I disagree quite strongly, the Lego Venator is absolutely dated and overall unpleasant to look at. Republic Bricks have evolved it without raising the price for the going used Venator on ebay, and it looks MUCH better, though no where nearly as clean as the UCS Venator for $700. It's sole purpose is to give people a good looking Venator without breaking the bank, and I think many people will appreciate it. For me, if I didn't want to spend $700 of a Venator I could consider 300 for a smaller one that would still look good on the shelf.
Agreed, I totally see the purpose and market for this set. I would have liked a better side profile than the hinge, but it’s still good when compared to something like the 75055.

I feel that making a moc with decent playability is more impressive than a display model, the inside of a display model can be anything as it’s just structure but to have a lot of room inside as well as a decent outside is pretty good, excellent middle ground between lego and the custom usc
here are some easy mods to improve this set: 1. add the red stripes on the sides that are missing 2. make the republic symbols slightly smaller(like RBV1 design) and move them closer to front 3. replace the studs in the bridges with clear blue ones

Some sets available are fine, and others are more fragile requiring care once displayed. The overall sentiment on customer service was not even referenced so I'm not sure why you felt compelled to bring that up? My personal experience on customer service with Timmy has been fair and equitable. For me it comes down to the quality of the model design, quality of parts (which continues to improve), and the religious hoohah which I could personally do without.
I think you were a bit harsh on this and missed the mark a bit on the market for a set like this. Many people collect playsets more than UCS and if Lego isn't making a playset like this at moment, it's a nice way to slot in a venator that matches well with the rest of your collection. To me at least this one also looks waaaay better than the official set.

Ryan the right wing (at right most point of the gap) isn't attached the same as the left. When u show the gap u can tell. Looks like if u wiggle the point(where the top and bottom r connected) it fix it a lil
Just got it at 200 with 15% off. Missing pieces but a great build overall. Spare parts from the 50 dollar slave 1 can add a lot of structural integrity. Love the set after modifications especially at price point. Lego one looks like it was built by a toddler let’s be honest
I would also encourage you to BrickLink the parts for Anio’s UCS custom ~5500 piece version from a few years back and compare that with RB’s UCS version. Would be a great vid and a fine edition to your collection…
The problem with this model is that you can purchase instructions and parts yourself for a model larger than the UCS RB Venator for only $100 more. It’s just wi to our reason to exist.
One ship that you should see or even get it the Mould King Eclipse class Dreadnought. I was always looking for a large star destroyer that had a nice interior and this was the one I had settled on. It it gigantic, has a total of a little over 10,000 pieces, weighs 25 pounds and was under 400 dollars. It is a pretty cool design and was really fun to build.

Much like other Clone Wars items such as Ahsoka/Rex/501st action figures, statues, Funko POPs, etc…there will always be a void for Venators because it is just such a popular ship from a very popular era of Star Wars. I’d personally stick with the official one too. This one is just real awkward and that handle really needs to be more forward. He should test these irl before putting them on his store. Also semi-related, I saw someone get his omega figure and the original figure head print was still on the other side, not even wiped at all. It was also not too far from the print so the hair wouldn’t cover it up (also has a beard)
The RB playscale model has a good place. It's a playscale venator that isn't horrendously ugly! I like to play with my builds a bit, and this has awesome features. It's less than half of the price of the UCS venator (both Lego's new one and RB's) and I think it is absolutely worth the money. TL;DR: it looks way better than Lego's playscale venator and is at a good price. Would buy if I had money.
I actually recommend looking up some far better custom MOCs from Rebrickable since there are definitely some sellers from that site I can highly recommend who have done outstanding work. I'm sure you can even find a far better Venator MOC for a better price that is of higher quality.
@@octobotimus no it's not, because the MOCs on Rebrickable are not 3D printed. they list MOCs that still uses normal Lego pieces where you can get the parts list and the instructions (either free or paid depending on the seller). and, as an added bonus, you can suggest ideas to people which sometimes they can agree to do it. it is not a gamble, and the quality of those builds are far better than what you would get from this kind of seller based on the questionable quality I have seen from these videos so far.

I’d say this is leaps and bounds better than the Lego one, and that it does fill a gap (albeit a very small one). The 2009 Venator didn’t even look that good when it came out, it was merely passable. Now, that set is rather hard to come by, and people would only have a reason to buy it for nostalgia or collection purposes. I’d argue that this custom is superior to the original play set in just about every aspect except stability, and it looks 10x better. That being said, there is not as large as a consumer demand for this as there is for gunships, and I have no reason to buy this. I’d rather save my money and piece together my own Venator with parts from my collection. Overall, I’d say this is good, but not great, for a custom set.
Totally agree on most points, Timmy’s cruiser looks good, but there is no place for it. I dislike the yellow in place of the tan, plus it lacks those red tail stripes that add needed colour. I would also question why he sent it to you premade?
Now thinking about it, I think that the idea of a 140-160$ cad bane ship is way to far fetch. If you come to think about price, and with the release of Kenobi coming soon. Maybe a new Venator? It has been 13 years and there are new pieces. And the last and only official Lego Venator set was 1170 pieces. So maybe? Bigger & newer pieces to justify that price point? This is just my speculation.

Ok, so, I’ve been watching MandR for about a year now, and I LOVE is videos, and I know about his RepublicBricks videos. But the only problem I have with those videos, is he gets like, really upset about parts not being brand new. Like, I understand that you don’t want to have bricks that are like, broken, or chewed on, or cracked, or just bad quality in general, but when he gets upset about some bricks having like, dust, or dirt, or the slightest scratch, I really don’t understand. Now, I’ve never bought a custom set, so I don’t know if the brick’s condition affects the build. So if anybody could like, help me understand, that would be great. (No hate on MandR of course😊😊)

Also… if you project yourself to be a premium product… you need to treat your product as such. I’ve not heard of any of the other sellers you’ve mentioned, but if they do good that’s great, but are they like RB where they only really have a niche audience? He only does star wars, and at that mostly focuses on prequel era and some stuff LEGO does rarely. Maybe if he did more things he could still be successful while increasing his prices even more, but I seriously doubt it with the amount of kickback he already gets for his prices.

no hate to mandr im just stating my opinion. the venator play set DOES have a place here. The old 2009 lego set is literally ass, because it isnt that accurate to the real venator and has too much gaps and shit. i could go rambling on about how it sucks, but im too lazy. so here comes the RB venator. this one is actually accurate, barely any gaps, and honestly an all around better set. the only problem is that it doesnt come with minifigs. Either you get a ucs set of the venator, or you get the play set. i would get the play set. now if i had a choice between the 2009 set and the RB, the answer is obvious. If you put it in that context, the 2009 set is the one that doesnt have a place. lego really needs to come out with a better venator set!
I don't think the RB one looks better but it's better as a playmodel. You can open up the whole thing where as the official lego one you can't. And the compartments you can open up are not so exciting

Republic bricks UCS is the best, looks like a venator. The play scale republic bricks one looks kinda short, and the Lego one looks like an oversized hamburger.
IMO the $300 is not worth it at all. I parted out the pieces for a UCS Venator moc by someone called Jorstad Design, for only $320. And that venator is just as big as the UCS venator from Republic Bricks.

Question, I saw on republicbrick's site that he has a fennec shand's starship releasing April 1st. I am considering buying it (I already bought his Jango fett slave 1, I mean, look at my pfp) and the build looks very interesting, but the price is very expensive. Thats why I don't quite like about Republic Bricks, Its a weird combination of a playset and a TRUE MOC. Lets say I want A gunship (laat/i if I want a playset Im getting a better set with a true lego set, and if I want a true display minifig scale laat/i Im defenitly going with RichboyJhae's gunship because its just THE superior gunship moc although brickvaults is also good

I actually recommend looking up some far better custom MOCs from Rebrickable since there are definitely some sellers from that site I can highly recommend who have done outstanding work. I'm sure you can even find a far better Venator MOC for a better price that is of higher quality.
I mean they are still custom sets made in 3D programs. They can be better, or be worse. It’s the same gamble as this.
@@octobotimus no it's not, because the MOCs on Rebrickable are not 3D printed. they list MOCs that still uses normal Lego pieces where you can get the parts list and the instructions (either free or paid depending on the seller). and, as an added bonus, you can suggest ideas to people which sometimes they can agree to do it. it is not a gamble, and the quality of those builds are far better than what you would get from this kind of seller based on the questionable quality I have seen from these videos so far.

I’d say this is leaps and bounds better than the Lego one, and that it does fill a gap (albeit a very small one). The 2009 Venator didn’t even look that good when it came out, it was merely passable. Now, that set is rather hard to come by, and people would only have a reason to buy it for nostalgia or collection purposes. I’d argue that this custom is superior to the original play set in just about every aspect except stability, and it looks 10x better. That being said, there is not as large as a consumer demand for this as there is for gunships, and I have no reason to buy this. I’d rather save my money and piece together my own Venator with parts from my collection. Overall, I’d say this is good, but not great, for a custom set.
Totally agree on most points, Timmy’s cruiser looks good, but there is no place for it. I dislike the yellow in place of the tan, plus it lacks those red tail stripes that add needed colour. I would also question why he sent it to you premade?

Now thinking about it, I think that the idea of a 140-160$ cad bane ship is way to far fetch. If you come to think about price, and with the release of Kenobi coming soon. Maybe a new Venator? It has been 13 years and there are new pieces. And the last and only official Lego Venator set was 1170 pieces. So maybe? Bigger & newer pieces to justify that price point? This is just my speculation.
wait holy this is such a good thinking it would make more sense as a cost justification due to it probably having a limited 20th anniversiary fig since we wouldnt get it in the obiwan set due to it being so cheap and also having like 5 or 6 other minifigs as well

Ok, so, I’ve been watching MandR for about a year now, and I LOVE is videos, and I know about his RepublicBricks videos. But the only problem I have with those videos, is he gets like, really upset about parts not being brand new. Like, I understand that you don’t want to have bricks that are like, broken, or chewed on, or cracked, or just bad quality in general, but when he gets upset about some bricks having like, dust, or dirt, or the slightest scratch, I really don’t understand. Now, I’ve never bought a custom set, so I don’t know if the brick’s condition affects the build. So if anybody could like, help me understand, that would be great.

No I also don’t think you’d want that. It would just increase the price for something many don’t care about, leading to less sales, and more likely business closing.
@@bruced09 I buy from Brickmania, Brick Veteran, Citizen Brick… etc. All which are pricer than Republic Bricks… all are largely respected and successful. Also… if you project yourself to be a premium product… you need to treat your product as such. If you spent $80k on a car… and the dealer gives it to you unwashed… or even buying a brand new Iphone… would you want it given to in a trash bag? It kills the experience.
@@SHYTIMEismyTIME one of the biggest issues with RB is the price of the sets. You’re asking for an increase in that price. I’ve not heard of any of the other sellers you’ve mentioned, but if they do good that’s great, but are they like RB where they only really have a niche audience? He only does star wars, and at that mostly focuses on prequel era and some stuff LEGO does rarely. Maybe if he did more things he could still be successful while increasing his prices even more, but I seriously doubt it with the amount of kickback he already gets for his prices.

could you compare the mould king star cruiser vs the original lego sets? the executor as an example cost 300e from mouldking and is 134cm long the lego one costs 1,300€ and is 124 long

the venator play set DOES have a place here. The old 2009 lego set is literally ass, because it isnt that accurate to the real venator and has too much gaps and shit. i could go rambling on about how it sucks, but im too lazy. so here comes the RB venator. this one is actually accurate, barely any gaps, and honestly an all around better set. the only problem is that it doesnt come with minifigs.
Either you get a ucs set of the venator, or you get the play set. i would get the play set. now if i had a choice between the 2009 set and the RB, the answer is obvious.
If you put it in that context, the 2009 set is the one that doesnt have a place.

I don't think the RB one looks better but it's better as a playmodel. You can open up the whole thing where as the official lego one you can't. And the compartments you can open up are not so exciting

Republic bricks UCS is the best, looks like a venator. The play scale republic bricks one looks kinda short, and the Lego one looks like an oversized hamburger.

IMO the $300 is not worth it at all. I parted out the pieces for a UCS Venator moc by someone called Jorstad Design, for only $320. And that venator is just as big as the UCS venator from Republic Bricks.
I got my used official Lego Venator for a little over 50 USD here in Denmark . That was back in 2018

im going to be the one to say it,the book of boba fett palace is really weird looking and not big enough at all, we should get something similar to the ucs falcon. one giant set, to sets of characters, return of the jedi and book of boba fett, I personally think that this would be a much better alternative to the ucs land speeder

Question, I saw on republicbrick's site that he has a fennec shand's starship releasing April 1st. I am considering buying it (I already bought his Jango fett slave 1, I mean, look at my pfp) and the build looks very interesting, but the price is very expensive. I'm wondering, did he send you an early copy of the set to review? And if he did, could you please review it soon so I can make a final decision on whether I should spend the high amount of money on it or save it for something else?
I would only buy this for display......it is way better than the 2009 Lego venator but for 400 dollars more you can get a much bigger, more accurate and arguably way better looking custom venator
Thats why I don't quite like about Republic Bricks, Its a weird combination of a playset and a TRUE MOC. Lets say I want A gunship (laat/i if I want a playset Im getting a better set with a true lego set, and if I want a true display minifig scale laat/i Im defenitly going with RichboyJhae's gunship because its just THE superior gunship moc although brickvaults is also good

while this design looks great it shouldn’t have any weak areas especially considering its 300$-I think it’s honestly terrible in comparison to LEGOs play scale venator because legos is bigger, better, and stronger. My other complaint is the custom 300 dollar venator has yellowish grey and bluish grey pieces mixed in the back; which you should expect better quality for 300$

That's bad, I use to sell converted Venators based on the lego sets and you can make them look so much more accurate. My designs were based on a UA-camr called Luke Builds, I strongly suggest you go look at his build instead of wasting your money on this.
