Hi Love this route. I've gotten TS 2016 for my son, to help develop his concentration, and I've ended up playing it and enjoying it. I've got the sheerness to Sittingbourne add on as its my local line. Keep up the good work.
Have just purchased this loco and route i find your video very helpful in getting up and running,i have only been into TRAIN SIMULATOR for 2 months allthough i have used the older microsoft train sim for many years. Your guides double the enjoyment and i appreciate the hard work you put into them ,they really are superb. The MOORGATE TO FINSBURY PARK route is one which i used daily for several years at the time the 313 and the route was changed over to B R.,I need to purchase some of the additional routes before i can use your route, look forward to doing so .
Thanks for an informative, nicely presented and entertaining video. Looking forward to watching many more. I have been playing TS for two years now but I'm still learning. By the way, I wonder if anyone else has noticed that at times you sound incredibly like Jack Dee!
Carl Dove Thank you! :) There are many more videos planned. I'm just trying to help people drive more realistically without needing to use the HUD on their favourite routes. Haha, no one has pointed that out before! That's funny :p
Well the the HS1 line can be done but will be done in parts for example adding the HS1 line you will have to add the rest of the southeastern line towards moorgate and Follestone areas like that once that is done we can do the Eurostar line to Paris as 1st then Brussels and all of that but the route will have to be split into 4 parts HS1 part once at Ashford part 2 leading out into Calais part 3 line towards Brussels Part 4 the last 50 miles It might be licenses for the logo but I dont think so as SNCF is in train sim now but we never know.
As a native of Faversham, it's interesting seeing the correct buildings, but wrong buildings. For instance, the church on the left at 5:14 is correct in that there's a church there - it is just not a square towered one in real life.... When you look at how much effort went into the old steam train water tower at 5:43 on the right, it's bizarre how wrong the buildings are on the right after that, until you then reach 8:20 and The Mount hospital comes into view on the left between the trees, totally correct but with Wyards Printing Works opposite that being totally missing. Still overall, I'm amazed they got as much correct as they did.
HS1 does go all the way to the Channel Tunnel, but not via Faversham. Eurostars can run all the way from St Pancras, via Ebbsfleet and Ashford, to the tunnel on a high-speed line. I live near Ashford so I do know what I'm talking about!!!
Dave Hutton I know it doesn't go via Faversham. I don't live so far from Ashford and have taken HS1 a couple of times from there into London. The main route goes from the Channel Tunnel, past Ashford on a flyover (though trains can obviously travel into Ashford) and then on to Ebbsfleet and St Pancras. I don't believe I said that HS1 goes via Faversham? I know it doesn't.
One thing that annoys me with Train Sim. You get a regular banging which I guess is meant to represent the train passing over track joints. The overwhelming majority of track in the UK, certainly on the main lines, is CWR, so you shouldn't hear anything unless you go over points. The sounds may add a little interest, but they're not very realistic...
I would recommend it yes. Although I do feel the high speed section is a bit too short, it's still quite fun to drive and it's great to experience the different power and signalling systems.
i have the train sim 2015 london to faversham return trip and having problem after stop 11 need a video on the complete route if you could help me i got no problems on this run till getting to stop 11 and swapping end for return trip
Elliott Chandler Made by the french for multi - train single tracks shows the speed you should be going to avoid conflict 000 means stop at next sign Rouge means stop at once 225 is 140 mph
Would anyone know if the route CAMBRIAN COAST AS used on microsoft train sim is available for TRAIN SIMULATOR it really is an interesting area, having spent two recent holidays up there.
HyperVenomProduction That is the DSD (Driver Safety Device).. in real life it's a foot pedal which the driver has to keep his foot on. If the power handle hasn't been moved for a certain amount of time, the alarm goes off and the driver then has to lift up his foot and then put it back down again to reset the alarm. It's to ensure that the driver is alive and well!
Every time I drive this train its like an emergency brake sets and an annoying siren like sound keeps going off and I can't seem to get the tran to move again. Can you help me
The DSD and AWS are different. The AWS related to the signals, whereas the DSD alarm is related to making sure the driver is awake and alive. If you haven't touched a control after a certain amount of time then the DSD alarm will sound which I believe you reset with Q or Numpad Enter. If you miss it and the emergency brakes are applied, you need to reset it and move the power handle to neutral, then full emergency, then back towards neutral to reset the alarm.
on my reurn that was done in this video ididnt have to shunt in my mission on my faversham back to london st pancreas we must not have the same one mine have been from 2012 from steam so its been upgraded every year that steam has put out the new train sim could you provide a link to that scenery color addition
Ahhh, I used a scenario which is available from Armstrong Powerhouse. If you visit www.armstrongpowerhouse.com you will find they sell scenario packs and sound packs for Train Simulator. This scenario comes with the London to Favesham modern day scenario pack which is available for £4.99.
ok thats why they are differnt going to buy that line faversham to london from armstrong at tax time just bought the night and station upgrade going to check them out. when you drop your hud down using how to use your power lever and braking when not shown found from another gent using f3 will make the hud small and f4 will show with nothing on screen like in your videos how do you control your train?
Awesome. It's the same route, it just gives you more journeys to drive on the London to Faversham route. The lighting enhancement pack from them is awesome, it makes your routes look so much better! All of my videos have been made using that. I use the keyboard to drive the train. Press 'W' to move the reversing handle forward, press 'S' to move the handle backwards. On trains with a single power handle, press 'A' to release the brakes and apply power. Press 'D' to reduce power and apply brakes. A good way to remember that is A for accelerate and D for decelerate. On trains with a separate throttle and brake, press 'A' to increase power, press 'D' to decrease power, Press the ' key to apply the brakes and press the ; key to release the brakes. 'H' operates the headlights, 'Q' resets the AWS and alerter. 'V' operates the wipers. 'T' opens the doors at stations. I think that's the basic controls covered.
Thanks! :) I believe it is because the high speed section operates under European rules due to it being connected to Europe through the Channel Tunnel. Hence it uses a European signalling system, and as the rest of Europe use km/h the high speed line also uses it.
FinestInstinct Thank you! :) This PC is three years old now, it's getting an upgrade next year. I currently have an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2ghz, 8Gb DDR3 RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6970 graphics card.
PTGRail It may be a bit dated but still a good system overall. I'm getting mine soon and I want no lag which is why I asked. You seem to get pretty good frames which is cool. Thank you for the reply. You deserve subs for your content. Happy Holidays! Liked + Subscribed
great commentary many thanks. You explained the workings of the class 395 well.

I’m glad this video was able to help you, and hope you are enjoying Train Simulator! I also used to play MSTS a few years ago.
yeh. the HS.1 track ride is amazing mateys..140 odd mph, unbelievable indeed my friend..Excellent one. :)
Thanks for an informative, nicely presented and entertaining video. Looking forward to watching many more. I have been playing TS for two years now but I'm still learning. By the way, I wonder if anyone else has noticed that at times you sound incredibly like Jack Dee!

At present they're using the Javelins on the local lines through Ashford to Canterbury, Dover and Ramsgate.
I've said this many times, and I'll say it again. GREAT VID!!!!
TSguy0100 And once again, many thanks TSguy :)
I think they should make HS1 all the way down to the Chunnel...
Nexis4Jersey I agree. They should at least do it down to Ashford so we've got a bit more of a high speed run!
Apparently There is a known problem with the TS Engine once you reach 150Miles of Track so that is why DTG haven't done any HST.
Well the the HS1 line can be done but will be done in parts
for example adding the HS1 line you will have to add the rest of the southeastern line towards moorgate and Follestone areas like that once that is done we can do the Eurostar line to Paris as 1st then Brussels and all of that but the route will have to be split into 4 parts

MaXtreme TrainsLP he was talking about the route length
Hell yeah nothing like watching my commute on a video game.

Thanks for the info there, it was really interesting! I'm going to go and observe what I can on Google maps :)
Fantastic video, you commentate this so well and give great advise 👍
great video , some lights in the tunnel would have been nice though,,,,,,,,,, Thanks for doing the video
who else is watching this in preparation for the southeastern line on TSW 2?
+ptgrail Go from London to faversham in any train that you have except 395
Jacob O'malley There are no other suitable trains for the journey unfortunately so it has to be done in a Class 395.
Are you on about to Charing cross to Faversham?
HS1 does go all the way to the Channel Tunnel, but not via Faversham. Eurostars can run all the way from St Pancras, via Ebbsfleet and Ashford, to the tunnel on a high-speed line. I live near Ashford so I do know what I'm talking about!!!

Dave Hutton You confused yourself the HS1 goes via Medway Towns then goes towards Folkstone then chanel tunel
For info, teynham station is pronounced "tennum" :-)
Thank you Ian, I'm often unsure how to pronounce place names in these videos. I will remember that for the future :)
Will you be doing under ground simulator?

Would you recommend this route for a TS2015 player?
I would recommend it yes. Although I do feel the high speed section is a bit too short, it's still quite fun to drive and it's great to experience the different power and signalling systems.
i have the train sim 2015 london to faversham return trip and having problem after stop 11 need a video on the complete route if you could help me

Thanks, but too dark to see anything. Lights?
Is it quite easy to install the AP Lighting add-on into TS2016? I haven't got any experience of installing 3rd party add-ons yet.
+Nunsweepit421 It's very easy. It's just a simple download and then using the installer. Takes all of two minutes :)
Great video
How do I get this route
Iron Maiden it's on steam
I don't get the high-speed signaling system
Elliott Chandler Made by the french for multi - train single tracks shows the speed you should be going to avoid conflict 000 means stop at next sign Rouge means stop at once 225 is 140 mph
31 were built but only 29 were transported due to reasons i don't know
2:59 km\h speed
Would anyone know if the route CAMBRIAN COAST AS used on microsoft train sim is available for TRAIN SIMULATOR it really is an interesting area, having spent two recent holidays up there.
I wish it was, but it’s not currently available for Train Simulator.
What is that beeping noise the repeats itself that you need to press the AWS to get rid of (not the AWS on the ground)

+Carl Headley Have you been resetting the DSD when it sounds?
I have reset the AWS when it sounds

Ok will do thanks
Did you forget to use the DRA button or is it not necessary to use it?
ankistern The DRA is only necessary if you have had adverse signals I believe.
on my reurn that was done in this video ididnt have to shunt in my mission on my faversham back to london st pancreas we must not have the same one mine have been from 2012 from steam so its been upgraded every year that steam has put out the new train sim could you provide a link to that scenery color addition

PTGRail can you put your grahic setting for your train sim like FXAA+ or whatever it is i have 1 gh graphic card and 16 gh extra memory
thks for your help and looking foward for more of your videos
Does this route include the Chunnel?
Dominic Ureño Unfortunately not, I wish it did!
no
Another great Route Learning episode. Thumbs up!
Do you know why the speed in high speed section is mesured in km/h?
Thanks! :)
I believe it is because the high speed section operates under European rules due to it being connected to Europe through the Channel Tunnel. Hence it uses a European signalling system, and as the rest of Europe use km/h the high speed line also uses it.
PTGRail Wow, nicely done. Very entertaining to watch. May I ask what your PC specs are?
FinestInstinct Thank you! :) This PC is three years old now, it's getting an upgrade next year. I currently have an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T 3.2ghz, 8Gb DDR3 RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6970 graphics card.

FinestInstinct I meant you deserve MORE subs lol. Typo.
Have you ever done a face reveal? If not can you please?
I haven't as I've never seen the need to? I think people would mostly rather see trains than my mug lol :p
+PTGRail I saw your face on Steam. You look fabulous
Train Gamer02 Haha, thanks XD That'sone place my face is revealed I suppose :p
pity it is so dark.
