    I love being a member of this community. There are so many wonderful and compelling stories to read and listen to. Thank you, Alice, for being on this mission and sharing with people that acquiring a language doesn't have to be painful. In fact, it's joyful!

    Joining the community was the best thing I could have done. I did duolingo for the 1st 2 months, which helped me build a small foundation. Then I discovered Alice and I've been progressing so much since. I am 6 months in and I can understand a lot of podcasts now. Trust the process
    Aka Vinzetti

    I feel so fortunate to have found you, Alice. I was looking for French comprehensible input and came across your channel. I am now half way through season #3 and have enjoyed every minute. I actually can understand most of what you say and certainly get the gist of your stories. I first started French in high school in 1970. It was the traditional form of teaching and I was not very interested and was intimidated and self-conscious. Now, a half a century later, I am interested and motivated. I live in Florida and do not have any French friends or relatives. But I love the language. And I love your method of teaching!!! You are an inspiration. Hearing you speak English makes me think that if I keep at it, some day I will be able to speak French, at least at an elementary level. I plan to become a member of your community. Thank you for all you do!!!

    Thanks Alice for this wonderful method.
    A little question, Alice please do you know of any Spanish teacher either on UA-cam or online who uses this comprehensible input method? I would love to start my Spanish journey with the right foundation.

    I'm almost done with the Baby Stage and I really adore the stories and find them so easy to understand! Sometimes I can "hear" you talking in my head, "le petit chat bleu" (that's the phrase that has really lodged itself into my brain) hahaha! Alice, after the Baby Stage, will Biscuit and Aspirine be returning in any stories? Their adventures are always my favorite videos.

    I agree with a lot of what you are saying. Many people try to throw a person into the language speaking fast because the natives speak fast. But most learners need to go slowly at first so that can comprehend it then eventually they can get themselves up to a native rate of speed.

    This video is so good and motivating ! I moved to France a year ago to be with my husband. I completed my A1 but I still couldn’t speak french. I feel like I don’t have the confidence. Sometimes you just need someone to practice with without any judgement…

    I love being part of Alice’s community! The other members’ progress is motivating and uplifting💞 When I started, I only knew bonjour and merci😅 I started from absolute scratch on Alice’s website 6 months ago. Previously I had taken Korean in high school and Italian in college. My Korean teacher used traditional methods which relied heavily on boring text books and my Italian teacher did immersion method. That immersion class didn’t work partly because I spoke too soon...I know this because I would speak Korean when I ran out of Italian words. This phenomenon does not happen to me in French🤣 You can ask Alice, I have never spoken Korean in the community although maybe now I should 😂 Alice and the other members are very patient. When acquiring with this method, the most important factor is that you like your teacher and that you feel safe. You should feel safe to “faire des erreurs”💞 Towards the beginning of my language acquisition, I tried to watch Dix Pour Cent (Call My Agent) and was totally lost. Yesterday I rewatched the first episode and was able to easily follow the storyline🙌 If you are trying to decide oui ou non ! Come join and try out the membership for a month! You will be shocked how quickly you absorb the French language💞

      I'm really considering it. How much time do you spend per day? On average? Thanks!

    • @kayjones6498
      @kayjones6498 3 роки тому

      @@carina9629 Everyone is different. I spend about an hour or slightly more for focused study first thing in the morning then as the day continues I do a lot of passive listening. I love French pop music and podcasts and UA-cam videos. You shouldn’t compare this though. You may have an easier time than me at picking up the language. I have always been a visual and kinesthetic learner. It’s so important that I bake in LOTS of listening-also it exposes my toddlers. They understand a LOT of French now. This past Thursday, I spoke only in French to my youngest at the store and she understood everything. My kiddos are starting to mimic and create French phonetic sounds. I know it is only a matter of time and they will be speaking with me😍 Back to your question though-what are your goals? I kind of went in knowing I wanted to learn Spanish and Korean too. So I kind of went gang busters. You don’t have to do that😅😂 There are many members of the community that acquire in a more relaxed fashion than me😅💞 Also what is your time frame? I feel pretty confident speaking 6 months out-I cannot wait to see what happens in the next 6 months😻 I will say this. You should give it a shot. If you are willing to expose yourself to French daily, you will acquire French. Alice makes it so easy. You will listen to short stories but you will simultaneously be exposed to culture. This part is key. It may be impossible to connect with language without that component. I think it’s why Korean is so easy for me. Things like word order are tied to the culture! It’s so interesting. Okay, I’m rambling I really hope you join and I hope others see this hella long comment and join too. J’espère 🤞 A très bientôt 💞

    Savez-vous qui est Pierre Capretz Alice ? Si vous ne le coinnaiez pas, Je pense peut-être vous pourriez le trouver intéressant.
    La première fois que j'ai étudié le français, c'était il y a environ 23 ans à l'université, seulement deux semesters, mais nous avons utilisé un "nouveau" style d'apprentissage des langues. Nous avons appris VOTRE façon. I love to bitch about American Schools, because the ARE horrible, but apparently they got language learning correct. We learned French the way you teach - all French, no English, and via videos/stories.
