Surface modeling is an alternative to Solid Body modeling. Essentially, it’s just another tab at the top of the SOLIDWORKS User Interface. Surface modeling is an important tool to have in your box because it not only makes modeling easier, it sometimes makes modeling possible. When creating the tangent planes starting at @4:13 you appear to have the tangent option selected by default. I dont appear to get this option. Only get two options, Perpendicular and Coincident - I am using SW 2024. Not sure what is different. I followed step by step? This only happens with curves generated from arc entities . Tangent is available with straight even dia. cylinder surface or spline revolved surfaces.

I do not know why it is not appearing on your model, or it has to do with version or the entities you've used.

@@3D-World I resolved the issue on the Solidworks forums and it appears that you have to add more construction entities to now achieve the same plane tangent options. I believe someone checked by SW version when this option became vintage and appears to be starting and including SW2020. I have the same issue on a different model of yours.
