They should've made a prequel. How Jake the Muss became Jake the Muss. Full childhood and adolescence.
Yes, I never knew this movie existed and I live once were warriors
@TaraTiaraBell I'm sorry you had to go through that. I imagine if they did make that prequel it would be hard to watch as was Once Were Warriors.
No they shouldn't have made any of these films they were shit
I agree. The main question I always ask when watching this film and the first movie was why was Jake so angry? Why is he so hotheaded?
Interesting idea. It would work.
7 years after I watched Once were warriors and I’ve only just watched this now in 2024 that’s crazy. Definitely one of the best movie series🙌🏽💯
Same here bro
Same
Same here lol
Lol crack up
That's me too. Watching it now in 2024
Wow. I'm German and "once were Warriors" is in my personal top 10 if it comes to movies. Now all of a sudden this sequel pops up in my UA-cam recommendation. I had no idea.
Same... I didn't know there was a second movie
These movies are so accurate it's crazy.
This was my childhood growing up in NZ. The scary gang members, the drunk parties, the absent mother that "doesn't feed her fuckn kids", poor, hungry, afraid, and a father in and out of prison for violent crimes who happens to look just like Jake the Muss.
I met the author Alan Duff once - he was working in the prison my dad was incarcerated in.
Of course you were lol
Hope you are oke
What culture u ?
This was my childhood too. Only I wasn't NZ. and I'm a little white girl all by myself with no brothers and sisters to go through them violent nights with.... imagine the headcase I became...
God bless
And somehow it's all whitey's fault, right?
*door knocks
Jake: "if that's some romeo, you tell him jake the muss is here"
😂😂 best line in the whole movie.
almost as good as "cook the man some fkn eggs!"
😂
Jake the snake!
I started crying at the end, I'm not going lie its was sad ,He told his son im not going to lose you, I've had enough.

Are you from the future?
April 9th lol I think that’s what he meant lol

@no_soy_rubio you know its American when you 7/13/23 😂😂😂
Watching it 7/17/2024
I always felt sorry for Jake he was just a broken man who broke his family before realising he could change
Just a normal bloke
He's a lovable chap @@OgglyGoogly
Product of his environment or forced to live a western way of life... Like the aboriginal ppl the native American Indian ppl etc etc.... Jakes just as much a victim in both films... Like Beth said a slave to the drink, to your fists, and to yourself...
Rena Owen should have one That Oscar and all the other awards she deserves she made that movie
Rena deserved an award for her role as Beth
She’s a great actress, she also plays Haveena on The Orville series

I seen once we're warriors back in 95 and only found out there was a sequel 2day(29,9,2023) when I tried to find out if the 1st was on UA-cam so you can imagine how buzzin I am now I came across this, brilliant film, not quite as good as the 1st but it ties up nicely with the 1st and completes the story and what happened with the characters, even if it is 28yrs later 😂😂😂
Never watched the first and can't, it's all too real. This I can even tho my eyes can't focus properly thru the tears, heartbreak and memories...

Thanks for the upload bro.
Ive seen Once Were Warriors countless times as a kid. Cried every time...
I remember finding out there was a #2 years later and couldnt find it to watch..
I see a video on facebook today of New Zealanders doing the Haka and made me think of the film, so i searched it up.
And you came through.
God bless ❤
Amazing film and a great way to bring the story to a close. My whole life, i was told that once were warriors, was a great film. Nothing about the sequel or jakes redemption arc throughout. Or even the perpetuality of violent cycles reoccurring throughout peoples lives. The whole film being about moving through trauma and regret, really drove home and delivered a brilliantly executed duology. The editing was rough at times for both films. Especially the netflix version of once were warriors. A few cuts in the last half hour brought me out of the film, but otherwise, both films were excellent. Thank you for uploading this film.
Classic n.z film, true life story for some of us
Born and bred kiwi, Duffy heroes, Rena Owen and temuera Morrison, cliff Curtis an the whole crew, great film, God bless 🙏 love n light 🥳🎉🎉
JUST WATCHED THE FIRST 1 AFTER 30YRS. OMG BRILLIANT, STR8 AFTER WATCHING THIS NOW. THANK U FOR UPLOADING THIS. 1ST WILL B MY TOP3 MOVIES OF ALL TIMR, SO MUCH PASSION, EMOTIONAL. ❤❤❤❤
I loved Once Were Warriors and back in the day you could only get it in VHS Video. Jeez I used to play it all the time. It was my favourite film. I found out there was a sequel a while after buying the video. But it was so hard to track down. Eventually I found it on Amazon and bought it. Again in VHS form. In my opinion it is completely different from the first film -photography, costumes etc. But in an interview with the director he explained that he wanted it like that.. No designer leather clothes etc and wanted the story to reflect on how low Jake the muss had gone, but then changed his ways for his children. His wife had made a new life and was happy, but then one day Jake knocked her door. There is a very sad part in it which I will leave for you to watch. It is completely different from the first film but still very enjoyable.
I’m 59 this year but I can’t remember when the first and second films films were released on VHS. I still love both films and I am so glad they were made. Got to find them on DVD now. Stay blessed everyone ❤
Never knew there was a sequel thank you so much for uploading!!!
Yessss!!!! Thank youuuuuu for uploading this! Hearing about this movie for the first time, but loving it! The actors are great! We need to find these kind of movies and rewatch them all!
Jake the Muss chasing that boar is just the funniest 😂😂😂
The acting in this is phenomenal
20 plus years later, what has changed here in NZ? Its actually gotten worse in some respects... More firearms and methamphetamine now. Recipe for social carnage. This aint necessarily an indictment upon maoridom, its an indictment on the curse of being poor and a member of the underclass.
Exactly. OWW could have been happening in any poor suburb in any city in the world.
Is the meth good and how much is it for a gram ?
I'm a kiwi to bro, see alot of mates go down to this shit and meth.
110% nothing’s changed part from it being a modern day era
Meth is a horrible drug.
Grace looking down from heaven with a smile
for me the best part is in this movie you start to feel sorry for Jake and then towards the end you love him...Morrison is one of best actors of my time....this movie is superb and typical of the best that comes from nz or Australia...except in Australia we don't like happy endings
I liked Dooly better when he wasn’t the leader of an angry gang 😂😂
Is there anyone Jake has not wasted 🤣🤣🤣
My heart goes to those with anger issues please find a hobby or talk to someone it’s a rough world but you don’t wanna live with anger or else your gonna be in metal handcuffs and be put with other people with anger issues look after yourself guys and put down the bottle and drugs and look after yourself and family
It’s hard at times but aging certainly helps
I love it when a father helps his son 😢
This is one greatest sequels ever made
I got to meet Julian Arahanga,Temuera Morrison and Rena Owen during the filming of this movie. I am an extra part of this movie and was paid $75,000 just to play out an extra silent part in this movie. Julian is wonderful, Tem is brilliant and Rena is beautiful. I even got to meet Clint Eruera who was on the TV series Jackson's Wharf and the late Nancy Brunning(Shortland Street's Nurse Jaki Manu). It was a huge honourable pleasurable privilege to meet these brilliant actors. I even got Tem's photo autograph signed personally in person by Tem Morrison himself.
Temuera Morrison is the nephew of the late Sir Howard Morrison and the cousin of Scott "Scotty" Morrison(Stacey Morrison's husband) and Howard "Howie" Morrison jnr. I went to every single filming location for this movie with my late biological father who got me this extra silent part in the movie but instead of me getting the $75,000 paid to me my late idiotic biological father took the money for himself along with my bank cash flow eftpos ATM 🏧 card with my WINZ benefit payments on it every week.
Sounds like your the dummy, not your bio father 😂😂😂
Saw once were warriors dozens of times in the 90s. Never knew about the sequel.
U can see tho Jake has come a long way can see with new friends and job changed his perspective on life and how much he cares for his kids and will go through anything just to protect them and fight to the death
I guess, he wasn’t a good father and husband to his kids and wife. In the first movie.
Really? Tell us more, Mr. Science.
@DinoTechTurboCharge you need to watch once were warriors.
I waited for so long to make another part to once we're warriors thanks for uploading this will be another classic to the first.
Glad you enjoyed it
That box of beer is New Zealand to the core. This film isn't as powerful as the original, yet it isn't incredibly poor either. Somewhere in the middle for me. Thank You for the upload!
This movie dose a great job of developing the characters and progressing the story line.

I was just scrolling through movies selection and found this movie. If you have ever watched "We Once were Warriors" trust me it is BRUTAL!! I'm a Retired ED Nurse and have seen a lot, and yet I only watched this movie once. I've just started this movie but if it's anything like the first I'm sure I won't be able to make it through the whole movie. THIS MOVIE HAS LOTS OF TRIGGERS, VIOLENCE AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD CHILDREN WATCH IT!!
So many children live once were warriors it's a reality that alot of people are not made aware of. So it doesn't matter if you think childern should not watch that movie they don't have to they live it 🙏💔

I LOVE the Maories Here in Québec,Canada we have the Mohawks to secure our Land :)
Very inspiring film, so sad to know this was how life was back in the days. ♥️
It’s still like this for us Natives even in Aus sadly nothing much has changed
Is there a big Maori population in Australia or do you mean the Aboriginal community? It's such a shame these first nation communities suffer so much. Oz and NZ are such beautiful, peaceful , wealthy countries with great infrastructure and so many opportunities. But it's the same with the Native Americans. When one culture sees how successful another culture has made their land it must feel like the carpet has been pulled from underneath their feet. There are many many many different native cultures dotted all around Russia, Mongolia, China, South America but they are all told to shut up. There's no time or money to elevate them, listen to them or even recognise them. It's a nightmare the more you invest time, energy, respect, everything to help the indigenous peoples of the West; Oz, NZ, America, Canada etc etc the more the natives will be aware of the huge gap between them. The more resentment they couldn't do it for themselves. In Europe the many different cultures get on it with it. Too many wars.
