their craft - singers could sing and bands had to be able to play actual instruments as there could be no performance otherwise; there was nothing to hide behind, especially live. Enjoyed your video & will now subscribe. Love from London UK!

The best that ever lived in IMO.... the man was a musical genius with a talent which canNOT be duplicated. Freddie died much much too soon.... can you all imagine the music he/they would have put out!? They already have more hits and most don’t realize.

More Queen please :D There are too many Great songs from Queen but I would suggest Queen White Queen Live at the Odeon in Hammersmith 1974 (because somebody to love and white queen are mostly the things to start with if you go down the road of Queen) also a Side note: your camera focuses on your background sometimes and that hurts my eyes

    Dear Lewis, your totally right
Queen is outstanding..., a critic said once: no matter if it’s about metal, progressive rock, pop, glam rock, hard rock, rhythm 'n blues, funk and disco, country, gospel and soul, and even music-hall and ragtime....., or any music styles... Queen could create and sing anything in a Queen’s style. They created their own style, You can listen some harmonies... Brian’s guitar..,, Roger’s drums..., and you know it’s Queen singing ... with the incomparable Freddie’s voice..!!!
