Great video. I would recommend taking computer science as major for students who are planning to do IT related courses. There are plenty of vacancies in programming roles, if you have a bit of experience in any programming language, you could easily grab a job and thus a work permit. Then you can do part time study in any interested field like AI. Data science and cyber security are good courses but getting a job is not that easy compared to other roles.
I am doing MSc. Computer Science and my course is going to end in Jan 2023. I have been applying for jobs since last semester and still i haven't got any interviews. Everyone prefer experience of atleast 4 years or work permit.
I am following your channel since 2019 I would like to share my thoughts here. I hope it is ok. Out of 100 IT jobs in the UK, 90 jobs doesn't have sponsorship options at the moment. The rest 10 is hard to get as the companies will have high expectations and skills needed. There are lots of startups growing in the UK and people are not ready to work with them bcoz of the job security. Especially for IT jobs, if you get a sponsorship, keep in mind that you may have to stay with them for the next 5 years to apply for ILR. Finding another job with sponsorship would be not that easy. Companies are now moving to hybrid roles and you are forced to travel to the office or stay close to the office which will be an additional expense. It is not that easy to relocate like from Kerala to Bangalore here in the UK if you are planning to move. Think twice before coming to the UK. The cost of living, lack of accommodation, lack of part time jobs will make your life difficult if you are coming as a student.
