I don't think I've heard this one before. Amazing. This is not the original Moranbong Band. The lineup has changed a lot. But this is a typical Moranbong Band piece. Notice how it begins a capella. Then Hong Su Kyong's violin comes in to embellish high notes. She's very good but doesn't have the passion and depth of Seonu Hyang Hui. On the bridge they work in a few bars of the "Arirang". During the last part, the Angel Choir maintains 4/4 time while in the background, the drums and bass guitar are doing 8ths. Very clever. The harmony is just incredible. However, I did not hear Pak Mi Kyeong's high soprano. That's sorely missed.

Also Ri Hui-kyong enters (before the violin) at 1:28 with a very soft organ style melody, Almost as if Kim Il-sung himself would have sat down at a church organ improvising a prelude.

On KCNA and Rodong Sinmun. Then the group slowly fell apart and was eventually disbanded. There's talk of starting another Moranbong Band but I highly doubt it will be anywhere near the quality of the original. They were magic. Once in a thousand years...
you can tell from their existance and songs they sing they are a well organized sociaty,,,Jsut the way they,,,,,,is amazing.,...( a joy to watch them to perform)..!!!!!!!!!!!
