My FAVORITE iteration of the Legendary Jazz Messengers. The great Wayne Shorter, Lee Morgan, Jymie Merit, Bobby Timmons tickling the keys and the indomitable Arthur Blakey in the Kitchen. A national treasure!!!!!
No drummer in the last 60 years.....or maybe in history....could drive a small group like Buhaina(Mr.Blakey)His records will always sound fresh, never dated. All of us veteran jazz lovers are(or should be) very grateful for UA-cam, which has become one of the only ways to pass this incredible treasure of music to future generations,!
I've listened to this album lots of times - mainly because of the title track. But today this one just struck me... and it's been playing on repeat for some time now!

I see they switch from a straight ahead 4/4 to a syncopated meter which I can't quite pinpoint my finger at...somebody please help me!!! Listen up people! Sorry, but this tune is written by Bobby Timmons, not Shorter
Morgan the best
The "bad boy" of jazz in his time....he loved letting out those dirty sounds in the horn...... got killed by a jealous woman..... what a life.....

BOBBY TIMMONS COMPOSED THIS
HA HA HA this is Sir WALTHER here
If you really want to learn jazz, the best thing you can do is through away all your music and learn the tune by ear.
Someone can help me find a music sheet?

Not Lee Morgan at his best. Tonality leaves something to be desired: rather shaky!
