I read Packing for Mars recently and had a blast :). I also enjoyed Hidden Figures and The Martian. The Six sounds right up my alley so I'm putting it on my TBR; thanks for the rec!

Packing for Mars is one of Roach's I missed. You renewed my interest. really great video. The Six also sounds excellent and Calculating Stars is one I've meant to get to and have on my shelf so I'm glad to see that its one your recommendations.
I don't think Packing for Mars is one of her most read/well known so a lot of people miss it. But its honestly one of her best. Hope you enjoy the other two when you get to them :)
Extremely interesting topic to me. I’ve read and enjoyed Hidden Figures and watched the movie. Liked it very much, too. I have the book Calculating Stars on my TBR. Have just moved it up and added the Mary Roach book and The Six. Thanks.
Great list! One more to add to the nonfiction selection would be: "A City on Mars: Can We Settle Space, Should We Settle Space, and Have We Really Thought This Through?" by Kelly & Zach Weinersmith. It is definitely one to read physically, rather than by audiobook, due to the inclusion of drawings and the awkwardness of the audio narration.
+1 for Packing for Mars. Mary Roach is sooo good. Plus the footnotes she does are chefs kiss. For fiction, all i have is uhhh 40k space travel, not what id call cozy scifi haha

Mary Roach is always just such a fun read. Like it feels like the reading equivalent of eating popcorn. It’s just good.
