I think the devs listen because Eclipse has a good track record with his game improvement advice and can present logical arguments in an incredibly convincing manner. The devs should still listen to the older members of the community though.

This just proves how little the dev team cares about the majority of their playerbase, only listening to big creators. The classic dogshit agamatsu suggestion gets instantly added when we begged for MONTHS to get something we actually want like the removal of chime skulls and then finally a YTber like eclipse comes along and they instantly listen.
Remember that Eclipse is the same guy who went into chime with a pve build that was already barely surviving ferryman attacks and started complaining about it. It boggles my mind to think that they could listen to him of all people over the entire community

Bout time deepwoken "players" put the fries in the bag. The devs dont listen to yall because you sit around, goon in the discord, be cringe asf and create drama every other day. They probably dont think too highly of you all. When they get a perspective from someone the least bit civilized, thats when they decide its not just the community being annoying but something that could hurt the games growth.
It's basically the main problem Rogue lineage had: 1. Old players of the game would complain about the game dying while hunting down new players that made the mistake of taking one step out of the spawn point -> 2. Those new players spread word of mouth about how the game is too hard because of how hostile players are before leaving -> 3. Player numbers get low to where there's a change to help people who start out or patch out a glitch/bug old players take advantage of -> 4. Old players get mad about change and take out their anger on new players solely on the belief that they'll ruin the games lifespan in the future -> 5. The game enters a state where every new player is left to fend for themselves or form groups to survive -> 6. Those new players slowly become experienced as months go by while the old players spend less time or stop playing entirely to move on to other hardcore games -> cycle leads back to step 1
@@eggguy20 rogue lineage can be excused because it was built to be shambles in a way, no amount on nerfs can stop infinite ragdolls and 100-0s, the game would have to be fundamentally changed.
Deepwoken had a promise however where even though the game would be hard, it wouldn't take much for a new player to stand against the old, hence the promise of even a power 20 being able to defeat a power 60. Of course as with any game people just minmax and say no thank you.

@@nicknick_nick dude u don’t even know how Deepwoken works any power gap can be bridged with skill but there still needa be a fundamental baseline. Again with u not undertsanding deepwoken mechanics. Deepwoken levels give no direct stat buffs a power 20 can easily lose to a power 11 if he gets out skilled (the prog system was reworked and power 20 was made max a long time ago) but also the direct stat buffs one gains from talents and stat investments are tiny. Minmaxing is a major part of the game, without understanding how talents work lvl and stats don’t matter at all. It’s more about game knowledge and knowing how to utilize things. Also Deepwoken is difficult, and to creat a min maxed build that makes the game easy, one has to first complete almost difficult every part of the game on a weak charachter. Is it rlly an issue that a guy has a boss cheese build that required beating the boss normally first in order to finish the build?
eclipse speaks for all up and coming/new players, as all of you content creators will basically play the game nearly no matter what. eclipse bring a better perspective because he's a new player, so his issues are the same that someone new would face when tryna play the game fresh off. you bring the perspective of someone who plays a lot and will continue to do so, so you're struggles or suggestions will come from a place of "from all my time playing this is what we need now", whereas his is more of a "in the short time ive played here is exactly what issues ive found which could potentially stop me from continuing to play". so eclipse's opinion is arguably more valuable as his opinions are probably shared with by new deepwoken players, meaning fixing these things will help it grow significantly. at the end of the day, you and people like you are already players, and doing what you need won't help the game grow directly as your issues come from a place of experience and needing quality of life due to these experiences, whereas eclipses will come from a place of inexperience and him needing certain things to happen because they are deterrents to new players from becoming players like yourself.
TL/DR: community members are already players meaning their opinion wont grow the game as much, eclipse is new meaning his issues are faced by new players, and overcoming said issues will help with the game growing and retaining new players.

Exactly. The new players that are still feeling out the game out and considering if they want to continue playing should definitely be prioritized over the people who already love and play the game a lot. Catering updates to new players will end up bringing more players and keep existing ones.

the devs will listen to a guy who has been playing the game for a month but not to the dedicated players in the suggestion channel with possibly thousands of hours. i think nepotism is a big problem in deep, where mainly suggestions from youtubers get accepted, like when was the last time you remember a suggestion from the suggestion channel being accepted into the game
To be honest some suggestions should come from newer players
For example if youve played Deepwoken for thousands of hours you forget how confusing it is to be voidwalked for the first time and probabaly think that they killed you for no reason

New players are important to any game. I still think the devs should listen to experienced people, but they should listen the same amount to new players.

Say what you want, but I've enjoyed Eclipse's content for years. I only joined the Deepwoken community because of his video, and I'm so glad I did. I would've never found such a great game had it been for his help. Talk smack all you want, but I am glad that Eclipse can make the developers listen in some ways...

Should be grateful instead of pointing the frustration towards eclipse. The point of frustration we really should be handling at are the dev teams ignoring suggestion channel. While it could also be that the devs were paying attention to the suggestion channel but undecisive on whether the changes would bring a real positive change, it might possibly be that eclipse became the "final trigger" for the devs to implement the changes. Atleast in my schizo head

You forgot to say the fact that he also talks about what he likes about the game I don’t know if you always skip to the second half of his videos or something. But he usually talks about what’s good and what’s bad. I think the reason why the devs listen to eclipse is because it’s probably more simple and easy to receive information from one informative video.

I don't think Eclipse's word is magic or will bring change to a game instantly, I think that Deepwoken devs, (and a decent amount of other devs), aren't constantly searching for opinions from the playerbase. Which is an issue of itself, but they are really busy man. They have to do weekly updates AND conquest at the same time. They also aren't gonna look constantly at smaller channels, as larger channels appear more often if they were to look up an issue related to their game. Its just the algorithm. Also, Agamatsu is in direct contact with devs, thats why they listen to him. He's had good ideas in the past as well. They probably listen to Eclipse because he is decent at game impressions, (not full reviews as he doesn't finish most games ), and provides constructive advice. He is also a big UA-camr and will come up more often than DanVR or other small channels (as is mentioned earlier).

That is not "The Eclipse Effect. This happens with every dev to every youtuber.
They really don't care about the swarm of suggestions because its usually sank in a lot of bad ideas and shitpost - but when a UA-camr make a formulated version of it, and the video goes viral or the UA-camr is popular, then obviously the Devs are gonna see the video, click on it since its their game on the title, and listen to it.
For example, Jujutsu Shenanigans is on a streak of updates trying to fix its flaws that have been there since the beginning, not bcuz the community told the dev to do so, but because a UA-camr made a video about them, and now Tzee been TRYING to lock in for the past few weeks as soon as that video blew up.
The thing about Eclipse is that he knows he isn't the only one complaining about issues in a game and he acknowledes the opinion of the community because again, he knows he isn't the only one complaining and wanting things to change. Like lowkey don't taking shots at Eclipse for just voiceing his opinion and put that anger toward the devs.

Since it just came out and people might just be quick complain, and there are always other players that want the game to be hard as possible so they counteract the suggestion with their own.

I honestly hate eclipse, with all his suggestions to make deepwoken a more beginner friendly game with a lot of quality of life updates have made it feel too easy, qol updates are nice but it’s gone too far to the point where deepwoken doesn’t even feel like a hardcore game anymore because everything is just handed to you.
