Magnificent machines! Interesting that Harley started out with 116 cc engines while others had as much as 1500 cc's. Scary to see those steam powered bikes, they tended to explode.
Fabulous video, very interesting 👏👏👍. Steam powered, small piston engines ! Wow! At 1:02 , is he trying to sit on the exhaust 🤔 Juuust escaped scalding 😀
I think in WWII with gasoline restrictions, or just not available to common man,, they manufactured these types of things again, homebrew steam bikes you might say. PS 99 % sure once saw that on the tube.
We don't Knowles il the Roper was the first motorcycle as far as wedô't Knowles if it was built. Nevertheless the reproduction ils splendid. A contrario, the Hildebrand and Wolfmuller si effectively the first serial bike.
Well .... From what I've read, they built and sold about 400 to 700. They were a novelty, but the sources said they were not easy to ride and steer, unreliable and underpowered. That last point due to the fact that the piston was pulled back by a rubber band, which means the pistons worked not only to drive the rear wheel (the axle was the crank) but also worked against the rubber bands.
The first one isn't an original, cylinders look like modern pneumatic cylinders with parts addes on, there are welds vissible made by an arc or mig welder, such things didn't existed in 1867.
You've got one thing wrong here! Mr. Butler in England patented his 1st petrol machine in 1869 and took it to the world's fair but didn't have the clout of Daimler so nobody paid attention to him but the patent office did! Do some research and you'll understand that Butler was the very 1st petrol powered motorcycle! Tell the truth and change your video!
Downvoted because it shows an add about couches and clearly pushes a woman's ass as a way to sell the furniture. No way to report it. Since this video is monetized and downvoted, I hope this helps you better understand what you are doing by allowing ads.

This was just too cool! Thank you for this!
All for fans! ✌️👍
What about the Butler petrol cycle exhibited at the Stanley Cycle exhibition in London in 1884?
@4:37 anyone else clapping to the beat of the piston? :-) TRUE BIKERS!!!
first one is a beautiful work of art & craftmansship
Fantastic video, thank you! Even if some of those bikes are replicas, what does it matter - we can still see how they looked and performed!

Amazing that they've survived. Well done for making them good again.
They must be very difficult to ride!!
Getting spare parts a bit of a challenge too.
I would love to hear Harley #1 running
Love the steam bike. Obviously built at a time before speed humps, that wouldn't get over a sleeping policeman.

Fffffhxxhhdddydyddydydyudufudreurueuueuruururufururuurururueueuuruururrurur
Harley Davidsons have hardly changed.
They are still fun bikes.
2:21 give us a wheelie
Beats walking.
My heart is bleeding when I see them under rainey conditions. Why the heck does all those presentations not only take place under dry conditions?
The man driving is just as old
Even if you are on a 1/2 hp motorcycle, you should be wearing a helmet.

Well it looks like Herrs Hildebrand and Wolfmuller was one of the 1st PRACTICAL bikes.

That contraption was completely out of balance, that guy could barely hang on to it.
i wouldnt fancy having that highly presurised steam engine just inches away from my crown jewels
You certainly couldn't take someone on the back
Why did that steambike sound like a turbine?
Anyone see the monowheel in the background?
1489cc engine 2,5hp XD
What the fri-
👍 😰 💥
Lol that Roper is a joke, you couldn't drive that anywhere in 1890s on those dirt roads with that boiler having such small clearance
Indian motorcycle was before Harley. Why weren't they on there.
Matt Wise absolutely true
The guys limited to the clips he can steal.....
Because they wouldn't put an Indian motorcycle in the Harley Davidson museum.
steam punk !!!
Good video but spoiled by the video adds at the end. I actually wanted to see the Harley not them!
What ads?
hmmm
The government is going to do something about him soon :(
So the motorcycles was first invented than the car?
No first car next motorcycle in germany
The first one isn't an original, cylinders look like modern pneumatic cylinders with parts addes on, there are welds vissible made by an arc or mig welder, such things didn't existed in 1867.
Do you not think maybe it's been restored? No way any vehicle that age would remain in running order with all original parts.
It would be useless if it went over rocky terrain

motorcycles used internal combustion engines, even for the first models
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
0:16 corona?
first cars are electric.
non of them are authentic.
Does it matter.
At least they are recreations of our past and running for all to see.
