- Hey party people thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share our journey of house hunting with you!! We toured two houses this past weekend and I take you along! We are extremely selective when we choose to actually go view a house in person. We can normally determine that we don't like it simply from it's photos. This one hit us differently and we fell in love! It checked off all of our boxes and we saw it within 24 hours of it being on the market! We placed an offer on the house fingers crossed Apparently they were bombarded with offers and we were told to send in our best offer - so we raised our offer well above asking price... as I type that is what I know!
I also take you along through some decluttering, laundry, and a grocery haul in this video- so I hope you just enjoy spending the day with me!

That 2nd house has to be one of the wonkiest layouts I have ever seen lol! The 1st house was beautiful!

When she first walked in it felt like a house I'd build in sims when I was a kid, and then she kept going and it just got weirder lol.

The second house that you looked at looks like it was a custom build that didn’t work out for whatever reason and it looks like it was built by someone who isn’t licensed or they were just trying to finish it as quickly as possible. So odd...especially the outlets and all the weird little nooks.
The first house was so beautiful! I've lived in my one bedroom apt 14 years this March. I loved when you said, I remember the days when I prayed for what I have now. It made me cry cause I so love my little apt. God has truly blessed me even through all the sad times in life. I love your channel so much and you are such a sweet lady. Blessings from Virginia.

That doll hand was THE LIFE I needed today. I was laughing so hard I had tears and had to wheeze-explain to my husband what I was laughing at and show him. Two tiny thumbs up for that.
That first house was a DREAM! Wishing you the best on your house hunting endeavors. The market is pretty brutal my husband and I are trying to move to another state and it’s a nightmare.
It’s so crazy how different Florida homes look compared to other parts of the country. Such a different design.

Never buy if it feels rushed. The housing market WILL go down. I'm in Phoenix. I felt that INSANE rush in 2007!!! The market crashed and NOW the house we had is the same price we paid 14 yrs ago. I'm also a Realtor. The market will always fluctuate but never ever fall for the feeling that it will keep going up. That's how you get stuck in an overpriced home when the market crashes.
I’m in Phoenix too and in t he same position on as Kim, of too many kids for the house we brought in 2009 at Almost the lowest point in the market. I wish more than anything we had spent $20-50k more at the time and gotten a bigger nicer house. Ugh! Home prices have gone up so much even in the last year. We only have 2 years left on our mortgage so tempted to just shove the kids in and keep this home.
Even when we bought our house that we’re living in now five years ago we had to put in an offer a few days after seeing it! Houses have been selling like hotcakes for a solid five years now!
Oh also regarding when the market crashes, we understand that inevitably it will go down Dash we plan on living there for at least 15 years so hopefully by that time it would have recovered!… But these are all things that we are thinking about too
@@livinwiththeedges8283 totally! I bought my house in 2006 for $301k, lost it in 2009, it sold for $125k, it just sold again last month for $306k.
I'd wait. Buy low. This is how people make a lot of money in real estate. Don't buy high and wait 15 yrs for recovery. Buy low, sell high. It's not a good feeling to know you paid too much and hoping it goes up. Plus you never know where life takes you. You may need to sell before you planned. Don't get stuck.
@@heatherhopereed2147 those of us that lived through the housing crash in Phoenix have a real estate trauma I think. We had 60% of families in our church loose their homes. That sticks with you.

I totally get wanting bigger but still being thankful of what You have. We moved into our current home about a year and a half ago. We came from a single mobile home in rented trailer park. 3 bedroom and very small. We worked for that very hard and lived there for about 11 years I was so grateful for it. Now we have a spacious 5 bedroom house and we are working very hard for it too. Much love Kim, you will find the right home for you.
That house is gorgeous and the staircase is stunning.
The house looks like it has great potential for dual occupancy/inlaws with the seperate ground floor ensuite and garage, will keep the value of the home (and other buyers offers) high.
If it doesn’t go your way, the stone feature wall in the formal lounge is stacked stone, kinda like a tile of stone that could be added as an indoor or outdoor feature if you renovate another house.
Edit. When we bought our last home, after our offer was accepted we had our agent contact sellers agent and offered to buy 3 pieces of furniture seperate to the house sale. Worked out perfectly as they didn’t fit the style of their new home anyway.
Smart! Always put large items like that in a separate contract or agreement and not in the purchase contract and do NOT give a copy of that second agreement to purchase personal property to your lender. I used to work in mortgages and can tell you that there were more than a few times it affected the loan amount calculations. Your loan amount is figured on the lower of the purchase price of the home or the appraised value. If the house appraises for the total purchase price and the lender sees large amounts of personal property included, they would need to deduct the value of that personal property from the sales price and that new number would be the basis of your mortgage amount.
I live in NY and were LOCKED DOWN, BUT with your Governor in Florida.....we want to move down there too!! As everyone keeps saying....if your blue.....stay out🙂, but we're red, so maybe?!! ❤️🤔🤗 Soooo happy for you & your family!!

I love house hunting! Praying that you get the house. If it doesn’t work out your perfect home is out there. I bought strawberries and definitely can tell strawberry season is here. They were huge and so sweet. The thing I miss about living in Florida is the fresh fruit and vegetables. 🍅 🍓

The first house seemed pretty perfect for a big family but I would run very far from that second house. Also you made my morning with the tiny hand grocery haul! I was gasping for air because I was laughing so hard. 🤣 And that is why I love you!
I’m also a mom of 5, laundry was always crazy until the kids could read. I labeled the laundry baskets for sorting and then labeled the washer and dryer to match. If they can operate a tablet or phone they can operate a washing machine! Best of luck on the house hunting too.
First of all, I don't know how you keep a straight face while using the baby hand! I was hysterically laughing for most of the haul. Second, I have my fingers crossed that you guys get that first house because it seems perfect for you!
My brother and sister-in-law are trying to buy a house in New Jersey. The market in their area is so crazy. You have to make offers on the houses before you even go see them. You make the offer, go see it, then have 3 days to change your mind. But so many houses in that they’re interested in are “sold” before they’ve officially listed. People are offering above asking price before it’s sent out. It’s just a who’s realtor got the word out first. Absolutely crazy!

After shopping and buying 6 years ago, I still look at Zillow listings.
I was in the same position as you last year, wanting to move for more space and just upgrade what we had. After looking at a ton of houses we found a great one and we’re so excited, we put in an offer right away. Then they accepted someone else’s and I was devastated, as much as I tried to keep my expectations in check I was really sad. Then a month later we found our absolute dream house for less than the other one we really wanted & everything fell completely In place! It really made me think of the phrase that says something like some times God has a better plan for you than you even have for yourself! Sometimes when things don’t work out it’s because something even better is waiting for you! I will keep my fingers crossed you guys get the house, but if not I know you will end up exactly where you’re meant to be!

So, I have 8 people in my 1500 square foot house, and half the time my daughter has her three year old too. :) He's super cute and has added so much to my life. Love the first house, wish I could afford it. It was beautiful, I hope you get it or if you don't, get something better. Clothes in our house: we had to give everyone their own day for clothes, my husband and I take Saturday and then the kids decide what day they will do laundry. If they get done early in the day they tell someone else so they can also do laundry. Each person has more than one load of laundry, so not sure how you would be able to keep up with laundry with only doing one load a day. :) I think you are amazing, love to watch you.

Don't stress out about it. If you don't get it just please stay away from the moldy one. My family's in construction and real estate and that house is a money pit. Someone's made a mess of it. Something really great will come along. I'm so happy that you will get a new home. Can't wait to see you guys for all the cooking and holiday decorating in one. Stay safe and good look.❤

That quote is on a canvas at Hobby Lobby. I really want it because sometimes I forget about what I am already blessed with 2 beautiful kids, a loving husband, a roof over my head, food on the table and clean water. A bigger house would be nice but I'm okay with what I got.

My uncle who builds customs homes told me that the upside down outlets usually signify the outlet that’s attached to a switch on the wall. Now as for you liking moldy smells....maybe you just love cheese
My condo in California sold in seven day's above asking. I was like...Sooo now I'm renting a 300sqfoot space and downsized 90% of my belongings as i wait for my forever tiny home to be built. YEAH the market is nuts.

Those outlets aren’t actually “upside down” that’s how they should be installed. Obviously more properly and not how they had them but they are placed going the right direction. Many people place them the other way to make the outlets look more like smiling faces but it’s better for the ground wires if they go the other way.
It actually does not matter. Traditionally they turn the one upside down that attaches to light switch. Most appliances are made with pin down and placing them pin up can put strain on the cord causing damage down the road.
My brother-in-law is an electrician and he said sometimes it’s better for it to be up, that’s fine I’m just talking about the freaking face plates! They couldn’t splurge and get one that they did not have to splice a part 😂😂

Ya know, the other day I was thinking about how I'd like to see a return of the tiny hand. Kim has blessed us.
I'm in Texas and the market is a hot mess! Things are gone before I can even blink! We are considering renting in the meantime. Its a difficult time trying to deal with the housing market, but we are just trusting in God's perfect timing for our family.

@@he1enuk Yup, that's a fortune. It's i$1,366,876 US dollars. Average price of home in largest city close to me is 1 million. That'd be for about 1400 square feet.

Omg I can’t believe the hazards in the second house and that they were even allowed to list it like that! In Florida, does the house need to pass home inspections before someone buys it? Wouldn’t the homeowners need to fix it?
The mould alone going through the entire AC system would have me running away with my cheque book!! Its a weird layout. Dont think that ones meant to be.
It depends on what type of loan you get- some people just buy with cash!! People in Tampa be rich. 💰 lol the realities said he bets whoever buys the property will likely tear the house down 🤦🏻♀️

I grew up in an apartment so when we bought our house 26yrs ago I’m still grateful. We bought a small 2bd. 1bath 1 small closet in the bigger bedroom bungalow, no other closets anywhere. Having 2 children then a 3rd after. The whole basement was unfinished so we made a room for our eldest there. 16yrs later we added a bigger living room on the back and have our bd in the old living room, and a half bath downstairs. It was cheaper to do that than buy another house in the neighbourhood. Now it’s time to reno the kitchen to have more cupboards, counters and a small dishwasher finally ( never had one in my life). Our younger 2 (24,26) are still at home but it makes for a perfect retirement home. Still grateful. Wish you all the best in your home quest.

I would say pools are very popular but not every house has one- for us it’s A must especially since Covid! It keeps our kids busy with some physical activity
it's winter like 6 months of the year in wisconsin, what is the point of a pool? I live in the u.p. and the idea of having pool is absolutely the dumbest thought, like under the 20 feet of snow is a pool we can't use but maybe 3 months out of the year. unless you have the ability to have an indoor pool.

Oh Kim, I feel you! We are (and have been) house hunting too. The housing market is the same kind of crazy here in southeastern PA. We sold our townhouse back in June to get top dollar for it, and now we're living in a 2bd 2ba apartment (with 2 kids!), waiting for our new house to pop up for sale.
We're supposed to go and look at one on Saturday that is way beyond our price range, but has so much of what we're looking for. But we'll see. If it's the house for us, it'll work out. If not, we are okay to wait for the right one! Thankful we have a spot to stick out the wait.
